Summary: it is great, but it could have been even better
Review: If you haven't spent precious hours of your life playing Commandos 1, you can't fully appreciate this game. My only disappointment is that the authors should have spent more time in making the missions a little bit more difficult. If you played the first Commandos you will find that your team is much more capable of winning and by consequence missions are much easier. The use of the rifle is a big gift given to players. In my opinion you shoot too much instead of looking for more "strategic" and silent way to beat the enemies.
We give credits to the authors for the beautiful settings and the atmosphere of the game.

Summary: good at first
Review: Commandos 2: Men of Courage is a really fun and challenging game. I emphasize the word challenging. By the third level, I was spending hours trying to figure out how to beat it. I finally had to result to a guide to show me how to beat the level. Once I did, the next was even more hard. I gave it a try, but decided it was too hard. If you like really challenging games, and are willing to sit for hours to beat one level, then this game's for you.

Summary: Great Game
Review: I can't stop playing it. And yes, I agree with previous reviews that it is hard, but I kind of like that. I love the concept and the missions. And it's very interesting to see how the characters' abilities are a hinderance or a blessing not from mission to mission, but from room to room. And the completion of each mission can be done so from different approaches so this really enhances the game past the 12 or so missions. Also storing items becomes a whole game in and of itself. I used to think that Starcraft was the best game ever, but this might surpass it.

Summary: A REAL man's game
Review: An incredibly well-crafted game. Be forewarned though...this game is not for beginners. I was warned before I got it, but I was enticed by the challenge. If you're up to it, you'll be well rewarded. You'll know you'll get a big bang out of this game if you can finesse your way through the 2 difficult tutorial missions.

There are many things to accomplish in each mission. This is not a game to rush through. Many missions require that you find the weakest link in a chain of tough defenses. I've completed 3 missions so far, but by taking my time and studying my maneuvers, I already got 2 bonus secret missions out of it - JACKPOT!

My only disappointment, if you can call it that: You can't easily adjust the game to make it even harder without going through the previous missions again at the harder level. Small detail for such a magnificent work. Put all your other trivial games away and make room for this one - a REAL man's game.

Summary: Outstanding Fun!
Review: Need I say more...This is a mentally challenging game that will keep you occupied for hours. Unlike many shoot-em-ups out there, the almost puzzle/chess like quality kept me coming back for more. Sure the interface is a bit cumbersome, but the gameplay seriously overrides this deficiency. Besides, thats what we're all looking for anyway right?: A game that plays well and is enjoyable. If you are ready for a tense thinking man's computer game, look no further.

Summary: Great graphics, terrible game play
Review: Yes, the graphics and the music are great, but what about the game play? Aside from the fact that the controls are not easy to learn, this game features an absolutely ridiculous line of site and AI. Even the graphics do not satisfy when you consider that only 4 camera angles and only 1 camera height is available. This game is a waste of time. If you want to see great visual effects, go to the movies or buy the new Medal Of Honor. If you want a real strategy game with amazing realism and inexhaustibly fun game play, get Combat Mission.

Summary: Frustrating Controls destroy what could be a great game
Review: I am a huge fan of RTS games. Love C&C, Warcraft, Starcraft, Homeworld, but had never played a "squad" type RTS before Commando's 2. The game really intreged me, but alas, I fell prey to frustration almost immediately. I couldn't figure out how to play the game. Once I read the manual, it got better, but not a whole lot. The interface is very unintuitive, and requires the memorization of keyboard commands for virtually every action. And as realistic as the game tries to be, I wasn't impressed. You can throw a grenade and blow up 4 Germans and still (40 minutes later) the same German found not more than 50 feet away, is still smoking a cigarette and hasn't moved an inch. (You'd think the noise would have made him move). OR I hate the fact that your gun has only a 10 foot range. Now that's realistic. Top that off with the frustrating controls, and I put the game down after "training mission number 2" (which isn't a training mission), and I don't foresee picking it up again. Teaches me not to play the demo first.

Summary: Men of Courage without a doubt.
Review: Commandos 2 is a stellar game. The graphics are simply stunning, yet the game offers much more than mere eye candy. This game is definitely not for the beginner, unless he/she possess above average patience. I say this because the game can become quite difficult in many parts, and some missions may seem downright impossible. Don't let this discourage you though, because with practice you will soon be manouvering your troops through windows, up poles, in the water, around in vehicles.

Commandos 2 offers great value and replayability. For those fortunate enough to find the hidden bonuses scattered throughout each mission there are bonus missions to overcome.

All in all this is a great game that will require many hours on your part. This game is definitely worth the money, especially if you have played any of the previous commando titles. The 3D room viewing is quite helpful, and the characters are simply superb.

Enjoy bringing down the axis powers in this compelling stategy game.

Summary: Best WWII game ever!
Review: This game is one of the greatest action packed level game I have ever played. With 10 missions, 10 extra missions, and 2 training missions.

If, however, you haven't played similar games you kight find this game hard. Even the first training mission can be difficult to beginners. But if you read the book, are truely devoted to winning, and ready to show those Axis soldiers what you're made of you'll be fine.

A few things NOT to do in this game are:
1. Ask a friend to help you get through a mission.
Reason: In each mission you will learn certain skills you will need later in the game. If a friend helps you you won't learn the skills.

2. Give up!
Reason: You will never get started again because you'll remember the hard times you had.

Remember to HAVE FUN! After all, it is a game!
