Summary: Not a bad game, not so hard to install
Review: Installed with no problems on HP Pavilion 8575C: P3 550 Mhz, 128 meg ram, 20 gig hd, Guillermot Prophet (nvidia) 32 meg video card (latest nvidia drivers), and WIndows ME. No tweaking required. It came right up and runs FAST. First graphics which move so fast I feel slightly dizzy sometimes. Game graphics are terrific. Character setup is diverse. Hey Siera, ease up on the key combos...too many to remember. I'm using and MS Sidewinder Commander for 6 key combos on my left hand. Using the mouse on the right hand, and I still need to use 20 or so keys !!! Great options for voice messaging, as well as preset voice commands but, the key sequences are 3 and 4 key combos...ahhhhh, too much... Game is fun in training/lan mode or internet but could use more maps and game play options. Game auto patches when you log online, which is nice. A good buy at the Amazon price for a game almost on par with Counter-Strike.

Review: But if you didn't dig it that much, this isn't gonna change your mind. I bought it expecting something different and mindblowing, but I should have known that companies don't change winning formulas. And rightfully so. And I do respect the fact that there's a lot of people out there that do enjoy this game. But the Tribes franchise is not newbie friendly, even for seasoned FPS gamers.I didn't have a single problem running this game like some of the other people who gave it a bad write up; Tribes 2 works flawlessly on my setup. It also boasts some pretty cool features; after what seems like dozens of patches, they finally got the community features up and running in the game browser. I wish every game had as many cool features in its browser as Tribes 2. But once you get into the actual game, it's the same old disclauncher fights and turret avoiding as the first Tribes. The learning curve is massive, and I haven't been able to play this game for more than 30 minutes without getting bored or frustrated and turning it off. I had been looking forward to he single player in T2 so that I could better hone my Tribes skills, but the single player "tutorial" is a joke, and playing with seasoned Tribes players online doesn't exactly encourage you to get better either. The only thing I even slightly enjoy is the vehicles, and unfortunately even they are seriously flawed. They're about as maneuverable as dead fish, and eminently more frustrating. I only have fun in them when I'm trying to run over unsuspecting people. Which I might add is also extremely difficult, but usually the only challenge in this game I find remotely worth pursuing.

Summary: The Most Addictive Squad-Based Game of the Year
Review: You engage your cloaking pack and walk right past the enemy base defenders; unnoticed. You make your way to the enemy flag, which is guarded by 2 heavy-armored defenders. You whip out your close range shocklance and electrocute the defenders. You nab the flag and make it back to your base and score! This is just one of the many complex and varied strategies and tactics available to you in this game. Do you like to be a defender? Setting up base turrets and sensors and waiting for enemies to come by only to be ripped to shreds by your strategically placed turrets is the job for you. Or are you an attacker? Flying deep into enemy territory and raiding the defense, trying to weaken them as much as possible with the help of a teammate waiting not far off with a ride home for you to escape with. Perhaps you like the stealthy approach due to your Counterstrike skills. No problem. Slap on a cloak pack and a shocklance and you can go wreak havoc on unsuspecting enemies. Maybe your a good pilot thanks to your flight sim practice. You can fly 1 of 6 awesome vehicles. The Havoc, for example, allows you to carry 4 passengers, and a tailgunner, totalling 6 people in one vehicle. You can then unload this heavy firepower-packing group right by the enemies base for an all out offensive. Such teamplay is necessary to succeed in Tribes 2. The graphics engine is able to render uber-huge, neverending enviroments in real time. Seamless transitions from indoor and outdoor make for realistic and intense gameplay. The weapons and packs allow for a seemingly endless amount of tactics. This game, to put it simply, rocks. =) Graphics and gameplay aside, there is one thing that seems to get on everyones nerves- frames per second. Dynamix made a wonderfully gorgeous engine, but it runs like a snail on all but the top end systems. There are exeptions, but I'n not going to lie to you- you really need a serious computer to run this at good detail levels. I have a P4, GF2 Ultra, and 256MB RDRAM. I get an average of 40fps at maximum detail. I'm lucky. I would reccomend a P3 or Athlon running at 700MHz or more, 128 megs of Ram, and any GeForce2 video card. You'll be fine with that. Anything less and you'll need to lower the settings and resolution a lot to even get playable frame rates. But if you've got the juice, get the game. It's one of the most addictive and immersive games you may ever own. It redefines online teamplay. It is one of the few first person shooters that require brainpower. You owe it to yourself as a gamer to have this work of art on your hard drive. :)

