Rating: Summary: Half-Life Remains Unmatched Review: You would think that after a couple of years, something comparable or better would come out, but I haven't found it yet. The most important part of this software bundle is, of course, Half-Life, but Opposing Force is about as good as sequels come.Half-Life- an excellent storyline that keeps you gripped and forces you to continue playing for hours on end. For a newcomer, some of the puzzles are very frustrating, but extremely rewarding. This is a program that will leave you addicted to good gaming, and searching (unsuccessfully) for more games like it. The feel of the controls and the weapons is also excellent. The quality of graphics and textures is mediocre by current standards, but in fairness, HL is one of the few games that will run with minimal system requirements (great for playing at work!) The ending of Opposing Force isn't very satisfying, but it doesn't detract much from the overall experience. Sierra also released Blue-Shift, another chapter in the story, but its short length and terrible ending aren't on par with HL or OF. Multiplayer modes (and seperate games- counter-strike and team fortress) are a nice bonus.
