Summary: Like you ever use it
Review: First off, I'd like to say that Red Faction's premise is pretty cool. Rebeling against the enemy, following a mysterious character named eios, its all good. The first couple of levels are cool, and the guns are sweat, my favorite is the sniper rifle. But I found myself thinking, "do I ever use the geo-mod technology?" Honestly, its cool and all, but do you ever have enough rockets or explosives in handy to blow open a door, when you could just find a way to open it. Another complaint, although you can hijack 5 vehicles, you hardly ever use some, especially the driller. Hijacking should be a pivatle moment when you can use them against the ememy. In conclusion, Red Faction is a pretty good game, but has a few problems in it

Summary: A uptodate 3d-shooter graphic game!
Review: This game as OK gameplay.OK sound quality but support from supporting a3d and eax cards.Only supports direct3d hardware rendering from your 3d huge accelerator video card. The thing that makes this game special,THE TERRAIN! You know how in most fps(first person shooters)When you shoot a rocket a a surface, ceiling, or wall, it just leaves a black huge circular mark and fades after a while?WELL GUESS WHAT?Not in red faction!when you shoot a rocker on a surface it leaves a hole in it.A realistic messed up dirty broken surface rocky hole, keep on doing it creat a cave like realistic terrain tunnel, further and further, and further!Besides the point, terrain digging people, this is your game!I reccomend a penitium 500mhrz, 64mb ram supporting direct3d accelrator, a3d or eax directx7 accelerator sound card!256mbram, 1.0ghz of harddrive space for installation, mouse and keyboard, high quality supervga up to 32bit color, and a pair of high quality speakers!Just get the game terrain diggers! You will love it!!

Summary: Very Entertaining, with a lackluster ending
Review: Great game, good game play, interesting story that gets you feeling like you're actually accomplishing something... the ability to blow through the walls is alittle overrated and pointless but adds alittle personality to the game. The ending as I said was very anticlimatic, I beat it after like 2 tries, but still this game kept me involved in the story the whole way so I can't knock it too much. Graphics are good, Game play as good as any other FPS, with added bonus of riding in vehicles which controlled surprisingly well. Worth 40 bucks

Summary: Awesome Engine, Lacking Gameplay
Review: This game has, by far, one of the best engines in a first person shooter I have ever seen. Many of the abilities and effects are simply increadable. The only problem I have with the game is that they never use the powerful ability to blow through walls at any point in the campaign. At no point does an enemy (intentionaly) blow through a wall nor is it ever necissarry for you to get into the awesome drilling tank and tunnel to a new area. I (by happenstance) found a half dozen or so secrets this way, but it was never crucial to the plot. Also, the last boss was a little easy for my tastes, and you have to play a combination guessing game with a timelimit after killing the final boss, which is rather... worthless.

Summary: GOD Rocks@!
Review: This game;s graphic is so good. It's real fun.
If you have lot of stress from business of yours, This game, is for you.
But One THING I didn't like about was that... It was Like other games.
In shooting games , you get many bugs...Like when you play online.
That's why I gave 4 stars. But still,
the most exciting shooting game I've ever played in my whole entire
LIFE~
Also, I think it works on XP.
(it works on my XP computer...)
BUy this cool game.

Summary: Get it for the multiplayer
Review: While this game lacks a bit in single player, it's fantastic in multiplayer.
The single player is a bit of standard fare, just running around endlessly shooting people. The Geo-Mod engine isn't really utilized, either, except in two levels (and in one of those it's really only used once). It's pretty creative, though. Another flaw is the cutscenes, whose flow with the game is poor, although you may quickly forget when you see the detail of the facial expressions (lip sync, moving eyes).
But definitely this game is fantastic in multiplayer. The netcode occasionally causes lag and character skipping, but not on a good (and dedicated) server. The Geo-Mod definitely shines brightly in multiplayer, especially in CTF. There's nothing like collapsing a building onto your flag, much to the chagrin of your opponents ;)

Summary: Real fun but...
Review: Okay, Red Faction Is fun, the plot is well developed, it is a complicated game, it is well developed and it is tantilizngly(sp?) addictive. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because there is something wierd about the game: It is really complicated, it is hard, and the story is long and well developed, but the thing that makes it wierd is that you can beat it in no time. I dont know why you just can. It is amazingly fun though while it lasts.
For those who said that the Geo Mod engine is not cool, well let me tell you, it is. It is revolutionary in gaming. I mean sure...there is not THAT much that you can do with it, but you have to play with it for a while, you also must understand, this is just version 1.0. Another thing is that there are not that many weapons, they are fun but most of the fun ones you only get in the last 1/4 of the game(which is like 3 or 4 weapons).
but overall I would recommend Red Faction, it deserves some intense recongnition for lack of a better word.

Summary: Good FPS but.......
Review: The graphics on this game is pretty good. I was disappointed to find out how short the game was. I have read some of the other posts about needing a objectives screen, but the game isn't that complicated to need one IMHO... I was also annoyed by the game only giving you the only 2 choices of starting completely over or exiting a game when you die if you haven't quicksaved. Sometimes I found myself backtracking very far just to get healed. Also, I would have liked more opportunities to use the heavy artillery weapons more and it is very hard to pick people off from a distance with the sniper rifle because you always get noticed and they move out of the way.

Summary: Another overhyped mediocre game
Review: I have to admit I am a bit dissapointed in this game. While the graphics are excellent for the most part, the cut scene closeups are almost an insult to the rest of the game. Capek has got to be the cheesiest looking character I have ever seen in a FPS game. The plot of the Single player mission is NOTHING like HAlflife as someone said in a review and Halflife is STILL top dog in FPS games. I admit the weapons are pretty cool, but I don't see any significant difference in the so called Geo-mod engine and other good fps engines(Unreal, Halflife, etc) In fact, so far, I haven't been able to blow much of anything up. Also, the plot of the game is very vague and you can't even look at your objectives or anything to know what you have and haven't done. One of the most annoying things in this game that just about had me spitting nails was the stupid civilian people who when they see anyone waving a gun, kneel down in the doorways and block your way every time. Bottom Line, mediocre game at best, but definitely no challenge to Halflife. Halflife is still the best by far.
