Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS GAME Review: My roommates have basically written me off as far as going out is concerned lately. I really got into this game, and played it almost every night after work for about a month. Read the other reviews for the details, but this game is exactly what a game should be, FUN!
Rating: Summary: Best Overall Combat Sim Review: Just after commanding a tank column, I snuck into an enemy base and blew up the AA guns. This was so that the next mission I could fly my Huey Cobra gunship against the T-80's that were stationed there. This game is completely dynamic. If you fail your missions, tough luck 'cuz the computer will move you to the next mission with those results (you can replay them, but you lose alot there 'cuz there are no second chances in combat). As you move through the campaigns (there is a campaign editor) you may gain rank enough to eventually command your own squad (or flight or wahtever is appropriate). And instead of one character you play 4 or 5: infantry, black ops, helo pilot, tank commander, A10 pilot (I haven't done this one yet). It's a 100% interactive environment. Run over a sapling with a tank and you can hide behind it when you evacuate your burning tank. One mission my black ops character stole an enemy helicopter. The landing was less than perfect, but then what did you expect. If I had only word to say about it: "BUY!!!" But since I am allowed more than that: "BUY, BUY, BUY!!!"
Rating: Summary: Best Game of the Year ! Review: First of all my name is not Martha since thats my mom and also that I am a 15 year old male. This game I have had since the day it came out in the U.S. It is the best game I have ever played. It is so realistic with great graphics and the ability not only of ground soldiering but being able to fly AH-1 cobras, apaches, a10's, or even an abrahams tank. Since I have gotte this game I have played it for at least 2 hours everyday online. It is such a great game to play online I guess I should mention. It comes with software for an online gaming site thats free. In this game you can also make your own missions using the mission editor which is very easy to use and fun to use also since you can make some very neat type multiplayer or little missions for yourself to play. Leaving you with these opinions of mine , I highly recommend that you buy this game right now. Just add it to your cart and have fun.
Rating: Summary: The New Era of FPS Review: In this review i am going to focus more on how the game is not what i personally think so then you can make up your own mind if you want to get it. And in this game you can choose the first person view(delta force, r6) or the third person view(syphon filter, max payne) Quick note: if your looking for the best and most realistic fps(first person shooter) get this if you wanna make up your mind. read on... First the SINGLE PLAYER now thats the best part of this game. YOu start just like in real life and are in atraining camp, you soon go into action and you dont just start in action but you make preperations, pick up troops and drive a jeep to your squad where you take a truck into the mission zone. All that time you are a charectorandd have 100% controll. If you run to much you slow down and breath harder,if you get shot in the leg you walk slower, if you die you dont respawn thats it. The Action in cool and you depend on your squad because easy difficulty in this is like Elite in rouge spear you MUST depend on your squad. You can take weapons off enemies and take control of 100% of the veacles and when you do dont go off to far on a jagged road cause you may get a flat! The story is cool and you can surrender or rin of hide and change the way that the game goes and plays. Now for the MULTIPLAYER this is cool and youcan pilot planes, be in a boat of whatever there is in the army today-you can do that too. you neeed the following people to drive a tank(well ou dsont NEED them but this is the max)(as in real life):1.Gunner-Has complete control of the gun and reloads ect 2.C0ommander-Looks around and looks for enimies in the area to target then rports to gunner 3.Driver- Drives dugh! SO those are the MUST HAVES for a tankthere are like 30 playable veacles even civilian tractors. You can have a group of pilots, tank and infantry alll working toget her. There are the following "modes": Deathmatch 2 teams raging war(inclued Capture the flag), Co-op: a team workibg together on a mission. Overall Multiplayer is fun. Then theres the esay to use map editor. Similar to that of starcraft easyto use and you can place as much units as you want. The graphics in this game are OK and theres not to many glitches(walk on water ect)but that only happens once a while. The graphics are like max payne and vice acting is ok. This is a cool little game. I recommend you get it. This is one of(goldeneye)the best fps i have ever played.