Summary: IMPORTANT PLZ READ!
Review: Before you listen to all the Problems of T2 look at the FACTS Fact 1. (this is how to solve your problems) If you have a VooDoo card then dont even think about buying this game... (my suggestion would be to buy a new card and throw the VooDoo in the trash... get a Geforce2 Ultra like me... cheapest at pricewatch... the entire Geforce2 family is good) As most of us all know 3DFX went down the tube, which means no more driver updates, which in turn means as better games come out the suckier the VooDoo will become) Fact 2 Tribes 2 is simply the BEST game i have EVER played and i have played alot of em' If you have a 500 Mhz + and a Geforce2 card (if you dont i suggest that its time to upgrade) BUY IT. The GAME ROCKS GRAPHICS GAMEPLAY EVERYTHING. Fact 3 If you have a problem with teamplay then i suggest join a clan... T2 is BUILT around clans... Clans = Team = teamwork. dont avoid the game cause of this problem... Join a clan. Even then, not ALL matches in T2 have no teamplay most do. Be a commander. Fact 4 Did i mention T2 ROCKS?! :P If you dont get T2 you will miss out. Reasons to get T2: The Game's graphics are simply AWSOME (must be turned to full or close) need a GeForce2 GREAT community features... built in email, forums, personal warrior page.......... everything that clan warriors would want. T2 is one of a kind: No other game besides Tribes1 & 2 deliver true environments with limitless boundries and vehicle capabilities. Anyone who owned Tribes, UT, or Quake will want T2 Peace OUT! :)

Summary: Great game, But doesn't Live Up to it's Hype
Review: Tribes 2 is a game that can be very addicting and fun, if youget over the massive learning curve, for multiplayer. I love in thisgame ... The downside of this game is that it does not surpass it's predecessor. Tribes 2 doen't even live up to it's hype. There really is no major improvement between tribes 1 and 2. And lastly make sure that you have a powerful computer to run this game. I say minimum requirements in my opinion are 800 mhz and any geforce 2 chip.

Summary: Control and menus awkard
Review: Tribes 2 has several interesting concepts, such as making defending and supporting roles quite important to the game. You will quickly learn that having no one around to repair your generators after the enemy has destroyed them is a very, very bad thing. You can also pilot various ground vehicles (high speed bikes, tanks, mobile bases) and aircraft (fighter, bomber, and troop transport). Unfortunately, the game has three major flaws. First, it has a very limited control system -- you only get to assign one button per action. So, if you try to use your joystick when flying one of the ships and assuming you have set the fire weapon action to the button on your mouse (as do most first person shooters), you must first go into the control panel to enable the joystick button to fire your weapons. Vice versa when you exit the vehicle. Inconvenient in the extreme when you are being shot. Second, most vehicles are very difficult to control and do not react predictably. I personally wonder if the programmers just treated vehicles as very big players, because that is how they drive. Don't expect your aircraft to dive or swoop like in most games -- it is a very limited control system. To add insult to injury, there is no seperate mouse sensitivity between vehicle driving and normal first person movement with your character. This means that if your aircraft decides to inexplicably go into a suicidal dive, you must move your mouse to approximately somewhere in the middle of Egypt before the aircraft responds. Third, this is one mother of a twitch fest. If you are not good at locking onto a 1/6 inch target, you had better settle for a support role. If you don't have the latest hardware and drivers, you are NOT going to be able to keep up with the big outdoor fights.

Review: If you don't have the following, don't purchase this game (amazon just lists a 3D graphics card. That ain't gonna cut it): Peripherals: Direct Input game controllers supported 12MB or better video card Supported Video Cards: Pentium II: 300 MHz w/ GeForce & GeForce 2, Diamond Viper II, Ati Rage 128, or Pentium II: 400 MHz w/ TNT, TNT 2, Radeon, Matrox G400 & G450 Voodoo 3, or Pentium III: 500 MHz w/ Voodoo 2, Voodoo 4, Voodoo 5, Kyro Permedia 3 If you don't know what your video card is, don't purchase this game because you probably don't have a good one.

Review: Tribes 2, sequel to one of my favorite online games, is spectacular. While i can appreciate comments relating to crashing computers, with 1ghz and dsl, have had limited problems. Graphics are phenomenal, and this is easily the best online/offline game i have ever played.

Summary: AWESOME GAME!!!
Review: This Game is sooooooooooooooooo cool! I just recently bought it from the UK and it rocks! It has the same basic gameplay as Starsiege: Tribes and even though the controls are a bit different it is a great game. With the better graphics, solo play, level editor, added tribes, and awesome soundtrack you could sit at your monitor for hours. If you liked the First Tribes or if you are a fan of action games or novice or an expert Tribes 2 is the game for you! BUY IT!!!!!
