Summary: Best action game -- just incredible
Review: Believe the amazing hype -- Max Payne is the new Half-Life, with a stronger character than Duke Nukem. I can't say enough great things about this super fun, yet gut-wrenching game. Gut-wrenching because the story is the best story ever in a computer game and is the first to really make you feel like you're playing a movie. Oh, and the player controlled slow-motion movies that Max can make is the best innovation in games in years. If you're only buying one game this year, this is the one.

Summary: Nothing Compares
Review: One word "Wow". This game is uinique in so many aspects I dont even think I can list them all. First off the game overall is one of the best shooters I have ever played. The reason for this is because the story and action are so perfectly intertwined with one another that the game comes off as almost flawless. Remedy decided to take the shooter genre to new hights by adding inovating gameplay, including the awesome Matrix Style slow mo. The graphics and sound of Max Payne are amazing. Its really cool how they take peoples faces and litterally put them onto the characters. With so much action, style, and an interesting story Max Payne is definetly a game that NO SHOOTER FAN should miss.

Summary: Awesome film-noir style action
Review: Finnish developers Remedy have been at work on Max Payne for several years now, and it's finally hit store shelves. It is a truly breathtaking achievement, not only in terms of the astounding visuals but also in terms of story and action.

The player takes on the role of New York detective Max Payne. In the emotional opening chapter, a prologue to the action, we see through Max's eyes the murder of his wife and infant child. Max finds hints that the murders were the work of a particular drug gang, and moves on to work with a drug enforcement agency for three years to find the leader. It plays out like a scene from a big-budget action movie. This sets the up the rest of the first "act" of the game, with Max in search of the leader of the gang.

Graphically, Max Payne features some truly amazing textures, very much photo-realistic. Controlling Max will be simple for anyone who has played a FPS style game, with one great twist: "Bullet-Time" gameplay. This is a feature where the player can slow down the game time, ala' "The Matrix," with a simple mouse button click. This gives the player a small tactical advantge, but it certainly does not distract from the already difficult gameplay.

The hardware requirements are fairly steep to enjoy the eye-candy at it's fullest. Although the minimum requirements call for a 450 MHz P3 or AMD processor, 96 MBs of RAM and a 16 MB video card, a more realistic requirement is a processor near to or above 1 GHz; a higher-end video card with 32 MBs of memory and above (this is the game that the GeForce 3 was made for!) and 256 MBs of RAM.

Max Payne has definitely been worth the wait.

Summary: Fabulous game!
Review: I just got this game today and I think it is absolutely amazing. The Matrix style thing called bullet time is not only awesome to see but quite helpful when orienting yourself with a lot of bad guys around. The story is a dark, sorta gritty tale, but it is very solid and well thought out. Lastly, the graphics. I cannot begin to describe how amazingly beautiful these graphics are. You can actually see the individual bullets blasting out of the gun. All in all, if you have a good computer and any sense at all you will buy this game.

Summary: INCREDIBLE AND FANTASTIC - AN AMAZING GAME!!
Review: I have never ever reviewed a software game before, but I felt that this game, Max Payne, deserved my praise. First off, you need a powerful computer. I am running a Pentium 4, 1.4 ghz, 512 mb. of ram, 64mb video card. The game runs almost true to life on it. The graphics are breathtaking and groundbreaking. The game play is solid, excellent story and flow. It gets you involved as most games do not. You are the character, you take an interest in "his life". Adding to the graphics is the overall feel of the game, the atmosphere, the pace. This is one of the best games I have ever played. I usually buy many of these types of games only to be dissapointed in the graphics (which usually look good on the box, but not on the game) The graphics are actually better during the game than the box shows. I even thought the tutorial, which I recommend, was helpful, if not all encompassing. If these types of games are the wave of the future, then virtual reality cannot be far behind. Buy it and you will not be dissapointed. The only downside I can think of is someone not having at least the recommened requirements that are shown on the box, which are quite high. Play a high end machine, and you will be lit up!!

Review: STOP READING; buy this game NOW! Click order right now AND HAVE IT ONE-DAY SHIPPED! First this game has almost real graphics, like expressions on people's faces, cloths blow in the wind, muzzle flashes from guns are INSANE, bullet holes and the debris from bullets make when entering a surface are incredible. Besides the graphics, the story is something from out of a movie. For example, Max, a cop, comes home one day to find his house in shambles. His wife and kid are killed and he gets there in time to pump the assassins full o' lead, but he is stilled haunted by the screams of his wife and the crying of his child in his mind. Time passes and a vengeful Max, now a narcotics drug investigator, in on a case of a drug related to the mob that he thinks killed his family. When on the job, you (as Max) meet up with your partner. Over the radio you hear that you are under investigation for his murder. Strange! But not so when he gets ... capped, and you are FRAMED. That's just the beginning of the awesome story. The game also comes with an easy-to-use level editor, so everyone can build levels. If you think this game is all hype, you are dead wrong; people who have played it say it kicks. I'm getting my copy tomorrow and I am stoked. So what cha' ganna do?!? BUY THIS GAME IMMEDITALLY!

Summary: A Great Game for a Great Computer
Review: I use that title because of the steep system requirements. I just received this game in the mail today and have played it for a few hours. It is very choppy on my P-3 700 with an NVIDIA Geforce 2 MX. The graphics are wonderful but everything has to be on low for it not to be choppy. The slow motion and cinematics are worked wonderfully into the game and I saw that as the only problem that might have been hard to overcome. I recommend this game to anyone who loves first person shooters and also has a extremely fast computer.

Summary: Max Payne
Review: Max PAyne has been talked about by all major gaming magazines and they all agree it looks amazing. You will be Max Payne, undercover cop with nothing to loose. You are looking the killers of your family. The graphics are amazing. You can blow anything apart even money. But the mOSt important thing the slow-mo. You will be able to jump, duck and shot MAtrix style. The game could definetly be perfect, the A.I is just amazing. The only worry I have is that the slow-mo could be annoying especially multiplayer. CAn they pull it off? I sure hope so.

Summary: Max Payne
Review: Max payne is one of the best games i have ever played. Unfortunatly it is very short and has no multiplayer, But it has a great replay value. It is the closest you will ever get to starring in a John woo movie. The slow-motion bullet time does not remind me of the matrix. It remindes me of an 80's B movie called "TRANCERS" a clone of the terminator, Starring Helen Hunt. In that film the bad guy fires his gun at helen hunt and the hero (i dont remember who) presses a button in his watch and it slows down time, Then he pushes helen hunt before the bullet reaches her, You could see the bullet go past her. The guy is from the future to save helen hunt from getting killed before she saves the future, Just like the terminator. His watch could give him a long second, One second takes one minuite to pass through only for him. This movie came much before the matrix. It must have inspired the bullet sence in the matrix too.
