Summary: Great Game
Review: Operation Flashpoint is definitely one of the best games i've played. the only cons (besides the difficulty) is that it's a pain to fly a chopper or a plane with a mouse (though i think there is now joystick support) and the graphics are a bit blocky, but considering the size of the game world, it's not that bad

Summary: no problems w/ my system
Review: I have read many of the reviews that talk about poor resolution and other graphics problems. I have a P4 1.5 ghz w/256k and a 32mb GC. This by far the best FPS I have ever played! The only fault I see, is the difficulty with some of the vehicles, specifically the tanks, the are very hard to command. As for the aircraft, I have a sidewinder joy-stick that makes stealling a chopper so much fun!!!Will enjoy this game for a long time to come, if your system is fast, this game is a must!!!!!

Summary: Unparalled Realaty
Review: I had to refrene my combat traning to play this one. You have to aim like a real rifle, hide like a real soldier, and think like a real commander on the stratigic level of combat. The only down side is the game programing. >> CHEAT; To take away one the the cons listed by Amazon for this game simple PRESS THE LEFT (SHIFT) + KEYPAD (-) then release and type "SAVEGAME". This will save your gave over and over again. So that bad guy that killed you 50 time can't do it 51 times. This is the best game I have played since Wolfstien 3D. Its get your heart racing and your brain thinking of how to win. Un-Matched by even Rainbow Six or Medal of Honor.

Summary: One of the Best....
Review: I have all of the Rainbox six games and I thought I would give this one a try. I am running 98SE, 1.4 gig Athlon, 512 DDR, Sound Blaster 5.1 live and Nvidia Mx400 64meg tv out card. I also have cambridge soundworks fps2000 digital sound w/sub. This is one of the best games I have ever played. The graphics are superb. You can actually see and hear the rain (with EAX). Thunder etc.. The game runs better with more of the "goodies" like I mentioned above, but will run on less(of course). I recommend this game to anyone into 1st person shootem up/tactical games. You have the ability to Drive vehicles and fly choppers, command squads etc. If you can think of it you can do it in this game. This game is so much fun(Difficult/Hard, The AI seems to sense your where abouts - I recommend stealth whenever possible) that you may end of running late for work or school when you start playing!

Summary: Great game, trouble with patches
Review: The game has been very fun and intense to play. The main problem I have is with patches for upgrading the game. I think the problem is with my motherboard. If you use Windows 2000 and have a motherboard with a Via KT133 chipset, make sure you patch your chipset correctly. I cannot install patches because files were damaged during the game installation due to my chipset. Some levels crash during game play because of this problem.

Summary: Being There
Review: If you want a simulation of what it's like to be 'there' in a battle situatiion, in a virtual world that is as real as it gets 2001, this is the one. I was waiting to be disappointed, I read all the bad reviews to get a feel for what was lacking (most were comments about online play), I was expecting a European production to be half-baked. I was quite amazed at how well this was put together. I have an AMD 500 Mhz, 128RAM, 16MB VooDoo 3DFX, and I have no problems with the play at all. Many programs blow up when you switch between the Desktop and the game, this one I switched back and forth dozens of times (to save games the cheating way) and it caused no problems in Win 98, which is just short of a Miracle. I now spend my hours of work chomping at the bit to go home to my Battle World and spend my nights dreaming of being in it. Amazing Game shows us what it can be like, and what we can expect from future attempts at this genre.

Summary: GREAT game! Especialy for action gamers!
Review: I downloaded the first demo for this game and fell in love with it. After completeing the first mission about 50 times in the demo, I baught it and now its all i play, its very challenging and also fun enough to where you dont want to quit even in the toughest parts! Its worth every cent. Its a great steup up from the Tom Clancy Series. Go on and buy it, you'll like it.

Summary: One of the greatest war games ever
Review: This game offers a lot in terms of gameplay. However, if you are the type that enjoys Quake/UT style FPS (first person shooter) this game may not be for you.

Graphics: The graphics are extremely good considering the overall massiveness of the levels. Visibility range is obviously dampened a bit becuase in order for the game to be that realistic most pc's wouldn't be able to handle it. While not the greatest graphics they are still above par. As you get closer to trees and bushes, they become a bit boxier and pixilated. The other pitfall graphics wise is inside buildings. Because the engine isn't made for close quarters, it leaves a lot to be desired.
Rating for graphics: 4 out of 5

Sound: Ah, the sound. The sound gets pretty monotonous after a while. Everybody sounds the same on the radio. It's horrible but I guess with so many radio combinations it would be too much to do more than one. However, the radio is very specific when they tell where enemy units are located. It would be nice though if there was an option to list more than one at a time. For example, if you see three soldiers on patrol through your binoculars, you call them over the radio like this: "12 o clock enemy, soldier 500. 1 o clock enemy soldier 500" etc. It would be nicer if instead it could say something like "12 o clock, 3 enemy soldiers, 500" Oh well.
Sound 4 out of five

Gameplay: This is where the game is outstanding. Realistic reload times, keep your head down or it'll get shot. Some people didn't like the switch from soldier to tank commander or pilot but I thought it was nice. Being a grunt is stressfull. When it comes right down to it, I mostly enjoyed commanding my troops while holding back and sniping. AI is very smart. If they see bullets hitting the ground around them, they'll either run the other way or dive to the ground, making them harder to hit. The controls need to be tweeked but the missions are great and there are so many of them. You get to do so much that while there will be certain tactics you don't enjoy, there are others that make up for it. There is no one way to beat a mission and every way gives a great story to tell on the Flashpoint forums.
Gameplay: 5 out of 5

Pick it up, you won't be disappointed. NOTE: A lot of systems have a problem running it but if you search the forums and upgrade all your drivers, with a decent system, you shouldn't have a problem. I have a 500mhz AMD Athalon, GeForce 2GTS 256mb Ram and I have no problems with upgraded drivers.

Summary: Important Game
Review: This is an important game for any fan of the first person shoot-'em-up genre. It can keep you up half the night, so be careful. Totally realistic and interesting. Graphics are different, but really cool. I have nothing but good things to say about it except for 2 things:

1. One shot by the enemy and your dead. I guess I'm not used to that, being a fan of Half-Life and Quake where you take as many hits as Jackie Chan an keep on fighting.

2. You can only save the game once per mission, so if you get killed you have to go back and play the whole thing either from where you saved, or from the beginning, and it get's monotonous.

But don't let that get you down. This game rules.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Bugs
Review: The game is fantastic as for the idea and implementation,
but techically it has two seriuos drawbacks:
1. It crashes on some single missions (blue screen or even reboot sequence starts on it's own).
2. Sound - group leader commands are doubled sometimes, sounds direction may be indictinctive sometimes and there are loud distortions from time to time.

Generally it's quite heavy, but it's fun even not in the largest resolutions.

Reality level is very high. And I mean not the how the houses look, but characters behaviour, how you see the enemy, weapons performance. For instance you have to reload you weapon deliberatly when your magazine is empty, the game doesn't do it for you and you may get stuck in front of enemy pulling your trigger over empty mag if you don't keep in mind you ammo situation.
Highly recommended.
