Rating: Summary: Incredible Game Review: This is the amazing squel to the first FPS ever made, Wolfenstein 3D. But you all know that.Gameplay: 10 out of 10. I love the HUD and the overall game set-up. It runs perfectly smoothly on my PC. Graphics: 10 out of 10. Extremely detailed terrain. Huge maps. But the guns and reload animation are poor. But those are such little things that I couldn't give it less than a 10. Sound: 9 out of 10. The sound is great, the weapons, the zombies, the electricty, nazi screams, its all good. I had to give it a 9 cause Activision got rid of the real german voices and added german accented english... Single Player: 8 out of 10. No real storyline... plus it was way too short... Multi-player: 10 out of 10. This has the best MP action since Unreal Tourny. Lots of action packed fun! Value: 10 out of 10. Its worth every penny! Overall: 9.5 out of 10. One of the best games I've ever played. I still cant deside which game i like better though- NOLF or RTCW...
Rating: Summary: It's decent, but it's not worth upgrading your computer for. Review: In my opinion, I wasted my money upgrading my computer at a cost of nearly $600 to play this game in it's 'full glory.' Although it is a nice game, it certainly doesn't live up to any hype and in many aspects it feels like a rehash of Doom and the Quake series. ... I spent $350 on an Xbox and Halo, and I can say without a doubt that was the best investment I ever made in the games industry.
Rating: Summary: Best game since Half-Life Review: This game was awesome! It truelly was. I just got this for christmas and immediately dove into it. The graffics are astonishing. The realism and detail to everything is amazing, which is hard to find now a days. Everything from the sliencer over heating on your sten to the gondala which gave me a look back at movies like "Where eagles dare". You will love this game as soon as you start into it.
Rating: Summary: the greatest Multiplayer game of ALL time Review: BAR NONE i'm still addicted after months of playing. My wife HATES this game. She's barely seen me since Christmas....
Rating: Summary: Less than expected... Review: With other first person shooters like Aliens vs. Predator 2 out and legacy shooters with rich story like Half-Life and superb graphics like Unreal, the bar is set pretty high these days for this game genre. Return to Castle Wolfenstein has stormed onto the scene in recent months to much fanfare, but I don't think it deserved what it got. Many people talk of its superb graphics, but I was unimpressed. The game is very noir, every level is a dimly lit something-or-other. There are no vibrant high contrast awe inspiring scenes. They are all dark. This is probably because in low contrast you can get away with fewer polygons per scene. The rendering engine looks to be the same unimproved Quake3 one which on all my nVidia-based cards create strange patterns in the textures up close. What shocked me the most though was the AI. It's terrible. Low on health? Thinking of sneaking around so you aren't heard? Forget about it. There is even a mission that requires stealth, and I thought I was being clever using the trees as cover and crawling along so that the guy in the sniper tower wouldn't notice me... Doesn't work. The AI in this game is about as the most simplistic I've seen in a recent game. Even the very little things were missed in this game. The hot spot of the pointer in the menus is so far off the arrow tip that you can easily miss menu items. They don't save more than one quicksave so when you find out that you were seen 20 seconds ago right before you quick saved (on a mission where you are supposed to get around without being seen), you are in serious trouble and may end up falling back on an autosave that is an entire level back. The only reason I don't give this game 1 star is that the multiplayer is lots of fun. It isn't original or notably different from any multiple class mod for the other first person shooters, but I still find it fun.
Rating: Summary: Return to Castle Wolfenstein Review: Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a first person shooter with a good but very short single player and a fantastic multiplayer gameplay. It is not a sequel to wolfenstein3d, It is a remake with an expansion pack. The game does not start where the first game ended. Like the first game rtcw starts with the soldier escaping from the prison in the nazi castle but does not end when he get out of the castle. Set during the world war II, You play B.J. Blazkowicz an american soldier captured and imprisoned in a nazi castle. He escapes from there but discoveres strange things that the agency wants to stop the nazis from creating thier evil experiments, They send Blacz on many missions to destroy the robotic soliders, The ending was dissapointing. The story is told through lots of cutsences between the missions, But the cutsences are boring as the charecters are just talking and the hero does not appear in any of them. The single player gameplay is very short with about 25 levels in seven missions. The gameplay is good and fighting the nazis and the sten gun female gaurds are great, but the robotic soldiers, zombies were are very dull, It is also quite dissapointing to see zombies and robots in this game. Level design is very good and there are lots of secret passages and most of them remind me of the thief games. The levels are also quite hard to complete, shooter missions are very good but the stealth missions are dull and quite frustrating. In one mission you must kill all the nazi officers without sounding the alarm, It was very frustrating. The boss levels and the ending levels are very hard. Enemy AI is ofcourse not as good half-life or no one lives forever but they are impressive, They react well if you snipe their partners, throw a grenade near them and to sounds ect. Return to Castle Wolfenstein is created on the quake3 engine but the game looks like it is created on the max payne engine. The graphics and sound are very good, The german outdoor hilly environment is very beautifull. The charecter animation is great, They look and behave like real humans, Sometimes their caps will fall down, female gaurds will dive on the floor when dogging gun fire. But still the graphics were a little dissapointing to me, There are not much blood in the game. The game is very violent, you do feel like you are killing real humans but there are not much blood and gore like half-life or kingpin. The selection of weapons is good, Able to use your leg to kick and break objects is good because you do not need to switch to the knife to break a box in case you want to save ammo, you could just kick it and break it. But the weapons damage is dissapointing they should have been a little more powerfull, Flame thrower is almost usless in the single player. Rtcw's multiplayer gameplay is really great, deathmatch or ai controlled bots are not here but you will not miss them. Though almost everything besides voting is the same as Team Fortress it is great to play with better graphics and a better looking flame thrower.
Rating: Summary: I got adicted to this game! Review: I just loveit! full action. My wife has to kick me out of my chair to stop playing. Good graphics, sound and effects.
Rating: Summary: I played the original Review: I was in college when the orignal Wolfenstein came out. I spent many late nights playing that game. I couldn't believe it when I heard they were remaking it with today's gaming technology. It turned out better than I could have imagined. The graphics are unbelievable! Excellent game.
Rating: Summary: Great Game!!!! Review: This is one of the coolest games I've ever played. It's like World War II meets the X files . The AI is amazing. Whlie one use's covering fire to pin you down, onther sneaks up behind you and opens fire at point blank. The graphics, oh man! The character models are awesome. I recomend this for at least 11 and up. AWESOME GAME!
