Summary: not compatible
Review: Medal of Honor - Allied Assault works fine on my computer, but Spearhead doesn't run. Some sort of OpenGL compatibility problem.
I have a Geforce 2 MX video card. Electronic Arts is no help at all in resolving this problem. If I could return the game, I would.

Review: The phrase "EA Games" should be enough to summarize my entire review. Another typical EA entry, but this time it truly showed who was behind the game. Unlike the original Medal of Honor Allied Assault (MOHAA), which was developed by 2015 studios, Spearhead was entirely created by a special wing of EA Games; quite possibly the recipe for complete disaster.
Tragically the single player was a relative disaster. "How can he say this about a Medal of Honor game?" you ask. Well, actually it is quite simple. Compared to the original, this expansion lacks in every way possible. It is the typical approach by a company more concerned about the bottom line than how the game turns out. Playing off the inherent popularity of MOHAA, EA thought that they could save money by doing the entire game on their own this time. What occurred was simply a travesty of the MOHAA name, a series that once boasted about being very "playable". Instead of making a large number of missions that are challenging, but still able to beat in one or two tries; EA reduced the number of missions (and sub-missions) drastically. In order to compensate for this, they turned up the amount and frequency of computer controlled enemies. What they were left with was a horrible (and often unbearable) single player game. Where the player is often forced to run gauntlet after gauntlet of enemy fire, meanwhile, trying to baby-sit semi-... squad mates (any of those who have played the second mission will understand).
Conversely, the multiplayer was a very pleasant surprise for me. While the single player left me seething and wanting the blood of all those at EA, the multiplayer was a welcome and refreshing change. It is quite obvious where the work was put into this game. Unlike most expansions, Spearhead has undergone a complete facelift and even a little tinkering behind the scenes. The maps are much bigger, and the overall game play is more than satisfying.
In short, if you have a fast internet connection and are willing to shell out for the game you won't be disappointed. However, if you are among those who have played the single player campaign of MOHAA (and are expecting this one to compare) and do not have an internet connection, you will most likely feel cheated out of your money.

Summary: Doesn't add much to the original...
Review: This review applies only to the single-player version of the game, and not to the multi-player variation. Even though the precursor to this game was released more than a year ago, nothing has really changed. The new expansion pack is very short, and will be finished by most gamers in several sittings. Very little new has been added to the game, with the exception of some new weapons and Russian soldiers. The interface and gameplay remain the same. Also, while seeming great a year ago, the linear gameplay nature of this game now seems antiquated. After playing such free-form games as Grand Theft Auto, games such as Spearhead seem lacking in many respects.

Summary: Five Stars for FUN!!!
Review: I absolutely loved Allied Assault so I also was extremely excited to hear about Spearhead. I agree with everyone else who says that the game is too short but can you honestly say that this expansion or basically extra missions which is about what the expansion pack amounts to were not extremely FUN!!! Personally I found some of the missions to be the best of the entire allied assault game period, for example the stage where you blow the bridge up. I mean sure the game is pretty short, but it's not pathetic or anything. I personally am extremely satisfied with Spearhead and feel that I got my money's worth.
I also love to play online as well and have not noticed any lag issues that some of you speak of. I do run a cable modem, but is that not what you were referring to? I have no lag what so ever. The new multiplayer missions are the bomb! I highly recommend this game to anyone who loved MOHAA. I personally give the game 5 stars. However I can see where some people may have been disappointed with the length of the game. The bare minimum that this game would ever deserve is 3 1/2 stars, and that would have to be from someone who really doesn't care for MOH. Plain and simple, for me at least, Medal of Honor Allied Assault with Spearhead Expansion is my personal favorite game PERIOD. The only other expansion pack that could change my mind in the upcoming near future would have to be the Wolfenstein expansion, time will tell, I do hope that there is a little more to that however.

Summary: Excellent game but to short
Review: When I first started playing spearhead I was very imperessed. But before I knew it the game was over I think it cost alot for just nine singleplayerlevels. Plus it seems more of a windows xp recommended game if you ask me. At first I played it on a pentium three with 128 ram windows 2000 and it didn't run well at all. Since I play on a pentium 4 with 512 ram in it. But I loved the single player levels on it the gun graphics were outstanding.

Summary: Great game
Review: This was an awesome game. It had unbelievable Graphics. The most shocking sound I've heard in a long time. Here are some things I like about the graphics and sound.

Graphics- Great gun detail, awesome damage after explosions, People look so real.

Sound- Awesome explosion sound effects, all guns sound real, Cool Germain screams.

I took one star off because that is one of the shortest games I've ever played. It only has 9 levels. That is the only downfall of this great game. Despite how short it is this is one of the best games I've ever played.

Summary: Work Needed
Review: This game was long awaited by most gamers obssessed by WWII 1st person shooters, but don't get your hopes up. This expansion pack is far too short in single player, with no improvment from the problems of the previous game.
There are sound problems with rifle fire, and extreme lag on virtually all multiplayer servers, regardless of their speeds. This lag simply didn't exist before for gamers with a cable modem.
Furthermore, filter selection for "ommitting full servers" does not work in multiplayer, a serious "oops".

The game was released with much work needing to be done.

The story line is a plus, for even though it is fiction, it is set behind the historical backdrop events of the end of WWII. When the rifle sound does work, it sounds great.

Finally, the largest drawback to this game is in its multiplayer, where vitually any kind of cheat and modification can be implemented simply on the server hosting the game, thereby removing almost any fun from the multiplayer. This is somewhat common in most multiplayer games, but it was exceptionally ramapant in Spearheads predecesor. There's always someone cheating or rigging (with mods) in some form or fashion. As mentioned earlier, this was a serious drawback to Allied Assualt, where the person with the most cheats was the winner. The cheats were all over the web, and relatively easy to implement. Unfortuneatly has not been made right in the expanision pack. In other words, if you are a long-time first-person mode gamer - skip it.

Summary: Good graphics, poor gameplay
Review: I bought Spearhead as soon as I could. I should have waited. I don't do a lot of multiplayer (high-speed net access is unavailable) so I really wanted to play the singleplayer missions. I finished them in one weekend. I know, it's an expansion pack, but I hoped it would have "expanded" the MOH playing experience. It didn't. Spearhead is basically a sequel, not an expansion like Clone Wars was for Galatic Battlegrounds or all the Sims expansions. Too bad.

Summary: Great game for all FPS fans!
Review: The new expansion is well worth its money! I bought the new game and it has great features, new weapons, and skins. There are 3 new single player campaigns and 10+ new multiplayer maps. The Axis weapons are pretty much the same but if you choose Allies, you get all new weapons corresponding to the player (British, Russian, or American). Graphics are amazing, even on a 32MB GeForce 2 MX card! Recommended for all Medal of Honor and FPS fans!
