Rating: Summary: What a GREAT Game!!! Review: A long time ago I was bored with my current games so I went out and found a neat looking game called Robot Arena. I took it home and installed it and then played it. After about a day, it started to get repetitive. You can only do so many things. It was an alright-to-bad game. But then Robot Arena 2 came out. It is so much better! You are no longer limited to 5 or 6 chassis designs, you can design your chassis how ever you want! And you arent limited to just 1 step weapons(a saw blade, or a battering ram), in this game you can build in a 3D workspace putting weapons on weapons, and use extenders to build more complex weapons. You can build a motor and then put 3 weapons on it spining around. There are pistons and burst motors to utilize plows sludge hammers and other destructive items. It is a great and fun game! I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Annoying Review: Before we start I would like to say that I am an avid RC car user and have about ten. I have also made my own robot so I know what I'm talking about! This game is very annoying. In the bot building mode you cannot change your chassis without erasing all of the components in the bot. Also in the bot builder mode you have to keep the robot's height in 90 degree angels to beable to add any mapping. The wiring mode is easy to do but you have to get used to it. There are some problems with realism in battling. First of all the one time I was fighting in a match with a spinner, my robot flew up about 50 feet in the air and fell out of the arena. Another time, my spinner hit another robot and it disapeared. Also the one time a robot was launched 50 feet into the air and fell down and took no damage. The robot A.I. is stupid, they will often drive them off the arena or into a pit. Finally the game crashes after about an hour of gameplay. Right now this game is very glichy when a new patch to fix these problems this game could be very fun.
Rating: Summary: Great Game... Review: First of all...any person who says this game isn't great obviously is blind...it's the ultimate robot building & Fighting experience...the bot lab is great, and the gameplay rocks, i admit the multiplayer could use some tweaking but other than that i give this game 5 stars...and i'm very thankful that they made the game so it's like you are there controlling an actual robot thank god for HAVOK!

Rating: Summary: Impressive! Review: Great improvment. I played the first one, it was ok for like an hour. Then the monotony really got to you, not enough customizable features...yadda yadda. BUT THIS ONE! this is great! You can COMPLETLY free-draw your bot! Ther is no grid you have to stick to no pre-determined places for motors or weapons, its ALL 100% free-drawn bots. This allows for an extreme measure of imagination. And you know hat that means? Serious reaply factor. It will take you a long time to get sick of this game! Trust me its a great game for the bot builders out there!
Rating: Summary: Nothing else like it, great value Review: I downloaded and played the demo on my Windows XP box. After 30 minutes it expires and took my sound devide with it. I should have known better when it said it wanted me to install DirectX 8.1 (as of this writing the current directX is 9.0.x). For a marginally interesting game it's not worth the damage that resulted. BTW, I had to uninstall my sound device and let plug and play find it again to get sound back on my PC. Buyer beware.

Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: I have been an avid viewer of such shows as Battlebots, Robot Wars, and Robotica for the past few years. I have researched the sport, and know enough that I could build a robot if I had enough money to do so. I was one of the first to buy Robot Arena 1 almost two years ago. That game was not so great. I bought RA1 because I wanted to experience building and fighting robots. Once I played it, I realized it was not going to be what I expected. Robot Arena 2 though, is a whole different story. This game is simply amazing. The botlab is as close to real life as you can get. You start off drawing a base plate for your chassis, then extrude it and change the shape. Once done with that, you can add motors, batteries, or whatever you want. Unlike other robot games where you simply click how many motors you want, in this one you can place them anywhere in the chassis. You can raise them, rotate them, or stick them outside the chassis on extenders, whatever you want. Once you have mobility down, why not add a weapon? No pre-defined weapon spots here, you can put them wherever and however you want. Want a hammer? Get a burst motor, stick an arm on it, with a hammer at the end. Want a disc? Put in a z-tek motor with a disc component on it with some weapons at the ends, and you're done. There are endless possibilities, and that's not all. Once you wire it up how you want, you can go fight it. The game play is stunning. The chassis can deform, and parts can go flying off. They don't just disappear once they come off either, they become actual physics objects that you can get high centered on as in real life. When you chop an opponent's wheel off, or when a spinner's hammer goes flying causing it to go off balance and pull a "mauler," it really gets your heart pumping. Online play requires a high speed modem, but unlike RA1, you don't need IP addresses anymore. Just create a game and wait, or tell your friend to join and use a password. The game has so many features, I could not possibly put them all here. I haven't even mentioned the chassis painting, the possibility for walking robots, the large amount of original AI robots, or the in-game tourney system. All I can say is get this game now, you won't regret it ;-)
Rating: Summary: Almost perfect... Review: I'd give this game 5 stars. It's amazing. There are a few quirks, however, one serious. Multiplayer is very unstable and lags. I'm not the only one who has this problem. If or when a patch is released to correct this problem, I'd give this game 5 stars. Single player is very, very good. The other robots' A.I. can be pretty tough and there are enough arenas and robots to choose from to keep it interesting for awhile. Designing your own robots is a little complex at first and its sometimes difficult to put the compontents exactly where you want them, but once you get passed that, it's some serious fun. The game can be played two player on one computer, but it is not split screen. Often its hard to get a clear camera angle for both players, one disappears off the screen, or you have to place the camera so far back you lose a lot of the detail. The physics are pretty cool, not exactly totally realistic, but now you can flip other robots over, knock over crates and so on. It's a vast improvement from the first Robot Arena. Final word: worth your time, especially if there are future improvements to correct the multiplayer issues.
Rating: Summary: barbre's review Review: Please ignore the review by barbre ("Windows killer"), as it is filled with misinformation and, quite frankly, stupidity. I will address the rest to barbre him/herself... About the sound card - If you had cared or had the intelligence to look more carefully, you would have checked the master volume controls, and seen that Wave is muted. No need to uninstall your sound card and "let plug and play find it". Your comment about DirectX ("I should have known better...") is one of the dumbest things I have heard in a long time - "Oh no, version 9 is newer than 8.1, so 8.1 will surely destroy my computer!" - and given the fact you're running the abominable, sickening, eye-candy-filled terrible excuse for an operating system called Windows XP, I must come to the conclusion you are, indeed, of very little brainpower. So, everyone: Do ignore that review until Amazon (hopefully) deletes it. (Oh, and the game is great. 5 stars easily.)
