Rating: Summary: Worth the $$ Review: This game is really worth the money if you like Tom Clancy Style games. It is really realistic and really fun aswell. Redstorm has almost mastered outdoor maps and stuff in this game but the one problem that I found was that it has limited options on choosing weapons and stuff. You can only carry 2 things. It is still a good game though. I would reccomend it to anybody who likes realistic, 1st person shooters.
Rating: Summary: Best Game - EVER! Review: This is the BEST first person shooter, BEST squad based shooter, BEST military sim, most IMMURSIVE, most replay, computer game/simulation I have EVER played, and I have played many.I got hooked on the XBOX version so much that I got the PC version just for the extra missions. Now I am hooked on the PC version even more. I can't get enough. I spend many spare-time hours (and some that aren't spare) playing Ghost Recon. Thank you Tom Clancy, UBI soft, and Red Storm for giving me the best simulated military experience ever. So real that I can't begin to convey the feeling. 12 on a 10 scale. Buy it. If you like FPS, you will not be disappointed. You can thank me later.
Rating: Summary: Nice try. But it's flawed and tiresome. Review: Typical of Clancy games, Ghost Recon's main claim to fame is that it requires far more stealth and planning than typical FPS's. But if you've already played Rainbow Six or Rogue Spear, this is old news. Whereas the R6/RS games were about CQB in confined settings, GR is about sniping in large outdoor environments. In theory this sounds interesting, but in practice it creates some serious flaws. In Ghost Recon, the enemy AI is so good that you're forced to crawl prone at agonizingly slow speeds, over vast swaths of open terrain. This makes for very slow, tedious gameplay. The enemies can spot you and hit you long before you spot them, so you spend all your time getting your team killed. Saving/retrieving your game is a constant necessity. Unfortunately, friendly AI is bumbling at best. It feels like the tangos are the real Special Forces, while your teammates are the Amateurs du jour. On the positive side, GR does fix some of the complaints leveled at the Rainbow Six series. At long last, you can fire (and move) while lying prone; there are grenade launchers; team actions can be planned on the fly; and, the keyboard commands are streamlined and a lot more intuitive.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointed Review: Very good and realistic graphics e.t.c.. but in a moment of madness the Developers decided to use a Gunsight out of a Space adventure. This for me destroys all the illusion of realism. I have never seen a Gun on Earth that has a Sight like the one in Ghost Recon.
Rating: Summary: What a Deal! Review: What a great Deal!!! I have GhostRecon and it's 2 suppliments. Let me tell you, this is the best tactical military shooter (It's really a tactical military sim) available on the market. I played all the other Tom Clancy stuff before this and it was really great (esp Rogue Spear and Urban Ops - grab the Platinum edition, whata deal on that one too), but the one thing I like about GR is that you can make tactical decisions on the fly! So if your squad of 3 or the other combat teams in your small platoon are "taking fire", hey they don't have to die because your mission orders [were unclear] during the debriefing!! No, this time around you can tell those jar-heads to take cover while you encircle the enemy position and wax them!!! Oooohhhh Yaaaa baby - it's that good.... PS - PC Gamer magazine gave this one and Editors Choice Award and named it "Game of the last 2 years". I couldn't agree more.
