Summary: Fun, but lost some realism?
Review: Have to add more comments:

I guess what is really disappointing here...is that I was hoping for something different--an improvement into the World of UT.

The World of UT was awesome as most people who played it will agree( I spent nearly 3 years addicted to it)--all the way from the laugh of the RA announcer( when you ran into an oppenant from around a corner and blasted each other at close range) to the assault games( yes, I was in love with Assault, hammer jump, rocket launch, razor shots, etc.)

UT was better than Quake because of it 3D environment was better...of course, they are all just a games, but there was something special about the old UT maps and the game play, that MADE you want to play it for hours...UT2k3 lost this IMHO.

=================================

Sorry, all you UT2k3 lovers, but I played UT for 2 1/2 years, and really had a lot of fun. Went on to play some MOH:AA, GR, AA:O, BF1942 so I guess I'm getting used to realer environments.

Even though it's all just for fun, some of the Big Pills( adrenaline) and other powerups along with the player skins seem more like quake.

I know, then don't play this game if I don't like it. Yep, I'll still play it, but I had hoped that they would've taken what they started and developed it into something unlike any other game and kept the futuristic world with the little details that take away from the realism...ditch the pills, and make the powerups like the way the powerups look in tribes...like where you connect to a power station instead of running up to some huge "Plus" symbol.

UT2k3 is far advanced in graphics and game play, and I can't wait for more FPS games like BF1942 so that it's gets more realistic each year.

Summary: BEST GAME OUT THERE!!!!!!
Review: I got the demo for this game and man it rocks!!!!!! Even though you have to start instant action on the demo, it ROCKS!!!!! The graphics are pretty much the best u have seen! As good as halo graphics. I say if you play this game set it to ALOT of BOTS. It makes the game alot better. No flaw game play. If u are a kid and arent allowed to play m-rated games, this game has the feature to turn off gore and language!! That is good for u kids out there!

Summary: Different than UT and still a lotta fun
Review: We've all heard the complainers saying it's not UT. Well... it's not. But how exciting would that be? We've had UT for 3+ years. UT2k3 is a good evolution (not revolution)and is fun to play. After you buy it. try it out online. They'll have several servers for the original UT and UT2k3 then judge for yourself

Summary: Terrible!
Review: The original Unreal Tournament was great. The announcing voice came on at appropriate times. In the new one, it states obvious facts and gets annoying, fast. The old game had better weapons, and also had better skins. What's up with the guys in robot shells? Anyways, UT Gold was, and always will be, the best!

Summary: Wake up call... Super-rig,or Pentium II,THIS GAME RUNS GREAT
Review: Simply put, THIS GAME IS AMAZING. Let's face it, anything from here on out in the Unreal legacy is going to make Game of the Year. I played this game on a 1.7ghz system, with a 64bit Geforce card, and guess what... IT LOOKED AMAZING. Then I played the game on my older system... Only 500mz and an old 32 bit ATI card, and guess what... IT LOOKED AMAZING! Even still, i played it on my buddie's pentium 2. NO VIDEO CARD, and only 64 megs of ram. Guess what... LOOKED AMAZING!!
There are too many reviewers/doom-sayers out on the net, dampering the hopes of gamers by proclaiming that you'll need a super-rig and one hell of a graphics card to enjoy this game. I am here to tell you THAT IS NOT THE CASE AT ALL. This game boasts the extremely low requirements of 32 megs of ram, and a 450mhz system. Now I'll admit, with a better system, you would be able to crank the resolution and frame rate, etc... more little details. But i'm telling you, even with a low-end system this game looks great, and is ... addictive as hell. Get's the adrenaline and blood-lust pumping even more than its predecessor.

Summary: KickS As
Review: Ok in short. This game is great. The people that don't like it can suck a orange. If you are looking for a great FPS then buy it. No its not UT! Its a new game that is Mod-able. So if you want to change something write a mod. If you want to whine that its not like UT go play UT! I will be on both as well as many other games. WHIPLASH606. L33T this!

Summary: Sweet
Review: Ok guys, basically, this game rules. I've downloaded and played the demo...and I just blows away all other FPS's. The graphics are amazing, but not only that, the physics of the game rule. There will be no more killing someone and having half of their body hanging off of the ledge they were on. They will actually SLIDE down a cliff face, or fall and thud on the ground. In the original UT, there was a lot of "useless" gore. (If you played with the gore on.) In UT 2003, the gore is more physics based. For example, if you fire a rocket at someones leg, and kill them, there leg will blow off, instead of there entire body turning into giblets.

