Rating: Summary: Move over Quake3 Arena here is Unreal Tournament ! Review: Look here it is in a nutshell quake was the standard but it got old .....unreal tourny breathes new life into this format of game . Intense maps, Powerful Weapons, And many variations of the deathmatch genre. A cool voice messaging Feature allows you to send canned voice commands to taunt your enemys or command teamates. The bots in single player have adjustable skill levels and are quite good for computer AI, and deathmatch code seems fairly good as well allowing for pretty reliable connections via internet. I've been a big quake ,doom multiplayer for many years and i am quite impressed with this game,it is a MUST buy for fans of the first person shooter....
Rating: Summary: By far the best first person shooter Review: An excellent example of how to make a first person shooter that can finally challenge the Quake series. This is one of the best in graphics, sound, gameplay, and ease of finding a server you want to play on. Another benefit is you don't have to upgrade it to play one of the many styles of games! They are all there! I can't wait until I get mine so I don't have to play the demo anymore! If you want an excellent first person shooter game, this is it! Look no more!
Rating: Summary: A Terrific First Person Shooter For Anyone Review: I hate first person shooters. I really do.Except this one. Why? Well, Unreal Tournament is hardly the traditional first person shooter of "blast everything to pieces and maybe you'll survive". Sure, it starts like that, just like every other shooter ought to in order to familiarize you with the control system and interface, but immediately thereafter you begin to see that with game modes like Capture the Flag, Domination, and Assault, things are entirely different. Strategy becomes an enormous factor in playing this game, purely because your objectives will often require teamwork. The game has made this easy by providing you with the ability to individually change each of your robotic teammates' AI. Better yet: play with your friends via the internet (NOTE: internet play is extremely laggy, so i wouldnt recommend even trying it without a broadband connection of some kind). The graphics are decidedly sharp for a low-polygon count game, and the lighting and textures are superb. Animation and other movement is actually somewhat realistic, and its nice to see that things are finally changing in the world of FPS.
Rating: Summary: An unforgettable classic Review: Unreal Tournament. The first, the best, the unforgettable.
This game started the franchise and even now, after 5 years, it still retains it's original flavor.
Great fun, great action, innovative gameplay.
Even if you own newer titles I would still purchase this one, simply for the experience.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest PC game ever Review: This game has been on my hard drive for over 2 years, and not a week goes by that I don't play it. It's amazing! The graphics are quite good, although new games and video cards are pumping out prettier eye candy. That's not where this game shines, though. The meat of UT is in the gameplay. The bot (non player) AI is amazing, even after all this time. This is perhaps the only shooter where the single player mode is serious fun and isn't an afterthought. I sometimes even prefer playing against the computer than a human opponent. The varied modes: capture the flag, assault, etc, are very well done, and really immerse you in the action. The levels are well designed and intuitive. The beauty of this game is that with TONS of free maps available online, you can customize it and keep this game fresh forever. There are even a couple of mods that aren't half bad. This is the best purchase I've ever made.
