Summary: RTCW - Can't wait for the retail version
Review: I have been literally hooked on the multiplayer test version. Although this test version only runs a single scenario (beach assault) I find myself hitting the pillow well after midnight. I have been a Wolfenstein gamer since the very first FPS game from Apogee. The utilization of the Q3 engine with this game makes similar games pale in comparison. I am extremely anxious for the Nov. 6 release. I WANT MY WOLF-EN-STEIN!!!

Summary: The Perfect Game
Review: Yep, I remeber playing Wolfenstein 3D on the old 100 and something computer with my old video and sound card. I still play it, but obivisouly on a faster computer. I downloaded the multiplayer demo thinking to be a tiny bit impresed. I rarely play demos and never get impressed by them. But, then I played Return To Castle Wolfenstein and saw the perfect game. The Flamethrower visual effect is perfect and looks so realistic. All of my friends love this game and this has become the first game I have become addicted to since Soul Calibur came out and then it was Super Mario Bros. I reccomend this is game to everyone and don't listen to the people that say that it sucks without gore. Metal Gear Solid did not gore and it is one of the greatest games of all time. It is not gore that makes any game, it is the gameplay and graphics.

Summary: Couldn't they improve anything in two years?
Review: RTCW looks, feels, even sounds like Quake 3 -- which isn't surprising considering it uses the Quake 3 engine. What is surprising is that everything that I hated about Quake 3 is to be found in RTCW two years after Quake 3 came out. Didn't they learn about the mistakes that were made and have time to do something about them?

Apparently not. RTCW has the same worthless in-game multiplayer game browser. (Luckily Gamespy exists to get around this problem.) RTCW has the same terrible networking code, so you'd better hope you have a lossless connection. The game locks up (i.e., no way to quit except to kill the program in Windows) for anywhere from a few seconds to a couple minutes when it encounters certain network problems, which in 2001 should be entirely unacceptable. It remains to be seen if RTCW will have the same horrendous problems with different client/server version numbers. Finally, even playing on 1.5 GHz Pentium 4 machines with 256 MB RAM and NVidia GeForce2 gfx cards, RTCW can't help being jerky at times, such as when using the machine guns as Axis.

As for gameplay, there really isn't anything new here. If you have Quake3, don't bother with RTCW: Quake 3 was bad enough, and RTCW is not any better. Anyone thinking of buying this should certainly at least try out the demo first; I was very disappointed.

Summary: Wow!
Review: Like everyone else I've only tried the Multiplayer Test. The graphics are incredible. It is very similar to the engine Quake 3 Arena uses, but better. The Multiplayer is really smooth and really good and its just a beta. You get sick of the beach map, but its still fun to play, When this game comes out I'm going to rip it right off the shelves. The single player is going to be really cool and will have tons of more maps for us to use. Overall I'm sure not many will be disappointed in this game when the retail version comes out. Yet, another great fps by ID.

GO AMERICA!

Summary: Addiction at it's best
Review: I don't know what the guy with the 1 star is smoking, but this game is just awesome. When you have all the eye candy turned on, it's a visual treat. Details are amazing, from the air strikes, and the constant shaking of the ground because of them. (the flame thrower....fire is so real and beautiful). sort of like being thrown back in time.

If you like team based shooters, this is it. running around bunkers, defending, or storming enemy strong holds and it's all classic stuff (weapon wise of course). another thing, the objectives for each team are pretty clear and i think it helps the team based. i haven't played one game yet where it doesn't require team work to win. sure it's not quake 3 but hey it's using a more refined engine and who here has not heard of WWII.

try out the test release - demo. it will give you a feel for it, but when the final release is out....some of those maps are going to rock.

Summary: Pretty good but hardware raping
Review: Yeah its a pretty good game and i've played the mp testdemo very much the last weeks, but im afraid that my hardware is not capable of this game. Ive got an athlon 1400 and gf2gts, and when im outside in the beachmap my frames run down to 30, no matter if i choose low detail or high.
I hope it's because of the beta status, if not i wonder what id did with the q3 engine..........

Summary: Multi-player test version
Review: I downloaded the multiplayer demo of this game on Saturday and couldn't turn it off. The test version was one map, the beachfront from D-day. It's setup just like an "assault" from quake 3:arena. You've got a time limit do either infiltrate the base and steal the war documents or defend the base depending on which team you are. There are 4 classes of units (soldier, medic, engineer, lieutenant). Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. Engineers are the only ones who can plant and disarm dynamite. Medics can heal injured players, lieutenants can call for airstrikes and give out ammo. Soldiers are the only class that has access to all the two-handed weapons.

The graphics are incredible. Very detailed and the game ran very smoothly. I can not wait until the full version of this game comes out. The single player promises to be solid but the multiplayer is where this game will shine.

Summary: Great Game
Review: Although this game is TONS of fun, it gets old after a short amount of time. If you ask me, the number one game is still Counter-Strike.

Summary: Insane
Review: This may be the best first person shooter that I have seen and played. It not only eclipses Medal of Honor, Rouge Spear, Rainbow Six, SWAT 3, Unreal Tournament, and Tribes 2, but it looks amaizing. The Single player plot may sound a little unoriginal, but the multiplayer test was sweet. I was a little disapointed with the lack of vehicle control, but I think being able to immolate your enemies with a flame-thrower, kind of balances it out.

Summary: Huh? Are you people blind?
Review: Ok, first of all the ideas for Castle Wolfenstein are not new. Download a free copy Day of Defeat and you'll see where Castle Wolfenstein got the ideas for it's "New" game....I'm a diehard fan of the Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake line, and if I don't see something better soon I'll have to place this game with my Quake 3 (yawn) -in the trash.