Next, the weapons. I personally find the weapons in UT2003 not up to par with the rest of the game. The weapons themselves are mostly the same as they were in UT, with only a few minor changes. Instead of the sniper rifle, there is a "Lightning Cannon" which is a sniper weapon which fires, you guessed, large lightning bolts. The Pulse Rifle was replaced by the Link Gun which is exactly the same, except that when you use secondary fire on an ally, whie he is using it, his beam will add your beams power to it, turning it into a devastating stream of energy. The Flak Cannon is the asme, except the flak that it fires is slightly closer together than in UT, allowing it to do more concentrated damamge. There is no more ripper. In addition to the redeemer, there is an "ion painter" that paints a target for an orbital Ion cannon to obliterate them. I think that they should've added more weapons to be honest.

Well, I hope this helps. If you liked UT, you'll love UT2003. If you like FPS's for that matter, you'll love UT2003.

Summary: The next futuristic FPS blockbuster!
Review: First off let me say that the first UT did not meet my expectations when compared to Quake3. The movement, even when the mouse sensitivity was maxed, was sluggish. So, I did'nt get my hopes up about 2K3. Then I downloaded the demo. OMFG! This game is a blast. It actually reminds me of a suped up Quake3. The demo runs great. I've only been playing multi-player games and it's real fluid. In fact I've been neglecting Wolfenstien for the last few days playing a new multi-player mode in UT2K3 where the 2 teams need to get possession of a gold ball and score in the opposing teams goal. You can pass the ball to your team-mates and defend or take it all the way for the score. Very addictive, especially the InstaGib with low gravity. I can't wait to see what other new modes were added. Of course there's still the game show announcer voice shouting DOUBLE KILL!, MULTI-KILL! and RAMPAGE! etc. when you're in the zone. This game represents the next ring on the ladder of arcade style combat. And if this game looks and plays this great, I can't wait to see what ID has in store for us in Quake4 or Doom. Man, just when the PS2 modem comes out and I get a little more excited about the future of online console gaming, a PC game like this comes out and pulls me right back in. Pick this up. It'll be money well spent.

Summary: Unreal 2003
Review: Anyone expecting a night and day advancement from this game is going to be disappointed. Unreal2003 is evolutionary not revolutionary, at least for the moment. There are improvements in nearly all departments. Weapons, graphics, game types, and style. ...

Even with all the improvements that Epic and Co have brought to the table, the true advancements to FPS gaming won't come till later this year when all the game moders have a chance to work their black voodo magic with the first time ever, included as well as directly supported, robust mod software tools that cover nearly every aspect of the game. The original UT has been and is still being played/modified after four years and it only came with a lame, difficult to use map creator that had no instructions. I expect Unreal Tournament 2003 to be with us in it's many forms even longer. ... give it a try for a couple of days, you won't be dissappointed.

Summary: A bit too real
Review: I love UT and once I heard they will release the sequel, I couldn't wait for it. A bit to my disappointment, the essence of UT was missing. Its not a fast pace game as in UT. Its not that I am not flexible, I play all the games in this genre, but UT2003 seems to lack a few things behind - not to mention the addition of the annoying voice of the anouncer. Many people who are used to UT, complains about the voice of the anouncer. Its like playing a 70's Smash hit TV or a commentator from one of those home shopping network - which makes it really annoying, thus the fun factor is reduced - it tends to become boring.
All in all UT2003 has one of the best graphics I had ever seen. It is recommended that you have a Geforce to have the "feel" of UT2003. I don't think I will be much enthusiastic about UT2003. Call me old fashion if you like. I still like UT more, there seems to be an adrenaline rush in UT. This version seems to be a futuristic gameplay modified version of Counter Strike in an Arena - since the maps are more of CS than UT or Quake Arena.
Whatever happened to gameplay? I sure enjoyed Quake Arena, Half Life, and UT... not much of a CS fan... and somehow not much interested in playing UT2003.
Some thing is missing!!!! I don't feel the adrenaline rush in this "fast pace" game....
I'm disappointed, yet, I'm giving 4 stars to the overall. Not to mention the limit on the translocator, the annoying announcer, and my favorite sniper rifle had been replaced by a futuristic gun (which is sooooooo slow), the weapons which had been weakened... anyway, for those who haven't played it UT, then there wouldn't be much to compare - so the gameplay will be fine for them (I think).
I would have given 3 if you are expecting a modified version of UT. Since the essence is missing. Some people play just for the sake of it. I have 5 computers at my house, and I have lan parties every evening. So, I am sort of a UTian. I guess I'm just old fashion.
