Rating: Summary: Run and buy the game now Review: This is a great game. It is realistic and not stupid like those james bond games you buy for playstation 2 were you point the crosshair at the person and their dead. In this you cant stand on a hill and snipe the whole base (like the childish delta force games), cause if the enemy sees you you either run or get cover. (one shot anywere in the head or torso and your dead, two shots in the limbs and your down.) Some [person] that formerly reviewed this game said that the missions were stupid cause you had to rendavous with other tanks and stuff, but hes wrong. There is a few setbacks: - You play a campain game as a guy named David Armstrong, and play as if you were him, wich is great, but then once you beat that you all the sudden are this guy named Robert Hammer who shleps around commanding tanks,(The all veicle missions arnt that fun. - If you dont have a nice graphics card with pentium4 and at least a 2.0 processer, it doesnt work well, but you can get it for X Box this winter so dont worry
Rating: Summary: Bad Reviews Explained. Review: Why the mixed reviews? Well, for one Operation Flashpoint is not your typical first person shooter. Operation Flashpoint is a real time tactical simulation. Operation Flashpoint offers depth and realism that no other war simulation can rival. Operation Flashpoint offers the experience of both the first person shooter and a real time strategy, much like Sacrafice. Graphics : 7 One of the more common complaints about Operation Flashpoint is the graphics. While the graphics are by no means poor, admittedly they still fall short of the breath taking Soldier of Fortune : Double Helix or even Ghost Recon. The soldiers look a bit robotic at times and the vegetation is obviously several cross sectioned 2d images. Sound : 6 Operation Flashpoint doesn't feature the copious amounts of ambient noises of games like Ghost Recon. In Operation Flashpoint the sound effects can jump unexpectedly. One moment you hear nothing but the sound of nearly silent feet pattering through grass when suddenly you jump from the floor shaking explosions of nearby M1A Tanks. The radio voices are loud, scratchy and annoying. The voice acting/timing leaves more to be desired. Realism : 10 Operation Flashpoint features realism that even excels Ghost Recon. It would be impossible to list all of the realistic effects of Operation Flashpoint, but here are a few examples. Weapons: The weapon physics are modeled with great detail. Everything has been accounted for including the correct open sites, magazine capacity, effective range, distinctive sounds (firing, reloading), bullet wind drift, bullet drop, and recoil. This makes skill a much larger component in the game. The sniper rifle can flatten an enemy half of a mile away, if 'you' can compensate for wind drift and bullet drop. Just putting your cross hair on the target won't cut it anymore. Vehicles: The vehicles feature excellent damage modeling and handling. If the front tire is flattened the vehicle pulls to that side. The airplanes and choppers respond realistically and require a great deal of practice to master. In the case of some tanks, helicopters and planes a crew is often required to operate the vehicle successfully. If the pilot of the vehicle is killed the vehicle spins out of control and/or crashes. Trying to get to your extraction point 5 miles away? Grab a civilian truck, car, boat or even a tractor. Environment: Operation Flashpoint features a nearly limitless environment with hundreds of miles of varying terrain. In most missions you'll find it will be necessary to find an alternate means of transportation. The terrain ranges from valleys to mountains, from deserts to dense forests, from small cities to oceans. Replayability : 10 Operation Flashpoint sacrifices the eye popping graphics for playability and this is ultimately more enjoyable. What do I mean? I'm sure you'll notice after playing games such as Soldier of Fortune : Double Helix, Return to Castle Wolfenstien, or Ghost Recon you'll begin to notice monotony of every mission. Don't misunderstand me, they are all great games in their own right, but the missions vary little and are fairly linear. In Operation Flashpoint you're usually given an insertion point and a set of objectives, what happens in between is up to you. You might try sneaking into the enemy base, hijacking a tank and taking the base by force. The next time you might try your hand at sniping the guards from the cliff bluff overlooking the base. The possibilities are endless. Difficulty : 10 This game isn't for the weak hearted or easily discouraged. Operation Flashpoint only allows one save per mission and the missions are often long and very dangerous (One Shot, You're Dead). Summary : Operation Flashpoint is a fantastic game that offers depth and realism no other game can match. If that realism and depth comes at the price of slightly sub-par graphics and sound, I think I can live with that.
Rating: Summary: JUST A NOTE Review: RUN, BUY IT NOW! So far OFP is the most complicated game i've seen. Obviously, in the point of a game developer, it is complicated. Combine all those nice shooting games and drama, that's Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis! HINT: This game is not just a fancy shooting game...like Quake! You don't spend hours playing this game jumping like an idiot frog! Serious.

