Rating: Summary: Best Delta Force Game Review: Having finished DF:BHD, I'm glad to say that this was every bit the game I'd been hoping for. The demos were very impressive, but they really hold nothing on the rest of the game. This game literally puts you into the middle of a warzone; friendlies and enemies everywhere, helicopters flying overhead, dust kicking up with every bullet and spin of helicopter rotors, radios abuzz with almost continuous chatter, the list goes on and on. The levels are huge, and look straight like something out of a third-world country, and objectives are many and varied. The team at Novalogic did an amazing job on the levels themselves. There are so many memorable moments throughout, like the "Irene" mission, where you ride an MH-6 all the way from your base to the Olympic hotel. As you move over the hills into the city, the air fills with gunfire, explosions and radio chatter. Civilians run through the streets as militia fire RPG's and AK-47's at you. And this is all before the mission really begins. There are so many other amazing moments throughout the game. Not to say that there are a few problems. I had some slowdown on my system while in vehicles. This wasn't as much of a problem during groundfighting, though. Also, the game was a bit too short. This is tempered however, by the multiplayer and the fact that you'll want to play the single player missions many more times. And don't listen to those who complain about the moronic AI. True, the enemy AI isn't very good, but it's not supposed to be. The militia that the special forces troops fought in '93 weren't exactly skilled marksmen, nor were they particularly brave. There advantage came in their numbers, which the game makers illustrate here. Throughout the fifteen missions, you'll literally fight thousands of enemies. The team AI is pretty good, and I don't get where reviewers say it's bad, too. In playing the game, my AI-controlled buddies took out plenty of enemies. And lastly, those who say this is like Serious Sam or some mindless shooter: Try running out into the middle of a clearing, surrounded by about twenty guys here and see what happens. You'll get cut down fast. The only way I was able to beat the game was by moving slowly, leaning around corners to shoot, and doing my best to find cover. While it isn't as tactical as Rainbow Six, it's far from being a mindless shooter. This is, by far, the best Delta Force game so far. I've only read two reviews from major websites so far: one where BHD got an 8.9, while another gave it a 5.4 or something. Trust me, believe the 8.9, not the 5.4.
Rating: Summary: Black Hawk Down ROCKS! Review: I would have to say that delta force:black hawk down is one cool game. I mean, how could you not like this heart-stopping thrill ride. It has every thing you could hope for! From sitting on top of a Humvee blasting your way though Mogadishu to sitting on the side of AH-6 little birds waiting to be dropped off at your destination.
Rating: Summary: Great Game Review: This is a great game, if you want online it is fun but first go threw some of the signle player missions which are fun. If you want to play online, if you play in the Nova World servers then you can cruise up in the ranks dependeding on how you do. You also get medals along the way. Make your way up to the 5 star general. Some bad things about online though is that when you are a sniper, you might find another sniper but sometimes they are invisible and you only hope that you see your name up on top saying you killed someone. I recommend this game to any who likes Battle Field 1942 or Counter-Strike or any other Delta Force game. Great Game to own.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your time or money Review: This game blows. Not only do you have incredibly stupid teammates, but the enemy is just as dumb, the load times are long and it has limited saves.I love first-person shooters but this one is a total bust. Try Max Payne 2 if you want an incredible fps experience.
Rating: Summary: CD Key field blank Review: Zero stars! My copy of Delta Force V: Black Hawk Down came with no CD key. So, I call the support number listed in the manual and no one picked up the phone. Well, this game is on it's way back to Amazon. I want my money back and I am not going to buy another Novalogic game ever!
Rating: Summary: This game is REALLY BAD!!! Review: Trust me when I say this game is weak. I don't know what all the 4 and 5 star ratings are about for this game. If you are under 15, maybe this game is interesting. BUT if you have played MOH or COD, Counter Strike, Raven Shield...then this game will seem very lame and silly to you. The missions are uninspired, recycled garbage. The game engine, graphics and the game AI are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! It is no fun when you are trying to shoot enemy troops and your soldiers just walk right in front of you and stop or just ignore the troops shooting at them from 3 feet away or when they constantly shoot into a wall because an enemy soldier is hiding behind it(funny how they cannot figure out how to kill an enemy 2 feet away in the open but they can see through walls!!) Believe me when I say your squad mates will constantly get in your way and block your path !!!! At the VERY LEAST - either download a demo or borrow a copy from a friend and test drive this yourself before spending $30 or more on this garbage. NovaLogic used to make some decent games back when I had a 386 DX2 with a 210MB hard drive and Windows 3.1, and even then the game AI was so-so. NovaLogic has not changed a bit Skip this and spend your money on the games that are really going to knock your socks off.