Rating: Summary: controls and views confusing Review: It may be that I just finished Max Payne (the best game I've played in a long time) and then bought this game, but I don't like it that much. The Delta force series is so much better. the missions are not clear and I got lost serveral times and it took forever to find my way back. Ok so this may be more realistic, but not very fun. When you have two hours to enjoy a computer game and just hide and run around in the woods, only to be shot...well maybe thats fun to somepeople but not me.
Rating: Summary: anyone who says the tank missions suck is a moron Review: playing as a soldier all the time is the worst part of the game, the few missions where you can use a tank or aircraft are the best ones in the game and giving orders to your crew is very simple if read how the controls are setup. (...)
Rating: Summary: An engrossing game that gives hours of gameplay Review: When I look for a PC Game to add to my collection, one of the first criteria is that the game must provide hours of entertainment. Operation Flashpoint does not fail in this respect. The main storyline is well thought out and draws you into the plot. And when I just need a break from the main campaign, I set off on a single-player mission. The game play is good. The graphics are a bit blocky and I have problems trying to fly helicpoters, but I am confident that as I get used to the interface, these problems will become more less frustrating. (...) I had no problems installing or playing the game. I have a 700mhz Athlon processor with 384mb of ram and a Stealth S540 video card. In over 30 hours of gameplay, I've only managed to crash the game once (and that was when trying to start a new mission - so I didn't lose anything). Overall, an excellent game that I plan on enjoying for the next few months.
Rating: Summary: Operation Flashpoint, A cut above the rest! Review: Man, despite some of the complaints of control issues there has'nt been any game that has been as emersive in any shape or form. Right off the bat you go into boot camp with a squad of npc's. Than your shipped off to war. The gun fights are dizzying you can hear the bullets flying all around you and you squad members are dropping like flies everywhere! From the rumble of tanks that you can drive or have driven over you to the rocket fire comming over head from supporting helicopters the feel is WAR. My favorite attribute of the game is the freedom to go anywhere in the 100sq km+ maps and do anything! Sure there are mission objectives that must be completed but why not go over to the next enemy occupied town take out all the enemy personel and steal thier helicopter? or thier tanks? or even both?? You can fly and drive anything!!! Or just blow it all up and go by foot. The choice is yours!!! In this Game War Rules!!!!
Rating: Summary: Good for us faster dudes... Review: This game is simply incredible. It is truely immersing to the point that you forget yourself. Runs smoothly and never lags- if your computer is sort of like mine... P4 2Ghz 2 GB of RDRam 64 megabyte DDR NVIDIA Geforce 3 4x AGP 20 GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive (small but super-fast) Win XP (not as good as 2000 in terms of stability) Are you getting me? Yeah... If your computer kicks some keister then get it.
Rating: Summary: Good idea... bad outcome Review: This game has all the ideas of what i want in a wartime fps game. The ability to fight with team mates in tanks, choppers, gunboats, jeeps... but the sad thing is the graphics are horrible; They made a horrible attempt at placing real faces on player models... the result is scotch taped on looking face. The second thing is the vehicles that would be the best part is far from it. Sure i had a good time when i got the chopper off the ground along with a another player online handleing the guns... but most of the time when you play multiplayer the other team usually trashes all the vehicles and you end up having to run for 10 minutes just to make it to the other base who also has thier vehicles busted and it becomes stupidly distant bases. Another thing with the vehicles, the slightest touch with a tree, building causes the car to be wrecked. A little too sensetive. And the worst thing about this game is... GameSpy, trying to get a game going is horrible, joining games waiting for the host to launch the game only to find out 20 minutes later that he isn't even at his/her computer. Also, there is no on-screen compass on the game screen, u have to keep switching to the map which takes up the entire screen. All-in-all: Graphics: jaggy even on a g2 and a radeon 64ddr Gameplay: Fustrating online play Sounds: sounds were average Fun Factor: it has it's moments when things go right, but when there is another game out there where you can jump in the action mid game... why wait 20 minutes in a lobby to start a new game that maybe wont last 10 minutes.