I have the Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition it even better, it also have a OUTSTANDING grapihc and a Perfect mission Editor, you can create your own story by using the mission editor and its third party tools, you can do everything you want during the game!
Rating: Summary: Simpily The Best Ever! Review: I read the reviews of this game and they semed good so I bought it. I was expecting a good game but that's not what I got. I got the most well thought out, simulated game in the world. Detailed in every aspect. Its a royal shame that you can only give this game 5 stars. You can command, drive, fly or be a foot soldier. This game is good beyond words, you just have to buy it. This game is not for people looking for mindless blowing up games and you can take 500 shots before getting killed. It is a simulation, the best game ever thought up. So stop reading this and go buy it, because like I said, it's good beyond words.
Rating: Summary: An excellent creation of a simulated war conflict Review: It's been nearly more than 8 months that I purchased this great game from the nearby Software Store. I enjoyed playing this military-style and realistic game, though I did not like the model structure and how they reacted; they just seem to be toys or something like that, they do not turn their faces against you or act in a realistic way like Medal of Honor Allied Assault. But the most important thing in Operation: Flashpoint that we should take notice of is strategy. This awsome game requires a military strategic mind to control your squad or just how to engage the enemy if you're caught by an ambush or an outnumbering force. Also the open space that not all games provide is very interesting, so you can go anywhere you like on those islands without being bothered by an invisible boundary like in MoHAA. I also want to say that in most squad-based games no actual radio operator can be seen. You just hear your radio talking without seeing an actual one! I hope that the developers take this seriously, and also give us some artillery support in the next version of Flashpoint! Oh, another thing. The radio signals weren't that precise; when requesting air support a squad leader or platoon Lt says something like this: "November One, this is Crimson one Actual, requesting air support on vicinity AT902474. T-80 platoon suspected to be in the field. This is crimson one actual over?". Well something like that! I hope an upcoming version of this game is underway. Now Gear up and prepare for the big fight with the commies!
Rating: Summary: Horrible Game Review: I am wondering if I played the same Operation:Flashpoint as the rest of the reviewers because this was the latest in a long line of terrible military 1st person shooter games. The graphics are mediocre, while the playability is absolutely horrible. I took this game back and exchanged it less than an hour after buying it. It ranks among the worst military shooters I have ever played along with the Delta Force games, the Clancy games(The Rainbow Six series that is), and others. Don't waste time or money on this ... game. It's disappointing that no one seems to be able to come up with a good 1st person military adventure shooter game. The only two decent ones I've seen recently were Medal Of Honor and Return To Wolfenstein. Again, don't waste money on this awful game.
Rating: Summary: The Flashpoint Addiction Review: As a novice PC gamer I was given this game as a gift. I was completely blown away by the realism and graphics not to mention the difficulty. I also enjoy the fact that there are limited cheat codes available that make this a true challange to any level of gamer. The graphics are seamless and move in a 360 degree environment with almost flawless effort. The controls are easy to master and the cut-out command key legend makes playing that much easier. I highly recommend this game to any fan of this type of involved first person shooter.
Rating: Summary: Operation Flashpoint, a game worth your time!!! Review: Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis is an unique strategic shoot-em up game. You would like this game because you can move wherever you want on the map, and take over any land, sea, or air vehicle in the game. You can see the weapons the men carry on their backs, instead of having a weapon being pulled out of thin-air like in other games. This game, like Project IGI has huge levels that don't slow down the computer's game-play. Codemasters is a good gaming company that developed this realistic game, and many other games, including Project IGI, Project IGI 2, Blade of Darkness, and is currently making Prisoners of War. The main reasons I like this game are the huge levels, multi-player support, and you work your way up to commanding officer. The game design is great, because the weapons are very realistic and you get tired after running a while like in real life. Eventhough Operation Flashpoint is breath-taking game, it has some bad glitches that include if you get too close to an object, its a little blocky in that it doesn't look 3D. Some examples may include bushes, trees, and sand bags. Another bad thing about the game is that the characters move sluggish. I would suggest that you should be 13 or older to play this game, because it requires patience, skill, and concentration. Also, this game has a lot of animated violence.
Rating: Summary: Game of the Year Review: This Game is one of the most Realistic Military games i have played to date this is a GREAT BUY for First person military shooter Fans!!!!
