Rating: Summary: TheFlashback Review: American dream came true! Brian got a lot of money along with a brainless chick and a brand new Ferrari. I always ask myself why people come up with such a cheesy Hollywood like plots? Runway... Is it really adventure game? Hell no. Tired with a lot of boring conversations, linear walkthrough, completely non logical puzzles, and one more thing... blood. If I wanted to see people die I would have played freaking Doom. I simply do not understand. Look at success of Myst. Or Riven. Or Siberia. The games are logical, the puzzles are complicated but you do not have to brute forcing them, no killing. Fancy. I think 75% for the game to be successful is the "idea" that at the end comes down to the plot. The "Runway..." has completely lost in this competition. The graphics is very nice and professional, the sound is very cool too but the plot is just something that broke the whole thing. You give something to a person and then you are forced to leave the scene to come back immediately for things to "magically" work out. Dah... What is that "clicking every pixel on the screen" to finally get what you want. How logical to load a machine gun with freaking lip sticks... Anyway, I want to say thanks to all the developers that work for Pendulo Studios, they did an amazing job, it is unfortunate that the script was completely out of sync.
Rating: Summary: Runaway Review Review: An Interesting storie and many tricky puzzels get's you hook'd in a minute, Pretty sexy babe as a bi-cast dosen't hurt either.
Rating: Summary: Fun and Frustrating Review: Compared to other recent adventure titles, I have to agree with most reviews here that the graphics, sound, and voice acting are top-notch, as are the controls and interface. However, many of the puzzles are completely illogical and take a trial and error approach. In fact, I had to check the walkthough on several occasions after spending hours trying to figure out that item A needs to be combined with item B before using it on item C.
Overall, it was enjoyable at first and some of the humor was on-spot (especially the bus full of drag queens), but it lost something when the puzzles became obscure and irrelevant.
To the person who complained that the cut-scenes were upside-down, I think you need to get your graphics checked out. The cut-scenes were all normal on my system...
Rating: Summary: Great game but rating is incorrect Review: I agree with the other posters that this is a great game. However I would like to point out to the upset mother that this game is actually rated teen. I have contacted Amazon about this problem and I think it will be corrected soon.
Rating: Summary: Excellent adventure game! Review: I am a huge fan of the Monkey Island series, mostly for the sytle of gameplay, but also for the humor and interesting "twists". Runaway has all of the aspects that I love of that series but with a sytle completely of its own. Runaway takes you on a roller coaster of adventure and suspense, but does it in a supremely crazy and comedic way. I completely agree with the other reviewers that Runaway should have a "Mature" rating. A few people are killed right in front of you, and there is some mild drug use that is required for the character to complete a puzzle. There are other elements (drag queens, some racy dialogue, and skimpy clothing), but nothing more than what you see on TV. I really had a lot of fun with this game. I did not realize how much I missed these games until I started playing Runaway. I am definitely hoping for a sequel.

Rating: Summary: Is this really for "everyone" ? Review: I do not own this game. I did however look at the pictures provided with the description, the ones with the naked women sunbathing etc. I most certainly would not want MY 6 year old playing this game. I don't feel the content would be appropriate for that age group at all. Call this mom a prude.....that's ok, but this is what is wrong with our children today !!!
Rating: Summary: Somewhat Disappointing Review: I have played almost all of the adventure games out there (Monkey Island, Lucas Arts, Tex Murphy, etc.). This one wasn't nearly as good as any of them. The graphics were very good but the story line was sorely lacking and 100% linear. I might as well have just watched a cartoon with a bad plot instead. What really irked me was how the player is unable to do things out of sequence. For example, you have two inventory items that should obviously be combined but you can't combine them until you talk to someone about a certain subject. There are no branches whatsoever in the story line. The acting was marginal; the dialogue was boring, the humor lacking. The puzzles were often tedious and some of them seem like they are inserted simply to make the game longer. Many of them are extremely un-obvious and the average player wouldn't be able to guess them without a walk through. I also experienced several technical difficulties with this game (videos not playing, chapters not installing, etc.). I really like adventure games and regret the fact that the genre is dying. This game doesn't do much to revive it. I was going to sell my copy but I don't want to put someone else through this.
Rating: Summary: Runaway: A Road Adventure by Pendulo Review: I Just want to say that anyone who didn't like this game or had so-called "bugs" needs to check their head or get a better computer gaming system!!! This is the best adventure game I have ever played (humor, intrigue, originality, graphics, etc.) The lady who wouldn't recommend this to her 6-year-old needs to get a grip!! Your six year old should be playing with tickle me elmo!! This is clearly a mature game (just look at the box cover)I have never had more "adult fun" playing an adventure game until Runaway came along!! I did, however, get annoyed with the cut-scenes being upside-down all the time though. Creative, yet, makes you wonder if your computer is malfunctioning. But, as for bugs, sorry for all those who missed out on a great adventure due to their lack of an up-to-date computer system!!!!!!!!!!Thanks Pendulo! P.S.The lady who needed to try the game on her husband's computer needs to stop the nonsense! We read your same dumb review regarding "Grim Fandango" practically verbatim-nice try! Solitaire comes installed with windows for free!! This goes for all of you who keep complaining about the cost of this game!!!
Rating: Summary: I don't understand the complaints Review: I love this game. It never crashed or anything like that. The graphics and sound are both great, much better than I expected for the price. I really wish there would be a second one.
