Review: Jedi Knight 2: Jedui Outcast ROCKS!... I play it every day after I get home from school! This is a great game for kids about 11 years old and up!...

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Simply the best
Review: Without doubt, this is one of the best Star Wars games ever made, second only to Rebellion.

The book centres around the story of Kyle Katarn, the main character of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. Kyle and his partner, Jan, are up to old tricks, and are this time investigating some Imperial trouble for Mon Mothma.

The story itself I found to be tripe, which is why I gave this game 4 and not 5 stars. But nevertheless, i will explain it. After some initial 'probing' missions, Kyle comes across an Imperial conspiracy with a dark Jedi who plan to do some very evil things.

Later in the game, something happens to a close friend of Kyle's, something that prompts Kyle to return to the 'Valley of the Jedi' to regain his Jedi powers. After this, Kyle gets his lightsabre back, and his force powers continue to grow as he searches for the answers to the various puzzles until the game comes to a predictable, yet satisfying, ending.

The game is a gem of a first person shooter, and incorporates many traditional weapons such as the stormtrooper blaster, Wookie bowcaster, and thermal detonators. However, after the first few levels, Kyle recieves his lightsabre, and this is where the game really begins to shine.

The best part of the game, for me, were the lightsabre battles. With such realistic graphics and sound effects, I really understood what it was like to be Luke during his final confrontation with Vader. I have played the game through twice, and plan to do so again.

Every Star Wars fan should own this game, it is simply the best.

Summary: Tons-O-fun
Review: Let me start off by telling you people why I gave this game four stars instead of five. There are a few which are not really bad things about the game, but more about how it runs. First, this game is very, well, overpriced considering it came out last year (even though it just recently came to the mac). Another problem within the game itself is if you do not have hefty system requitrments, then this will run a bit slow. I have a iMac G3 with 256 MB of ram and a 500MH. The computer is about one and a half years old. The only real time that the game will start to stall is when there are seven of eight men shooting at you, so I guess it could be a lot worse. One other thing that really bugs me is there is no compass, which means if you forget to hit a swich, then you will have to go hunt it down. Those are my only complaints with the game. I mostly like everything else, but let me tell you the best parts of the game. The controlls are very nice. The classic mouse and arrow keys set up. If you have a scroll weel on your mouse, that makes it even nicer when you swich you weapons, which leads me to another great thing about the game. The weapon selection is just great. You have everything from your plain old blaster to the lightsaber. I am also very fond of the force moves that you are able to do. I have not gotten that far, but I know the story and it is great. The visualls could be better, but that is not what makes games great. I recomend playing somewere else before you spend the 50 dollers on it. Overall, very solid.

Summary: Outcast is best Star Wars game to date
Review: Nothing compares to this game, considering all the Star Wars games on the market. I own all the Kyle Katarn games and this is his best performance yet. I just wish they would write him into the story lines of some of the new books.
The start is a little shaky cause you don't have any force powers, but its not really a problem since thats part of the story line. Once you retrieve your lightsaber, there is nothing that compares. The first time i battled a Reborn, i was awed at the moves and the different styles you could fight with. I remember Jedi Knight I and Mysteries of the Sith, when all i could do was point the lightsaber in the enemy's direction and hope it hits him. Now, you feel like Yoda in Episode II. Anyway, totally worth the money spent, cannot complain a bit. And when your down with single player, you can move over to multi. I still love playing multiplayer against the computer. The capture the flag is a lot of fun. Nothing at all to be dissapointed about in this game.

Summary: AWESOME GAME
Review: This game is awesome! I have never played a game I liked so much!!! If you like the Star Wars universe even a little bit, and enjoy the lightsaber, buy the game! The first few levels are pretty bad, because you don't have the lightsaber. BUT, when you get it, you are ready for it. It starts out as a routine mission to an "abandoned" planet, but then you meet this big dynasor who kicks your ... around. I wont spoil the plot, but you eventually get to slice the baddie right through! Graphics are amazing, sound quality, heavenly. Just one thing; make sure you have enough RAM to keep this thing running. I don't, and the game freezes for like, a minute, and is really sluggish. Other than that, the game is awesome! BUY IT!!!