Rating: Summary: good game great graphics but it drove me to buy a ........ Review: I would recommend this game especially for those who enjoyed Medal of Honor. The graphics were great, but I had several problems with downloading the game after every scene. I live in Uruguay, and I couldn't play the mulitplayer because of the internet related problems. I have a Presario 1500 Compaq Pentium 4 with Windows XP. I really couldn't enjoy the game because after every scene, I had to reload the game from the start. Its a shame. I don't really know if its the game or my system, but unfortunately I couldn't resolve the problem. I called Novalogic, but they couldn't help. If you have a good computer that runs your games without any loading problems, then buy it. Its worth the time and money. Its an exciting game from scene to scene. I think the AI could be better similar to those in playstation where objects including windows could be destroyed. Anyway, this game drove me to buy a game console, the gamecube, so I don't have to waste most of my time loading the game. If you really want to enjoy a shooting game without the hassle of downloading games, internet connection problems and computer crashes and video card problems, buy a game console. You will give up a little on the graphics, but you will enjoy the game more. I bought the gamecube over the PS2 and Xbox because it was cheaper, my girlfriend can enjoy her Mario games and gamecube is not Microsoft. Its more of a game console. I already have a dvd. Overall, Black Hawk is a good game, great graphics and enjoyable, and I play a lot of shooter games, just make sure your computer is up to it.
Rating: Summary: IRENE! Review: First of all I have never played a Novalogic FPS besides BHD,so wheather they are good or not i don't know. But i do know a good game when i play it and W0W, this is a good game. The Pros: +Very Good Graphics +Lots of Shorter 15-20 min missions as oposed to a few loooooooong missions (Coughmedalofhonorcough): +A good mix of Historical and hypothotical missions including the tragic but ultimatly sucsesful Oct 3rd 1993 raid in wich 19 american service men lost there lives: +Medivac Helicopters will touch down to pick up a criticly wounded member of your squad, this however only happens in a very select few missions but when they do come it is very cool: +You can man the awsome 50 Cal. gun on humvees, and the mind blowing 6000 RPM mini gun on black hawk helicoters: +Multi-player is fun and includes the classic game modes including but not limited to, Capture the flag, team death match, and every man for him self death match (the latter of wich is my favorite)and i only have a 56K modem w0w: +Easy to execute team commands and room take-downs.(The flash bangs and grenades in BHD have yet to be parelled by any FPS on the market): +A large array of weoponry to chose from before a mission ranging from the standard M-16 To the all out full auto SAW to the long range M-21 sniper rife, plus a standard ussue of frag and flash bang grenades: +The stelthy night mission with the silenced MP-5 is a BLAST!: I could go on and on whith the Pros but this would be more like a commercial than a review if i din't point out the downfalls of this game.Sooooooo here they come. The Cons: -Limited saves.WHY??? WHY??? WHY??? save limits range from two to nine saves per mission which really is not enough on the mission where you run the Mogidishu mile. -Events are heavily scripted. -Music,hmmmmm there is something to be desired here, sometimes it's okay and somtimes it's downright awful, turn off the game music get the movie sound track and just play that instead: -The manual could have been alot better,it is filled with more historicl data than key commands or tactics(I still don't know how to launch the grenade from my M-16) -Some missions have a default weponry load-out so you can't chose what you want to take with you on a mission, but luckily this is rare and is not much of a problem. in conclusion,This game isn't perfect but no game is,don't listen to all the negitive reviews, this is well worth the $$$,go out and buy this game, you will not be sorry. 4 1/2 Stars thx :-)
