Rating: Summary: A Must Have Review: This game is the best yet. The Geo tech alows you to make holes in the walls expanding forever. The weapons are awesome. The only defect is that it is very hard. Download the demo at gamespot.com
Rating: Summary: Red Faction Review: I played the 127mb demo of Red Faction. The system requierments are so low that it unbelivable. The graphics and sound are very good, The GEO-MOD is a great technology, You can blow up everything. But the game is like a half-life clone with a very bad AI. I hope they will tweak the AI in the Full game
Rating: Summary: Geo-Mod...the future? Review: Having not played this game, I have no true conception of Geo-Mod's capibilities. I know only of what has been shared through Amazon. My concern is this: Is Geo-Mod the future of gaming? This programming to me seems revolutionary as well as technologically superior to anything I've ever heard of. Will we be seeing this, and only this, in the upcoming games of the decade? I sure know I'm purchasing Red Faction, if not for the storyline or gameplay, for the Geo-Mod engine.
Rating: Summary: Woo Hoo! Review: I tried the demo of the single player and multiplayer. What a game! I am a big fan of Half-Life and Unreal and this game is right up there. The "geo-mod" stuff is a great addition, but I really like the smooth graphics and a nice story line. I can't wait to get the full version. If you like FPS games, YOU REALLY NEED TO GET THIS GAME!
Rating: Summary: Full Version I'm looking forward to buying Review: The Demo i downloaded from FilePlanet was 127mb and when that happens i usually think the demo levels are gonna be huge. But they took me 5 minutes to pass. The way the characters run is poxy and the AI isnt to great but all and all i think its the GEO-MOD technology that really shines. Neing able to make a tank fall off a rock bridge simply by firing a missle at one end is pretty fun. And the glss shattering is quite fun. In the extras mode it allows you to have all weapons and you can pretty much dig your way to china with a rocket launcher. Quite nice but the gameplay is quite dull.
Rating: Summary: SWEET! Review: I've been playing FPS since the days of Doom and Wolfenstein, and, I still enjoy those two games. That's beside the point. My latest kicks have been Counterstrike and Unreal Tournament. And, I must say, the Red Faction demo blows the ... out of all of them. The possibilities are endless! Think of the fun if Counterstrike allowed you to burrow across the map! I just hope Volition has made the modding as simple (relatively) as UT. And, IMHO, it was time for the game that redefines the FPS genre to have an epic storyline. The last commercial FPS that really took off (as far as I know, anyway) with some semblance of a storyline was Half-Life, and that played out like a typical sci-fi horror flick. Red Faction has to be the coolest looking game to come out in a long time. If I had ... bucks right now, I'd definitely pre-order this. But I guess I'll just have to wait. Oh well.
Rating: Summary: The Truth About the PS2 Version Review: I was just reading the reviews and I saw that people were talking not so highly about the PS2 version.1. The PS2 version rocks, contrary to what you might hear. All of the Geo-Mod effects are the same; the AI is the same; it has the same storyline; and the graphics are excellent! 2. The only way to imprive the graphics would be to smooth out the characters and make them more round (not that the character models really need this kind of makeover). 3. The storyline is great! If you take into account all of the chahacter bios and personalities that develop, then the only stories that are better come from the "heroes" of the gaming world, such as Metal Gear Solid or any installment of the Final Fantasy series. 4. The controls are actually very good for a console FPS. The controls are also used in the PS2 version of Unreal Tournament. Left Analog to go forwards/backwards and strafe; Right analog for turning/pitch (great for sniping); R1 & R2 for Primary & Secondary fire; and X to manipulate environment ("use"). I play all of the FPS games on the comp (Half Life, Rainbow Six, you name it) at my friend's house =). I am used to both, and if your tiny little rock for a brain cant deal with two ways to move your character, well, then, you should go back to your hobby of hitting a wall with a stick. 5. If your computer does not live up to par (like my 300 MHz P.O.S. Special Edition), then get the PS2 version! 6. If you don't have a PS2 or a fast computer...well...I guess you are SOL on this one Billy. p.s.: The PS2 graphics are not fuzzy/blurry! -The Programming Mercenary

Rating: Summary: BETTER THAN THE PS2 VERSION!!!!! Review: I played a beta version of this game and it is better than the PS2 version! Fisrt, you can destroy ANYTHING you want to. Can get through a door? Blow up the wall and walk around! You can blow up the supports of a tower and bring the whole thing down!! Blow the bridge out beneath a huge armored tank! You can destroy anything and everything thanks to the new geo-mod technology! The story about the "revolution" isn't the best, but who cares about a story in a first person shooter?? Anyway, you are a miner (basically a slave forced to mine all day) forced to work all day by Ultor. A woman named Eos is leading a revolt against Ultor and you are all caught up in this. Plus, miners are dying from a disease known as the "plague." Story: 3/5 The graphics are sweet!!!! Character faces are beautifully animated and the enviroment looks great! Graphics: 5/5 Now, the sound......... WOW! The voice-acting is great! The sound of gunfire and explosions are awesome. Everything about the sound in this game couldn't have been better. Sound: 5/5 Everyone knows that first person shooters were made for the computer and the control of this game proves it. It is execellent and could not be better! Control: 5/5 Overall, this is the best first person shooter since Half-Life. I suggest that you go out and buy this game as soon as it comes out! Overall: 5/5
Rating: Summary: Extremely cool game Review: I bought this game on the PS2 in anticipation of the PC version coming out. It is cool but Im just not gonna call it next gen or anything. The way things can be destroyed is cool, dont get me wrong but it isnt quite as revolutionary as it was made out to be. I must say the coolest thing is the way the glass shatters, its just soooo cool looking. But getting past the hype I found this to be a really fun title. The Death Matchs will be fun with bits of wall blowing up everywhere. Not too sure if my disliking of the games over-glorified luster is probably because the PS2 making the graphics look really blurry and the controls are just disgusting (if u are used to playing PC shooters that is). Just let me say that if you are lookin to get one good PC game this July, get Max Payne. It looks so unbelievable that it is mindboggling thinking how it will play. For those of you who are like me and just like buying up all the new titles, or someone looking for a good solid game with a fun story line and nice multiplayer possibilities then give this game a try. I cant wait to get my PC version and see it on my 3D ProphetIII, rid myself of that analog controller and get my Razer Boomslang mouse. Happy gaming :D
