Summary: Not for poor CPUs
Review: This game is one of the best out there. But let me give you one warning, if you have a slow connection, try another game Now, onto the game. The install is quick(with my computer) and with a DSL the patches weren't long to d/l. Setting up the controls took a while, but not to long. The actuall game takes a long time to get used to. If you are a flight sim expert, you will be right at home with the vehicles. There is too much to tell you about, but let me tell you one thing, This game is excellent.

Summary: frag fest
Review: This game is insanely fun, but is not very stable on my computer. If you have a fast internet connection and it runs well on your machine you will love it.

Summary: One of the Best
Review: I'm sure you've seen countless people complain about the game wanting too much out of their systems, but is that really the developer's fault? It says right smack on the box that it requires this certain amount of RAM and this certain amount of CPU speed. If your computer doesn't meet the requirements, then I'm sorry, but don't buy the game. Some of you whine too much.

This game is great. And all the flaws have been mentioned already. It has top notch gameplay, semi-great graphics, an awesome soundtrack, and the controls are pretty well programmed once you get used to it. If you don't have much patience however...I'd suggest staying away from this game.

Summary: Playing this is a must!
Review: If a first person shooter game with the added advantage of being on a complete team sounds interesting, then this is what you've been waiting for. Tribes 2 is complex and diverse FPS game that has many good and bad qualities to it.

Some of the good qualities are that the game has excellent playability. Before hopping right onto a server, you are able to take on several single player missions that help you hone in on the controls and how the game works. Also, if you're on a LAN, then you are able to play a few games on it as well. Of course, the game is made to play online and is wonderful to play over the internet.

Some of the bad qualities are that the controls are difficult to get used to right at first. Also, the command controls doesn't add any speed to your game especially when your in the midst of battling with others. The game sometimes gets a little sluggish on my machine which is a PII 400, 256 ram, and a GeForce 2 MX - 32 mb but the game doesn't ever get too slow to not completely enjoy.

A person who enjoys FPS games, i.e. Quake or UT, would only like this game if they enjoy being apart of a team and can be a true team player. With all of those in mind, I say that the overall verdict on this game is just unlike any other FPS out currently.

Summary: Too many technical flaws to be any good
Review: I was really excited for this to be released, as I had heard so many positive reviews of the game hitting the shelves. I had never played Tribes, in fact I grew up on multi-player FPS games off of the Half-Life system like TFC and Counterstrike. And as I installed Tribes 2 I got even more excited looking through the player's manual at the various options available like the tanks and different weapons. And then it happened, the game installed and I opened the program, only to find that the game wouldn't play on my system, an unimpressive yet still adequate 450 MHz with a 32 mb video card. So I sold the game to a friend with a superior system, and got a chance to see it played. It looked somewhat impressive, but he wasn't too happy with the gameplay or missions invovled and now has it sitting on his shelf. It seemed as if Sierra released this game while it was still in a beta testing stage, we encountered several bugs and so did players from several gaming message boards I frequent. Overall, this game is probably enjoyable if you have a really top of the line computer system. Otherwise it might end up collecting dust sooner than a game should.

Summary: For best results, get your friends hooked with you
Review: Tribes 2 is an amazing game with a lot of depth. The range of things you can do - fight mano-a-mano, pilot a fighter, pilot a bomber, drive a tank, take remote control of turrets, etc - means that you'll never run out of new things to try. Get a few buddies hooked so you can try some coordinated tactics and great fun can be had.

As far as the system requirements, I didn't have any problem on my "relatively" low end system - a Celeron 333 with 256M of RAM and a TNT2 card. Had to keep the graphics settings a little low, but it was definitely playable.

Recently upgraded to a PIII - 700 and a Radeon video card, and the graphics are fantastic with most of the settings cranked up.

Summary: Could've been much better.
Review: Though I like this game, it could've been much better. The graphics aren't good on some things like the explosions. They look cheesy. You blow up a turrett and all you see is pieces flying. The ground has no detail and the bushes are generic. One of the good things from the first to the second is that the machine gun hits a little better, but only a little. The jet pack doesn't have enough energy, especially when your plasma gun pulls from that. The connection isn't that great either as you seem to constantly get a slow connection (and mind you I have a PIII 1000mhz, 256 rdram, 64meg video card, and I have a cable modem). Some of the other weapons are just stupid, but there are some cool features. You can play3 different warrior classes. And I love the team play function (Though some people who play this have no clue about team play). They could have made this better on many levels, but it look like they were trying to beat the rush of new games coming out like Half-Life: Blue Shift, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, & the new Duke Nukem. They should have taken their time and made this better (which is probably why sales haven't been very good). It's still a fun game, but it coudl've been better.

Summary: Great Game
Review: I own this game and it is great. I have a 850 MHz Amd athon PIII, 128 Meg Ram, TNT2 video card, and 30 giges. I get 75 Fps with settings on medium and 40 fps on full. I is great. The graphic are stupendous.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: If you have a Voodoo card (don't believe the box which says it is 3dfx compatable), don't buy this game regardless of your machine specs. I am using a Voodoo5500 and I am lucky if I get 20fps out of it(not unplayable, but not worth it either). The game is so fogged in, that you might as well be playing indoors. It does play ok over the internet though. If you have an Nvidia card(Geforce,Geforce2,TNT) you will probably have better luck. I really liked the first Tribes and thought this one would follow in its footsteps.