Rating: Summary: Delta Foce - Black Hawk Down Review: Delta Force - Black Hawk Down lets you experience missions similar to those encountered by U.S. Special Operations Forces in Somalia, 1993. Delta Force - BHD is a First Person Shooter which takes you on a realistic simulation of what the troops had really encountered in 1993. You can ride on either helecopters (also the Black Hawks), and the humvee. Use a arson of weapons the game offers you from SAWs to CAR-15s and also the occasional sniper rifle is availiable too for your use. Theres some good and bad things that this game has, so I'll go over them: Overall pros: -Awesome Graphics -Realistic weaponary -great level design -Can walk around with your gun's sight up -No recoil with makes shooting your gun easier Multiplayer Pros: -Great with lots of people -Get to experience the game with people and multiplayer maps -a wide variety of multiplayer maps Multiplayer Cons: -You get killed too often so that will seem to get annoying -People sometimes cheat -One Novaworld account per CD key Overall Cons: -Your AI troops are VERY annoying and stupid -The Enemy AI are better than your own troops -Either too much or not enough medipaks Dispite all the cons, the game might not seem worth it, trust me, it is. Once you get your hands on a copy of this game, you'll know it was your money's worth. The Mission editor is another plus. Once you learn how to use it, you'll never stop. Create upon dozens of missions and see what your imagination can offer you
Rating: Summary: Snap Crackle Pop Review: Black Hawk Down is a solid FPS, though many of the complaints posted here are accurate. The AI is not very good, but again, if you read accounts of Somalia and even see the movie it's obvious that the militia was not a trained army of very good marksmen. They had numbers, numbers, numbers, a lot of guns, a lot of RPGs, and would just run into the street shooting at you. You'll be picking off hundreds of people throughout this game. If you finish all of the missions, you may likely kill over 1,000 people while losing less than 20, which is about what the USA did in 1993. The AI of your teammates is worse. They are bungling idiots with worse accuracy than Imperial Storm troopers. In addition, they don't always listen to orders--when you're about to sneak around a corner your teammates will burst into an area and start shooting. If an enemy is behind a wall, the AI gets confused and your men will shoot at the wall, even though you can't shoot through it. Naturally, if you want things done right (enemies killed, missions accomplished) you have to do it yourself. Many boards look the same, the enemies all wear the same few outfits, and you can only shoot x number of civilians before your mission ends. It's still a lot of fun though, even if many boards are just trial and error. There is also a set number of saves per board, though on only one board did this approach a problem (namely, the last mission). On the whole the game is not very difficult, however it is a lot of fun. The graphics are excellent--the rusted, blown apart remains of Mogadishu are well captured, and one gets an idea of how difficult and bloody urban battles can be. You'll probably beat the keyboard with your fist after you get shot by unseen snipers or hit by phantom RPGs, but you just reload the game and take some revenge. I loved the weapons selection. However, I found little use for the sniper rifles on whole missions, which is a shame. Since you have it with you the whole time, it's not very practical for going through the streets and taking on roving gangs. You can break out some machine guns, like the SAW or the M-60 and do your best Rambo impression, raining red-hot lead down on hapless militiamen. I liked the side arms as well. The sound effects are fantastic--the hisses, pops and cracks of gunfire in the streets sound great. It's amazing how much you can do with between two and four men; night vision goggles, flash bang grenades and silencers enable you to take down entire buildings in a couple of minutes, Delta Force-style. Of course, your own men will occasionally run in front of you and take a hit, but again, they're not too bright. There could have been more blood, which is a disappointment. You get a lot of blood when you shoot someone, but they skimped on the gore factor, which given the real nature of the whole thing, they shouldn't have. At least the bodies stay in the streets. The people do some realistic dying on screen; they spin around, are blown out of windows, go flying from grenades. Just like Hollywood (!) You can see how accurate a CAR15 or M16 is by picking off people a few hundred yards away. If you man the miniguns, watch out. It might not be the best FPS for the PC (depending on who you talk to) but it's still a very good pickup. I bought this game after watching the movie, which made me want to play a FPS (not exactly an anti-war film). It's nice to get a game based on real conflicts (other than WWII). It's a bit easy, but the online play is good and it should provide enough hours of bloody fun.
