Summary: Real Pain
Review: I haven't been such an avid gamer lately truth be told. I've been annoyed by most of the titles of the past 2 years, same thing over and over again right? Well here's Max Payne. Beautiful Graphics and strikingly realistic. The plot is very well layed out and entertaining. My greatest complaint is also a magnificent complement: too short ^sigh^. More, more, more, MORE! All in All, this is an incredible game. I found myself completely involed in this experience, the payne and all.

Those who complain about the difficulty...I laugh at you without remorse. Go stare at a stack of peanuts or something.

MyStats.

.Very, VERY good music. Great sound, ambience and effects. Also, Amazing voice acting.

.Great graphics. Very nicely detailed textures.

.Realistic. Convincing environments and experience. Asside the fact that some baddies require 10 blasts with your biggest gun to the head. Hey maybe they'll make a realism patch?

.Great story intelligently told in style.

.And most Importantly, Alot of Fun.

Review: Outstanding graphics and story play, a must have for the serious gamer

Summary: To the Max: Payne that is!!
Review: Max Payne is gritty New York crime game that has been able to do something few other's can do, and that is to add a well scripted graphic novel to support gameplay. Max Payne is a wonderful shooter. There are some puzzles that have to be solved, yet most are rather simple such as shooting a tire-chalk to make a trailer crash creating an opening for you.

The graphics are wonderful, and they really give the gamer the New York subway feel which kinda creeped me out. The most distinct and amazing feature in Max Payne is Max's special power. Bulletime allows Max to alter time, much as in the movie Matrix. Although Max's enemies bullets slow to a snail's pace his fire normally giving him an edge. Bullettime is limited however, and this is not a bad thing because too much of a good thing is bad and would make this fantastic game too easy to complete.

This game is definitely not for young children as the rating would suggest. There is graphic violence (blood, slow death sequences etc.) and strong language which may be deemed unsuitable for younger gamers.

All-in-all this is a great game that I would recommend to anyone interested in something new in the gaming world. Max Payne is first class all the way, and those interested may want to check out the soon to be released Max Payne comic.

Enjoy, as I have.

Summary: Feel the bullets in bullet time
Review: I'm not usually big on video games. They don't really hold my attention too long but this game I couldn't stop playing. The graphics are awesome and when I tried the bullet time I was hooked. Everything about this game is cool. I hope they come out with another story for Max, I'm ready to unload my 300 rounds from my Beretta into another bad guy.

Summary: Warning - dumps to desktop
Review: Game worked well all through part 1, but dumps to desktop everytime while loading chapter 1 of part two (Rmemory error) the website lists this as a known issue, but the link to the patch (presumably to fix it) doesnt exist. Very annoying having invested several hours to get this far into the plot just to find you cannot complete the story.

Summary: If only Max was playable...
Review: I wanted this game from the moment I read the PC Gamer Preview/Review of it. It looks awesome and probably is. I received Max Payne for Xmas and installed it immediately.

The reason this game to me is rated ONE STAR is because I can not play it. In the game you can run, walk, shoot, jump, everything else, but you can NOT TURN LEFT or RIGHT at ALL! Not without the use of the mouse. In the options settings for the movement controls, many things are missing. The most important of these is the TURN LEFT and TURN RIGHT commands. Without this, all players are forced to use the mouse. There is no way to use a game pad or a joystick or any other device to play games with because the game will not allow for custom settings to turn facing another direction. Players are restricted to a STRAFE (walk sideways left or right).

Until a patch is available to fix this (I have emailed the game developer) I can not play Max Payne. I tried for over three hours straight to play and re-orient my fingers to the controls but failed miserably because having to switch from mouse to keyboard to do combination moves does not help.

Hope an update comes soon...

Summary: A little bit overrated
Review: Yes, i played the whole game, twice. For about the first hour, it was the greatest game ever, but by the time I got to the second chapter, it got a little repetitive. Max Payne isn't the first game to have bullet time, and it has a pretty run of the mill plot. Guy loses family, goes out for revenge, discovers a large plot by an evil corporation to rule the world... What's new? If you've played one action game you've played them all. Once you figure out how to kill one bad guy, you can kill them all. I don't see why everyone thinks this is the greatest game ever, its been done before.

Summary: best game ever
Review: this was the best game I ever bought, and worth all the money I spent on it. You must get it you will love it.
