Summary: Awesome
Review: I definetly recommend this game if you want a story, not some senseless deathmatch game. Awesome graphics, sound and its even easy to learn. This game runs great on a system with; 2 Pentium 3 600 Mhz's, 1 Gb Ram, and the Geoforce Ti 4600. Pay no attention to the system requirements, I am playing it with all the options turned on and this game runs smooth. Run out and buy it now if you like First Person Shooters.

Summary: Good Graphics... Mediocre Game
Review: My title really sums it all up. The graphics in this game are of the highest quality available right now. Will this game compare with the DooM III engine? Probably not, but that dosen't mean that this game isn't worth checking out.

The actual storyline is medicore, as is the amount of time spent on the game. I beat it top-to-bottom in about 8 hours. I realize that this is just a FPS (First Person Shooter), but it could have been a bit longer.

What I really came to like throuought the game is the exotic planets. The graphics of the terrain and surrounding biosphere is truly amazing. Some levels seem more of a vacation spot that a battlefield, and I think that works to the advantage of the game. There are ALOT of really cool weapons, but I found that many of the enemies are very hard to kill and very difficult to see, even with these advanced weapons.

One major bug that I had with my copy was that not all the people came out 'skinned' correctly (in graphics terms). What I mean by this is that the human characters would be covered with this oozy blue/red kind of fluidy substance instead of the skin model. It is very hard to explain, but it was apparent through the whole game, and is obviously a game error. I may be unique in this error, but hopefully it will be addressed in an upcoming patch.

One final word I can give about this game is to make sure that your system is up to par. If you have a GeForce 3 or lower, you should seriously consider getting a video card upgrade before you buy this game. While it will funcion on your computer, I have a GeForce4 Ti4400 and it is choppy during high action or high AI (artificial intelligence) uses at 2x antialiasing; almost to the point where the game is unplayable. I would highly recommend getting a ATI Radeon 9500 Pro or 9700 Pro before you try to take on this game, especially if you want antialiasing, anistrophic filtering and/or higher resoultions that 800x600.

Overall, Unreal II is a game with quality graphics, beautiful scenery, cool weapons, high graphical needs, short length and a mediocre story. Ranks 3/5 stars.

Summary: Don't buy this pile
Review: I seriously expected a really excellent game when i got this. I was expecting...well...more Unreal. Instead I got this weak Half Life-UT hybrid that is really pretty boring. I was not blown away by any of the graphics, and the soundtrack was nothing special. Certainly not as good as the original Unreal game, which I HIGHLY recommend. In this one, I never had the desire to keep playing. It was one more dead horse mission after the other.
This game got too much hype for what it's worth. It has no replayability either. I beat it in 3 days of non-steady playing. I don't think i can sit through that predictably awful storyline one more time. I'd wait for this thing to hit the bargain bin if I were you.

Summary: Beat it in five hours, what a waste!
Review: This is a really odd game. First of all, there isn't any dodge, a staple of FPS's since for ever. Secondly, it's really really slow, it's like one of those bad dreams where you are trying to run and...Unreal 2 has no run.
The story is un-engaging, the script is poor, the maps are linear. The whole feeling is one of claustrophobia and "why did I waste my money on this mess?"
I beat this in one evening and there is NO re-play value.

Summary: Not nearly as good as UT2003 or the first Unreal
Review: Don't waste your money on this game! I bought it yesterday, played it, and sold it to someone today. If you're looking for the mind blowing action, smooth graphics. and awesome rag-doll physics of Unreal Tournament 2003, keep playing UT2003. The engine in Unreal 2 is not as polished, and the aliens don't adhere to the innovatice physics system (humans do, but they tend to float off the ground when they die). Instead, the aliens just fall over when they die, and it looks cheap. And the story, well, if you don't mind talking to a bunch of bad voice actors for the first half hour, get this game. If you want to jump right into the action (the original unreal lets you do this), don't buy this game.

Yes, the graphics and sound are good, but in comparison to some other games out there, don't even bother. I'm actually thinking of replaying the first Unreal, this gave me such a bad taste in my mouth! My heart is broken, because I thought this game was going to be great.