Summary: great!!
Review: When I first saw this game I was at bestbuy playing the demo, I actually made my dad spend an extra hour at bestbuy so I could play it more. Now this is the sequel obviously to the original jedi knight game, note that I never had a chance to play it.
A few months after the bestbuy incident I ordered it, the installation is very quick and easy so I started the game itself.
I saw the opening movie and it just didn't cut it, the movements in the movie were just a tad too blocky and unrealistic, surprisingly though in the actual game, the movements were much more fluid and felt more natural. But what really earned this game it's score were the graphics they are absolutely amazing, I was surprised that much because it almost impossible to get this sort of graphical quality with a non-tweaked default windows card. When you get the lightsaber in something like the fourth level, and you turn it on, I sware it looks exactly like it does in the movies. Also, I forgot to mention that the sound is absolutly awesome. Along the levels you get a variety of useful weapons from a bazooka to a wookie bowcaster but nothing can come close to comparing to the light saber, with a little practise, this baby can clear a room in five seconds with the boomerang move. Also totally awesome is the force powers, you get force push, pull, mind trick, choke, and ofcourse my personal favorite force lightning, and with a few cheats, you can get it all instantly. Now the only problems that I had (and it isn't a very big ones at all,) is that there is a bit of chugging in certain levels such as yavin swamp, and that it is a tad repetitive and in certain levels hard to progress. The levels if you get a good veiw of them are really huge and you get that sense that it's a real world around you. My very favorite thing though, is that you get to meet up with characters, such as luke, and lando, and ofcourse 3p0 and r2.
Another cool thing is that there is a cantina sequence with the episode 4 cantina music, and that totally brought me back to the day. But one final downside is that the multiplayer option doesn't work on windows XP (atleast not for me.) The control is very good. I thought that one of the best parts was that you can have a lightsaber duel. The story is abit confusing but so what.
Even if you don't like star wars you are gonna love this game, a defintie mustbuy for anyone with a computer! fantastic!!
Just a note, this game does take quite a bit of RAM and I would not recommend it on a windows 95/98 editions, though nothing that can't be fixed with an extra card or two. Once again, AWESOME!!!!!

Summary: Best Game-Until KotOR
Review: This game is awesome! I love all the awesome lightsaber moves and how the different levels of the Force Powers make the powers do different things! This compares quite favorably to Jedi Knight. For one thing, in Jedi Outcast, you actually flip when doing Force Jump, unlike Jedi Knight. This game is so realistic! If you're a fan of Star Wars, and really want to get into the Star Wars universe, this is the game for you!

Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: Don't be so quick to misjudge this title just because it's on the bargain shelf at most software outlets: this game is a true masterpiece of action! LucasArts perfectly blended the excitement of playing a Jedi Knight with the intensity of a first-person shooter. And the lightsaber combat system really works!

Force powers are handled beautifully and seamlessly, both in the single-person game and the multiplayer. Players who are proficient with the keyboard-and-mouse technique used in most first-person shooters will find themsleves right at home.

Single-player mode:
Intense, fun, and a downright blast! Most titles that attempted to incorporate Full Motion Video left a bad taste in my mouth as so much fluff that got in the way of the game. Not so here! The Full Motion Video cutscenes blend right into the plot and add to the excitement: they're not too long and just enough to fill in the gaps. It's a shame that they didn't create more for the sequel (Mysteries of the Sith) or for Jedi Outcast.

Multiplayer
A dream. Minimal lag time and Jedi combat has never been moerfun (except for Jedi outcast, of course!) And best of all, it's free over Microsoft's Zone.com website. Sweet!

A must have for anyone. If you're looking for a new game, buy it. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much fun this game really is!

Darth Vader said it best: "The Force is strong in this one." Two thumbs up. WAY up!

Summary: Better than the last one.
Review: In the old days(how old-_-), lucas arts did all the development for star wars contents but I guess lucas arts were good at adventure genre(and still is and will be)but at other genre, so lucas arts alone weren't enough to handle all those various types of star wars contents and all those fancy movie things that need to converted into polygons. So I guess that made Lucas arts to let other developer companies(raven, barrent, bioware etc.) to put their own pro genre into star wars and give players a much better star wars experience.

This is one of the game born because of Lucas arts's decision that I explained.

What is good?
1.Great grahpics- It's hard to describe the great graphics but when you play it's hard to find slow-downs(I use a Riva TNT2 and didn't find much slow downs)

2.enemy hacking, bullet flying, no time for stopping gameplay- This star wars is all about action, you don't really need to worry about your health because you can charge it up to max with your force thing, and laser blasters even have machine gun mode and ammos are almost always found in enemy weapons, and if you don't won't to get hurt in the middle of a crossfire. Just use your lightsaber like carzy and buzz around like a mouse.(just a joke)

3.Great level design- need words(-_-)

What is bad?

1.Not much lightsaber tricks- swing. boomerang and what else
2.too action- too action sometimes mean repetative, make sure you get the demo before you purchase

Overall, Great star wars game, but if playing SIms,RCT are games that just right for your mind, this game won't be fun.

Summary: The Force IS with this game!
Review: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast has you playing the role of a Jedi that has given up the force in fear of turning to the dreaded dark side of the force, hence the name Jedi Outcast. The game is filled with hundreds, no scratch that, thousands of enemies to kill with a huge variety of weapons ranging from stun baton to light saber(yes he does get it back), to blaster pistol and rocket launcher. There are also hundreds of puzzles for gamers to scratch their heads at for hours on end. This is a great game for Star Wars fans. Even if you aren't a Star Wars fan, this is a must have game! Buy this game and the force will be with you.
