Summary: Are we forgetting the point of playing computer games?
Review: People who critisize this game are too stuck on the idea that a game must inculde certain modern standards to be worth playing. Please! Playing computer games is all about escaping reality and being able to enjoy yourself. Who cares if it's not in first person perspective? It's still fun, isn't it? I sure think so.

Summary: Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project
Review: Real Lame. "Earth Worm Jim" is a better buy. Worst Duke Nukem game ever.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: No where near the fun of Duke Nukem 3D
Review: Regretably this not the same type first person shooter as Duke Nukem 3D, this is a sorry Acrade style spin off that I've since gotten rid of and I warn people away from purchasing.

Summary: Come On!
Review: Seems they've fooled a few folks, but not me. They slap the name Duke Nukem on an old Mario Bros engine and expect it to hold it's own in the wake of games like SOF2, MoHAA, RTCW and GTA3!
Installed & tried the game, deleted from my HD, resealed the box and promptly returned it for a full cash refund- What a waste of time and effort- Weak pizza!

Summary: Save your money
Review: Side scroller, no 3-D. The first Dukes were much better. Save your money for Doom III. You'll find my copy of DNMP on eBay in a bit.

Summary: Great Looking.......Side Scroller??!!
Review: So this is what we get after all these years of waiting? An updated version of Duke Nukem 2?

This game looks great, it has the same Duke Nukem attitude, but its watered down somewhat. The biggest problem with Manhattan Project is it's 3rd person side-scrolling view, just a terrible, backwards idea. It would have been really cool if this game used Raven's GHOUL II engine, as it stands you need a magnifying glass to see all the action in this game. The save game feature needs some work too, why do programmers want to restrict where and when I can save my game?? That is very annoying. And if you think you get a lot of weapons to play with, think again.

Plus the strippers in the game don't strip like in the previous Duke Nukems, what a rip-off!!

Summary: Unfairly criticized--it's a top game!
Review: Some of the comments here are quite funny. The original Dukes were both sidescrollers! And they were fun. DNMP is fun as well, and looks better than I would have thought. I was skeptical but once I saw the gameplay movie on the official site of the game, I was sold... I can't believe they made it so inexpensive. Well, we win, cause this game ROCKS! It feels like Duke and it is the most fun I've had on a pc since Duke Nukem 3D.

If you are sad and hurt that it's a platform scroller, and not another FPS, then you're a little too shallow to enjoy this game. This is what gaming is about, having fun! Take a chance on this one, you won't regret it. I play more DNMP than I do SOFII..and that's saying something.

Summary: NOT A SEQUEL
Review: Some of the reviewers of this title seem a bit confused as to its nature. This is NOT the sequel to Duke Nukem 3D. The true sequel will be titled "Duke Nukem Forever" and will be released someday by 3D Realms. "Manhattan Project" was developed by a 3rd party studio just for kicks while we wait for the true sequel. Think of it as a spin-off. They wanted to make a title that was a bit nostalgic for older styles of gameplay, and at the same time update that style with newer technology. And for what it is, they did a wonderful job. Now stop bitching and keep waiting for the sequel.

Summary: I can't believe they actually released this...
Review: Talk about living in the past. This Duke is so ... it isn't
funny. In the User's Guide, they pretend that their using the
old technology (the so-called platform sideways style) is a trip
into nostalia land. And Duke's narration/comments sounds like
they lifted the entire speech file from Duke NukeM 3D. Not to
mention that they changed what keys to use for action. If you're
used to playing other games that use keyboard input, it's
gonna take you a couple of days to get used to the way they
laid out the keyboard. Don't waste your money on this one.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: This game is awesome, it is NOT like the Duke Nukem 3d of 1996 we all remember, the third person shooter, but more like the 1991 version updated with great graphics. I do think it is worth getting if you are a Duke Nukem fan. I found it to be thrilling, can't wait for another FPS from these guys starting Duke.
