Summary: Disgrace? or Rememberance?
Review: First let me say the following -
I made a review on the PS2 game called Conflict Desert Storm.
and here I am again to review "DF-BHD".
I am a veteran and I will say that I am in the company of many "heros" and those heros are the men and women who have served this country to defend the very same opinions, which are shared in this forum about a game which had caused great debate.

Any veteran who has served, will "relate" and understand the "pros and cons" of games being made by real life experiences.

I think game programers have made an honest attempt to let the public experince what "WE" the veterans of previous wars have experienced, simliar to those movie directors who also make an "Honest" attempt in recreating events which veterans have experenced.
For many in the general public, many will not be able to serve and this gives them a chance to "respect and acknowledge" the sacrifices made by "America's Heroes".
It also gives them the chance to be a "quiet hero" without giving that "Ultimate Sacrific" which MANY of our Veterans have done so before me.
I believe that games done well, in this aspect, not only assist the public in understanding what the veterans went through and experinced.
War is Horrible and not to be taken lightly. Ever!

I understand that NOT many will agree with movie directors or game programers, but isn't it funny that Novalogic used "special ops" personnel for "advice" on this game?
To make sure they "got it right"?
and right they did....
How can Mark Bowen, the author of "Black Hawk Down" say a game shouldn't have been made?
Did he disagree when they wanted to make his book into a movie?
He also made sure they "got it right"?
and did they?....

and now the game review --

I will say this, this game is outstanding!
It has several elements in which makes the action "take you in" and then you become a part of what IS frightening and surreal.
This is what war is actually about, for they are both.

You have to use tactics and thought to guide your TEAM across several levels and to complete a mission.
You have full usage of Military equipment and use them to protect and defend your TEAM, UN, and various Military units, as well as civilans.

The graphics are outstanding and are fluid,I exprienced no
"pops or lags" or "breaks" in game play.
Blackhawks, little birds, and Hummers are well drawn and shaded.
Surrounding landscapes and weather, are right on the money.
When you look up and fire at windows and the sun is in the line of fire, it does get in your eyes, and effects your actions.

The SEFX's were superb and life like.
If you have a sound system like I do, 5.1 digital surround for a computer, you will rock!!

The AI, enemy and TEAM are outstanding, similair to MOH:AA. Only better.
Radio traffic and ambient noise added to the enivornment of battle.

The music soundtrack adds well to the game play and fits RIGHT IN!!

The game controls are easy and quickly adaptable.
A game card section is added in the box, to be placed over the keys to assist you in finding the right controls and what toggles what in the game.
Also included, is a booklet which explains the actions for which our Rangers and 10th Mountain served and experienced in Somolia, as well as a timeline for the events.
This "litle bit" of history adds to the respect given to these personnel who were there.

I will be honest, I have not played the previous DF games, for I only played the Demo version of this game, with all it faults, because it was just that, a Demo.
I was still hooked and once I purchased the REAL DEAL, I was NOT disappointed, nor will you.

I would recommend this game to all those who wish to play it.
This Veteran doesn't mind real life combat created or made into games.
As long as they are done well and can have a "respect" to those who have served.
Games which are authentic and not "Hollywood BS" styled are the games which I shall review, and I shall give you gamers a "REAL Opinion" of a military game.

So, "Saddle up and move out" and prepare for a gaming experience you will not soon forget.

"Out"

Summary: . . . A Grade A First-Person Shooter. . .
Review: I picked up a copy of "Black Hawk Down" yesterday, and I couldn't FORCE myself to stop playing it, even for a moment. Think of this game as "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault," but instead of all those World War II trappings, it's Somalia circa 1993. It rises head and shoulders above previous games in Novalogic's "Delta Force" series, with its heavily scripted action and furious combat sequences. Building-to-building combat is some of the best and most furious I've ever encountered (and I consider myself an AVID first-person shootist). You will literally feel like you are there in Mogadishu as the bullets zip past your head - it's like taking a step inside the awesome Ridley Scott film (albeit with a 'Teen' rating). "Black Hawk Down" suffers from a few issues with enemy and friendly AI, some minor graphical glitches, and some inappropriate one-liners, but all in all, it's not a game to miss. Do yourself a solid and pick up a copy ASAP.

