Rating: Summary: COMMAND AND CONQUER AT ITS BEST! Review: Command and Conquer: Generals is the best Command and Conquer game ever, hands down. The graphics are awesome, the music is great, and the sound effects are something else. When you blow up a GLA truck, you see the guy flying off and hear him scream until he hits the ground. That's just one of the subtle additions to this game that make it their best. When in doubt, BUY THIS GAME!
Rating: Summary: A twist on a good thing. Review: C&C Generals when looked at as a whole is a good, solid, fun game. It is the first graphicaly pleasing C&C game, besides Renegade which really wasnt a RTS. It finally put new life into the C&C line that Tiberium Sun and Renegade didn't. The game play has a different feel, with in game cut scenes looking much like Warcraft III and Age of Mythology. Yet it still keeps its own style with some differences from the last C&C game. However, C&C Generals may have become a bigger title then it deserved from all the hype. Don't expect this to be a revolutionary type of game, it sticks to the basics that it has used for years, nothing extremely different or new. And to view it at its best you will need a good rig. Its a good RTS, like I said, solid, and if your a fan of the previous C&C games or if you like RTS styled games I would recomend it.
Rating: Summary: Mediocre at best Review: I'm a big fan of the C&C series but Generals isn't the same game at all. There is absolutely no storyline. Aside from a few scripted events here and there, you might as well be playing a Skirmish against the Artificial "Intelligence." The pathing is terrible. Worst I've seen since the original Age of Empires. Units have a terrible tendency to move in single-file lines or get stuck on each other, especially in the very cramped maps. They will also just sit there getting shot at if the enemy is out of thier range. Damage and rate of fire need to be adjusted across the board. If Iraq had mobile launchers that could fire Anthrax-loaded SCUDS every 5 seconds... On the other hand, the graphics and music are great.
Rating: Summary: Unhappy Review: To tell you the truth, I'm flat out dissappointed. With all the hype I've been hearing about this game and how excited I was leading up the game coming out to buy it and play it is just unbelievable what I saw. The graphics are poor, maybe a little better than previous Command and Conquers. And you need so many requirements on your pc to make the game run the way it should. Overall I'm highly highly disspointed. And as a matter of fact I've already sold the game to a buddy of mine. So do yourself a favor and borrow it from a friend and check it out before you go and blow 40 bucks on a game thats worth about 10.
Rating: Summary: Hardware Review: This game does not work well with ATI Radeon cards. I have a 7200 64mg card along with more than enough to cover the specs and the game was choppy and slow. Come to find out its a programming bug, apparently the designers prefer nvidia. What I was able to experience was not overly exciting anyway, save your money people!
Rating: Summary: This game bites the dust. I'm ashamed of EA. Review: This game is a definate dissapointment, i've played some of the early C&C games, the most recent being Tiberiun Sun and Red Alert 2. In both you were engaged in a great and thought out story line in which you were face to face with great and familiar actors. And thats why i bought this gam,e not for multiplayer(although i was planning on playing multiplayer) and yet there no story line what so ever. You go mission by mission with a loading screen that says - Many comrades have fallen - Take out enemy so and so - Then destroy so and so I was looking forward to seeing amazong cut scened of MiGs striking down enemy scud launchers and working with the President in taking out an enemy terrorist threat. Now i'm not gonna sit here and downplay the entire game, the single player missions are nthought out and well made, but the campaigns are short as far as i know don't have an auotmatic save, what i mean by this is if you leave while at mission 5 expecting to see a list of all the mission on which you can select the on you wanted to play, you wouldn't find one, i found this out the hard way about 4 missions into the U.S. campaign. So the next day when i decided to try multiplayer i entered my birth date, pass, nick ect. and hit create account only to find a scren pop-up every time saying "This password is incorrect". How can the freakin password be incorrect if it hasn't been made yet. I messed around with the password making sure to make alot of letters in case you need a certain amount, and tried only numbers and only letters and still nothing. So i've yet to play multiplayer and the this game hasn't kept me entertained for a week, guess i'll have to stick with starcraft and Westwood's Red Alert 2. And by the way don't get W3, its a maor dissapointment too.
Rating: Summary: Good Game, but need supercomputer to run it!!! Review: I like the 3d effects, but why do they have to up the requirements SO high. I mean my computer can run AOM, why can't it run this better. It's like they want to force you to buy a new Video card or something!
Rating: Summary: "THE BEST C@C EVER!" Review: "I Love this game",If you want a fast pace, adrenalin pumping, fast thinking RTS look no further. Generals is it! USA,China, and GLA all ready to battle it out on your PC.(There are three different covers you can buy, I suggest you pick up the USA cover, it has the best detail as well as being the best side in the game.)
Rating: Summary: I miss RA2:YR Review: RA2:YR is probably my favorite game ever. I have played every C&C game since the first one. I even used to play the original Dune 2, which is what C&C was based on. This is the first C&C game to disappoint me. It was changed too much. Gameplay is just not up to par. C&C:Renegade isn't good either. I hope this trend doesn't continue. :(
Rating: Summary: EA ruined it! Review: The 3D looks good, but you need a super computer to play this. Why not keep it simple? It's the gameplay that counts, not flashy buildings. The interface BLOWS! The little decorative designs around the interface should have been removed to reveal more vital screen. Unless you have a fast computer with a nice video card, you're stuck with low resolutions, leaving you with a narrow view of the battlefield. Also, it's incredibly buggy. And I miss the signature cheesy FMVs. Instead, we get slow realtime cinematics that can't be skipped. A final word. EA, BUG OUT! Westwood had a great franchise, now EA ruined it.
