Summary: The Best! You will play it over and over
Review: This game is a significant mark in the gaming history. It has got all the entertainment factors gamer is looking for. Nice graphics, breath taking missions, ease of use, u can play more than one role, sniper, medic, engineer and so on in wonderfull missions of WWII. I have finished the compaigns more than twice, and i find it real fun in multiplayer specially whenever there are more than 6 players! You can share riding a plane with a friend or drive a heavy tank together to crush your enemies. It is a really very nice game!

Summary: Great Game BUT..........
Review: If you are one of the unfortunate few out there that can't get broadband where you live, like me...save your money on this game. It is a GREAT game and I love playing it but when I am at home with my dial-up, I can't stand it much. If you do have Broadband, BUY this game and enjoy it. You will love it. I didn't read many reviews of this game cause I didn't have to but this was to inform you dial-up users. Good Gaming!!

Summary: Would be nice if the game worked
Review: I have tried this game on 3 different computers. All with the min. requirements and nothing. I have nephew that got the game for Xmas, its still sitting on the shelf because it will not work on his computer either.
These are all Win98 O/S with XP-1800 or better processors, 512meg ram, and with at least 64meg video cards. Everytime I call the computer they want you to spend money to try and get it to work. I am sadly disappointed in this game. I have been told that if it works its really nice to play... but... i have not seen it yet....
:(
a very unhappy customer

Summary: Hmmmm
Review: Well everyone talks graphics but frankly I am not impressed with the graphical detail... Go play Unreal Tournament if you want graphics... UT2K3 has bragging rights in terms of graphical engines... This game does not. Graphics are nice but I'd like it more if the geometrical details were higher... Maybe new maps have better graphics who knows. Everyone seems to love the desert maps even tough they have no detailing and are boring as hell (maybe it's because lower end computers don't have trouble with them and everyone plays them online).

Regardless, the feel of the game is what makes it cool. The sniper rifle feels more real than the CS one for example. Not all shots are gonna score a kill simply because you had the dot on the guy. You need to have a good position (crouched for exapmle) to score kills. Also the movements are more realistic and you don't have players bunny-hopping all over the place. That's also good.

I have 2.2 Ghz 256 mb ram (I'm getting 256 more today because of this game) and ATI 9100 card. I get good FPS maxed out at 1024. If you want to buy the game first make sure you have at least 512 ram otherwise it's really not worth it...

I think this game was meant to be enjoyed on a 3.0 Ghz computer.... Maybe next year when I'll upgrade I'll write a new review.

Summary: Hard to beat gaming value
Review: What can I say; this game is a dream comes true. Anyone, who ever played war games as kid, and still harbors that inner child, will revel in this playground. Considering how much fun and entertainment you'll get, this cost for these games is a fantastic bargain. It's like paying 10 cents to get into a theme park and ride free all day.

Summary: The best WW2 Game out there
Review: This game is simpely awesome. The controls, the graphics and the chacter models and the online aspect. There all Just great. 1st off id like to say, this game is the best for MMOG(massive mulitplayer online gameing) I meen, someone runs a server 20 people connect and shoot eachother. Theres rarely lag or anything of that sort. Its just hours of fun. Second, the controld in this game are very fluid and easy to use. The chacter models are second to none, i meen, look how realistic it looks. My Only complent is its very graphicly dammanding. I have a P4 at 2.0ghz, but run it at 2.37ghz, 512mb of system ram and an Geforce4 Ti4600 with 132mb ram and at max settings it still managed to lag my comp. But that was easily fixed by not running it at maxium settings. So, for anyone that just wants to have fun killig other people in a WW2 setting, or for you hard core gamers like my self, id deffnaily reccmond this game.

Summary: Absolutely Amazing
Review: Battlefield: 1942 is perhaps one of the most immersive and interactive games I have played. With 5 different character classes and over 13 vehicles, you can do almost anything you want. You can get into anything that moves. Both the singleplayer missions and online play are extraordinary. However,if you are interested in playing online, I would also by the expansion, Battlefield: 1942 Road to Rome, as that is what most of the other players are using. The only downside to this game is that you can only truly enjoy it if you have a fast computer, I would reccommend a processor of 2.0 Ghz or greater with 256-512 MB RAM. Overall, an excellent game, and probably the finest war simulation I have ever played.

Summary: This game rocks!
Review: First of all, the physics are not terrible. The game doesn't have "auto-aim" like RTCW, plus if you move AT ALL, your accuracy goes way down. This is visually represented by your crosshairs, which widen when you are moving to reflect the wide spread of possible bullet locations. When you are stationary, your crosshairs narrow to almost a pinpoint, so you can have deadly accuracy.

People who say, "I run across an enemy and empty a clip and they drop me with one shot" know nothing about the game. You can't hit jack while running unless you are quite experienced and learn both how to work around the bullet spread factor as well as your own personal lag to the server you are on.

As for planes, most of the good pilots come from flight sims, and call the plane physics and controls adequate but overly simplistic. Almost nobody says the planes are too hard, unless they are using old 1980's arcade games as their reference point.

And as far as no teamwork goes, what sever are the naysayers playing on? I have no idea. The EA servers have friendly fire off, and the private servers usually have a moderator that will kick or ban troublemakers.

The demo is fun and will give you an idea of the game's possibilities, but please note that there have been several patches which improve the netcode and adjust the weapons balance. Don't bother with the single player demo - the developers have said all along this game was written to be a multiplayer game. The single player mode is basically just for practice.

The few bad reviews give a false impression of the game. Buy it NOW - but be prepared to be glued to your PC.