Summary: this is a great game
Review: This game is totally awsome. The graphics are great and the gameplay is also. If you are looking for the best first person shooter you have ever seen this is the game for you. Everything from the weapons you can use in the field to the extensive detail of a helicopter makes this game great. You get every penny worth for this game. I highly reccomend buying this game not only for its great price of about fourty bucks but also its replay value. Right now this game is in the top ten of my gaming list next to Topm Clancy's new rainbow six, Raven Shield

Summary: Based on the demo
Review: I'm really not impressed. Yeah, the graphics are good (if you have the computer to support it) but the overall fun value is very low for the single player mission. It's just a bit too easy to kill the enemy (almost like using auto-aim). How can one shot to the abdomen take a man down so easily? Plus, you can't control how far grenades are thrown. There's way too many scripted elements in the game... for instance, if you don't kill this guy first with the RPG, then you die. If you don't kill this guy that runs around the corner, then the hostages die. It's just too scripted and not a very customizable pre-mission setup.

Summary: Short Review..but to the point
Review: This is definetly one of the better first person shooters to come out in a while. The graphics are as good as they say, although I haven't compared them to Raven Shield yet. The weapons, scenery, story, its all there. Its the kind of game you'll get into quickly. However I wrote this review to echo the previous ones..you BETTER have a good system to run this game! WOW does it eat up slower systems.

I'm playing it on a Dell 8200, 2.8ghz, Geforce 4 Ti 4600, 512MB RDRAM, Windows XP PRO, and still had some slow spots. I guess a 3.06 ghz HT P 4 with a Radeon 9800 PRO is a requirement to avoid ALL lag.

So here we have a great game, but heavy requirements. IF youve got the power go for it!

Summary: Delta Force Series Finally Redeemed
Review: Graphics 9/10
Audio 10/10
Gameplay 9/10
Difficulty 8/10
Learn-curve Moderate

This game will quickly get your heart racing as your 'Little Bird' drops you off in the middle of Somolia during a fierce fire-fight. You scramble up steps and begin tossing flash grenades into rooms filled with thugs carrying RPG's and machine guns. Think fast and shoot to kill or your're toast! I loved this first person demo and will promptly purchase the game when it hits stores Mar. 24. It easily surpasses other favorites of mine including Red Faction, Medal of Honor, and the older D-Force series. The game plays perfectly (honest!) on my Dell Notebook with 1.6 Ghz, 512 RAM, and GeForce 440 GO (32 Mg). Have a blast!!

Review: This great first person rpg game brings warlife to life and alows you to do extrodinary things but the greatest thing of all in this game is that you can ride in the helicopters while shooting. I hope that more than 78%of you people will buy this game I myself have just got the very first copy released in the world because I have a little thing that will alow me to buy stuff that hasn't even been released or sometimes right after the company creates it, too bad you dont have it, later man.

Summary: Will blow you away...
Review: I played this at the mall a few days ago. A company that tours the country promoting PC and console games had a large display at our mall with approximately 20 stations, and at each station was a console (PS2,Xbox,Gamecube) and also a couple of "Alienware" PC's both running Black Hawk Down.

Let me say that this is the coolest game I have ever played (albeit for a limited time). It felt just like the movie as you ride in a "little bird" to your first objective. The combat was intense as you try to shoot the guys w/ RPG's and try to stop them from shooting your bird down. It took several tries, but eventually I made it to the ground and got killed shortly thereafter.
Instead of a scope like in the earlier Delta Force games, you get an Aimpoint, just like the real DF guys use. Even though my playing time was somewhat limited, it was great fun. Can't wait for it to come out on PS2 (hopefully!!)

One note though, the game was a little choppy at the beginning, and that was on a fully decked out Alienware PC! If you have a "pip squeak" powered PC like me, I wouldn't even bother buying for the PC. Also, shooting from the bird, you couldn't hear your M4 firing all the time. Maybe it was because of the helicopters noise?? Maybe they'll fix these when the game rolls out.

Summary: RPG
Review: The Demo for BHD was the best demo i ever have played. You come in with RPG's comming from everywhere. It is very realistic. At least you get team members unlike the other delta force games. The Graphics are good, and it is fun. I have heard good reviews from gamespy and other sources. In the first level you are a 10th mountian soldier in a convoey. And you have to save a un convoey that has broken down in the city. And it is intense. The whole game is intense. The 3rd movie even shows a black hawk being shot down. I enjoyed the demo, and the rest of the game looks even better.
