Summary: Great concept game
Review: A lot of reviewers had complaints about this game that I never saw. I hesitated in buying this game because of some of the reviews, but I went ahead because I had wanted it since I first came across it in the store. I installed it on my PC and then loaded the patch available at the manufacturer's website. I never had any problems with the engine or crashing. Everything in the single player mode ran smoothly. I never really tried out the multiplayer.

I thought this game was awesome. I wish the battlefield action had extended later into the game, but the levels were very well done. There was a wide variety of action, from trying to assault a bombed-out church and enemy trenches to sneaking around a giant armored train. The weapons and technology were really innovative conceptually if not in actual game play. The guns and fortifications were exactly how I would imagine them to be if WWI were still going on 50 years later. The story was kind of broken up, but still very interesting. All in all, I'd say I got my money's worth and then some since this game was so cheap by the time I bought it. Iron Storm had a lot of great things going for it, but my favorite feature was being able to switch your view back and forth between 1st and 3rd person perspectives. I gave it 4 stars, but would in reality give it 4.5 if possible.

Summary: Multiplayer Fun Time!
Review: Finally a game that the story line was thought out. It was fantastic and the only problem with it was the start up and after the day long headache it was well worth the money(came very close to finding the trusty hammer to fix the problem). I didn't want the game to end when it did. Good butt kicking game!

Summary: Download the patch first! Pretty good but has flaws
Review: First off, the goofy reviewers who panned this game because they could'nt get it to work should have downloaded the patch (software installation 101).

But, all that aside, this game has some good points and some bad points.

Good: The sniper weapon and missions where you get to use it. Poison gas is good for some laughs too (mu-hah-hah-hah-hah-hah!). The rapid fire grenade gun is pretty cool and the battle environments are large and offer plenty of hiding/attack places.

Bad: Missions not clearly defined and mission bugs. Like the one where you have to lay mines down to stop a tank; I wound up standing on top of it, throwing mines from the roof of the tank(??!!). Other wacky missions, fighting a guy in heavy armor with a bazooka....in a tunnel....and you are armed with a rifle (The game suddenly turns into Serious Sam. Sheesh!!)

The game has good points and bad points, but I'm still playing it.

Summary: Move over Microsoft, Dreamcatcher releases junk too!
Review: I bought this game (original-off-the-shelf) and went home to load it up. Installed great and when I went to play it... it would not work. I am serious! I spent hours going through the readme files with a fine tooth comb and they will tell you in the same file that THEY KNOW the game will not run with the majority of sound and video cards on the market. I patched the game and even installed it's included safe mode drivers (Yes it comes with a safe mode version- so what does that tell you!) and it still didn't work. I patched it- nothing! Wrote customer support and they said that they are aware; and I quote, "Like yourself, we are very disappointed at the problem you are experiencing and are working hard to correct this". So the bottom line is that they realeased this product loaded with bugs. It is a waste of money for people to buy it!

Summary: Iron Storm: Horrible
Review: I first heard about the game on a gaing website and thought it would be great. Basically, it's an "alternate-history" game where world war one has been raging for 50 years. When I finally got to Target and bought it, I was excited. When I installed and started playing it, I wasn't so excited. As soon as I started it, the game quit on me and went to the desktop! Aaaaarg!! I was finally able to get a good patch, but it screwed up all the movies! I wanted to give the game a good score, but the gameplay is awful. There is no life-meter so I can never know if i'm about to die or not. And it's so frickin hard!!! It's as if 1 guy can kill you with a shotgun if you're not quick. The only good thing I can say about it are some of the weapons. The game is really realistic. You can only carry 4 guns at a time, and 1 sword. The only thing about weapons I hate are that in some missions, you must drop all of the "good" weapons you have, like a sniper rifle and a machine gun or a rocketlauncher whatever. Here's a tip, always try the demo before you buy the game. I should've done that and saved thirty precious dollars.

Summary: Very compelling...
Review: I had to download the patch on their website (trivially easy), and then the game worked perfect. Its worth it.

The graphics are AMAZINGLY detailed. The cinemas are like something out of Saving Private Ryan. And the fun feels realistic. There's no laser cannon. But you get a sniper scope where you can zoom in on someone. You can hide places and wait to attack. Its a VERY well-made game. Kudos to the makers! And death match mode is GREAT! I highly recommend it.

Review: I really like this game. It's actually the first, real alternate history first/third-player shooter ever. The graphics are wonderful, I just can't wait for the whole release! The demo is somewhat buggy, but they will surely fix them in the final one.

Summary: It had potential....
Review: I really liked this game the first time I played it. The graphics are good, the battles are fun, and it is really challenging. The second time I played it however, it had lost almost all of its fun. This is one of the most scripted games I have ever played. The same things happen in the single player every time you play because the AI is incredibly scripted. The gameplay is diverse, but it just has no replay value at all. The multiplayer is quite bad as it is very laggy and the maps are not good at all. If you played a demo version and want to play the rest, then by all means buy this game, beat it, then sell it. If you have beat it once, you will never want to play it again. The developers could have made it so much better by just trying to make the gameplay a little less linear.