Summary: beautiful
Review: don't believe the Gamespot review, this game is amazing. the visuals are the best i have ever seen in any game, the in game engine rivals most prerendered cinematics in other games. Sound is excellent, from the fast-paced trance background music to the alien cries of your foes.
The weapons are well designed and balanced, though i find myself using the standard assault rifle more often than most weapons. the enemies are interesting and amazingly detailed, and while enemy AI is somewhat poor at times, it remains fairly good for the most part.
Level design is good, with a variety of interesting and unique environments. Interiors and exteriors are both rendered gorgeously, and fit in well with one another.
A word about flame effects. This game has the best i have ever seen. they are orgasmically good. flames lick at you and your opponents, spread out from flame throwers and napalm coats surfaces. the smoke produced looks real enough that you can smell it.'
my only small gripe is that none of the terrain is destructible, not even shattering glass or bullet marks in walls, but i can forgive infogrames this time. the rest of the game is magnificent.
before you play, be SURE that you have the newest drivers for your video card, otherwaise odd things like messed up textures and character model skins will plague you until you install teh new drivers.

I happily give this game 5 stars, which is about 2 stars LESS than it deserves.

Summary: Reminds me of a cheerleader, all looks and no substance
Review: This game looks amazing, the weapons, the environments, everything in this game looks hands down better then anything else I've seen to date, but after you look past that you see that there isn't much else to it. The levels where you "command" marines are the only levels that are memorable in my opinion and after you spend 10 hours or so playing you realize that it's over and that's never a good sign when a game doesn't include any multiplayer or vs. the CPU modes. The story isn't enthralling and between each mission you have to waste time running around your ship prompting your shipmates for their predetermined dialog, cut scenes should have been used here considering it takes about 20 seconds or so to load up your ship and then another minute or 2 to get thru with your shipmates scripted dialog and then another 20 seconds to load up the next mission, unnecessary. The weapons aren't particularly good or bad with the exception of the pathetic assault rifle which, of course, is your main weapon. I hate not to recommend this game but I can't, it's simply too short with very little replayability and no multiplayer, if UT2k3 and this were combined into one game I'd give it 5 stars, but with the absence of multiplayer support and only 10 hours of gameplay, I can't recommend it no matter how pretty it is.

Summary: Its not half bad.
Review: I've played it...its not nearly as bad as everyone is saying. In fact the graphics weren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. You guys all need to shut up about how bad this game is cause its really not half as bad as you guys are complaining about. Just cause this is an average game doesn't mean that you guys should bash it. If you like average PC shooters then this is definately the game for you. The graphics are not as good as playstation 2 or anything. I don't want to hear anymore BAD reviews about this game. I've played many many games that were worse then this.

Summary: UNREAL II IS GONNA BLOW THE PEOPLE AWAY!!
Review: I've heard a lot about it, I've viewed the screenshots...the trailors...and on precisley February 4th, 2003, every unreal/action game fan on the planet be prepared for Unreal to come back better than ever, and like the last time, or MAYBE even better, it will blow da audience away! Finnaly, Unreal will take it's original lead as it did on May 22nd, 1998! Even though the release of Unreal Championship for the XBOX and Unreal Tournament 2003 has been great, they are just deathmatch improved version of games of unreal with an incredible improved unreal engine.(considering it's game play, AI, graphics, audio. etc.). But the first real single player sequel game will be coming sooner than later folks. At first I heard Unreal II required a Pentium II 450mhz and an modern 1999 released 32MB Hardware T & L 3-D hardware accelerated Direct(R)X8+ compatible video card, and 128 MB OF RAM. Then, 6 months later, I heard all the same except that it required an Pentium III 600mhz! So I hear it will also run fine on a Pentium II 450mhz with a high end video card and a decent amount of ram, with Direct X 8+. So it shall run GREAT, abolutley great on my almost 1 year ol' Pentium 4 1.7ghz NVIDIA GEFORCE 2 MX Family 256 MB of RAM computer!!!!!! I've heard the engine is alittle more stunning in every way than ut2003 except the game play, the game play will be MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better! And since it doesn't require the frame rates that ut2003 does. UT2003 was pretty hefty in system requirements, but the video system requirements and the sound system requirements weren't so bad. Anyway, Unreal II's atompshere and environments shall stun the audience! But, there is one problem:...NO MULTIPLAYER IN UNREAL II???!! Yes, unfornatley there will be no multiplayer. I read in a PC gamer magazine that pulling off multiplayer & singleplayer was biting off more than EPIC could chew. Besides that, I hear that people outside of EPIC are working on a COOP MOD for Unreal II. So at least...we'll have some what multiplayer! So Unreal fans, if you can just wait till that day, your patience WILL pay off I guarantee you that! Even people who are non-fans of unreal will probaly BE blown away by Unreal II! I AM SSSSSSOOOOOOOO EXCITED!! Unreal fans, just hold on to your seatbelt. Because on February 4th, 2003, it's gonna be a HUGE X-TREME RIDE BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION!! I truly RECOMMEND any action game fan or unreal fan stay tuned for Unreal II: the awakening!!;-)
