Rating: Summary: Cate is back! Review: If you enjoyed the hilarious shenanigans from the original NOLF, then you're going to love NOLF2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way! With an improved graphics engine (Jupiter engine) and incredible AI, it's a game that all gamers should have!
Rating: Summary: This game is great! Review: I've already played the teaser, (although I havent played the real game yet) and it was great. this game has great graphics, multiplayer, and overall gameplay. The first game was great so I expect this to be even better. The only problem is that my graphics card doesnt work with the game, and I wish the developers at monolith could at least change the compatibleness so everyone could play. On one of the reviews, it said "This game works good on bad computers, and great on good ones." But that's not true, I have 256 mb of ram, 40gb hard drive, 1.5 ghz processor, and (okay, this is pretty bad) a bad TNT2 card that's not compatible with T & L. So that thing about running well on a bad computer isn't true, most computers w/ 98 or 2002 or even XP (which I have) won't be able to run it unless they update their computer constantly. Just though this might be helpful check your graphics card before you order or buy or whatever. =)
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite games EVER! Review: I love first-person shooters (stealth or no stealth). I love James Bond-style stories. I love humor. I love great graphics. Therefore, I love this game. I will say that the first couple of levels are a little slow, but once you get out of Siberia, it is a blast. It is just the right mix of stealth and action. Yes, there is one of the "don't get seen" levels, but it's not really too difficult and it is pretty short. I haven't done it yet, but this is one of the few games that I can see myself playing through a 2nd (or 3rd) time. The multiplayer is a blast as well, especially if you get a few friends together for deathmatch. There is something really satisfying about shooting your friend with a glue bomb and then taking him out with a flaming crossbow bolt. If you liked the first NOLF, you should love this. If you thought that Contract JACK was so-so, you should enjoy this much better.
Rating: Summary: Lives up to the original with even better graphics Review: Nolf 2 is a game that will take a lot of your time, that we all agree. The second version comes with much better graphics and very cool effects. The levels are very well designed, so that you can actually "feel" the place when you play Cate. Yes, her voice has changed, and I must admit that I fell in love with Cate #1, but you get used to it. The sound is as good as the excellent sound in the first game. You get lots of gadgets and weapons, and the enemies are so much more clever this time. Their faces are actually like faces, they blink, make persuading lip movements, and make pertinent comments. And there are lots of them! Male, female, Japaneese, American, British: all. And you still have to rely heavily on stealth, something that originally made the Nolf Series popular, but you get to hide in the second version, which has its own merits and demerits. What is really impressive about this game is that the level design is so detailed. The levels in India are some of the best in any game. This game does get a bit tedious in same levels, but you stay busy all the time. And the graphics are really cool, much better than the predecessor, and environments are a lot more colorful. Overall, Nolf 2 makes a very worth successor to Nolf 1 and should be bought by all game enthusiasts as well as newbies.
Rating: Summary: Not quite as good as the original Review: This is a pretty good sequel to the first No One Lives Forever, though it lacks the cohesiveness of the first and just isn't as funny and original. Plus, some of the levels are overly long and the skill system is a little strange and annoying. Still, it's a great game [even if I can't get it to run on my latest system.]
Rating: Summary: A nice action game Review: This game is pure action. You will need to follow the "Intelligence" tips and shooting with accuracy. No puzzles, but if you love to be a spy, this is your game.
You can select three resolutions, according your video card. The game runs OK in a ATI Radeon 7500, and you can play a super spy, hard, normal or easy mode game.
About mature content, don't worry, it's only about blood and some realistics murders.
Rating: Summary: Just short of exceptional Review: No One Lives Forever 2 both surpasses and falls short of its predecessor’s high standards. Bad things first: The game is simply too short. If you are acquainted with this genre you will see the credits rolling after no more than 10-15 hours - NOLF 1 offered more than 10 additional hours of effective game duration. The level design and extravagancy of the visited locations is by far inferior to those of the original NOLF. While I still treasure memories of places like the alpine fortress or the space station from the first part, I doubt that anybody will sit agape in front of his/her screen looking at sometimes hideously uninspired locations like e.g. the green-brown desolation of an average midwest village in Ohio. Urgh. Often it simply lacks the joy of colors that oozed out of every pixel in NOLF 1. But then again they throw sights at you like U.N.I.T.Y.‘s headquarters and you can’t help to love this game. And love it I do.
One reason were the superb gags...oh my, the GAGS! Sometimes I sat in front of my screen and burst out laughing (My personal favourite: the villain with the inadequate villain’s laugh – unforgettable!). The sense of humour is more mature and subtle than in the first part, though that was already on a very high level. Absolutely conducive to it is undoubtedly NOLF 2‘s first-rate cast of voice actors. But even reading all the small pieces of intelligence that you pick up on the way you can‘t help a smirk when NOLF 2‘s writers take a swing at everything Cold War, naturally taking advantage of all kinds of clichés about Russians and Americans that you can think of. Storywise NOLF 2 is as close to high Hollywood standards as you can get at the moment (end ’04) which is not a bad thing at all.
Finally, I absolutely want to recommend this game. Like Part 1 it is an original, even though it is likely that most of the players will have forgotten much if not all of it once they are through. Considering the numerous improvements that Monolith has made in relation to its predecessor and which I did not mention here (skill system, stunning facial motion capturing, to name only a few) one shudders at the thought of how great a more than likely sequel could be.
Rating: Summary: Who is Cate Archer??? Review: Nicely Done Litech! I thought for a brief moment, the $10 I was thinking on buying birth control with was wasted, but thanfully I was mistaken! After a slow start, the story gets interesting. This is one Game where even if you play it in cheat mode, it wont help you much. Which I got frustrated with at the beginning, but then, actually let me play the game for longer! From Graphics to Sound, this game has it all. Value for Price? - you CANNOT go wrong!
I hope the put out a Part 3 to this series! For those of you who spent $50 on Doom 3, hows your computer holding up stoopid!?
Rating: Summary: A great sequel to a great title Review: Whoever said sequels are bad, this one proves them wrong.
No One Lives Forever 2 is a brand new game in itself, not just a sequel. New game engine, new characters, missions and weapons.
It even contains rpg elements. Players obtain points by completing mission objectives and discovering secret documents. In turn, these points can be used to improve certain aspects of the game's character such as strength, weapon proficiency, etc.
Very cool game but multiplayer is a bit on the childish and boring side.
Rating: Summary: A breath of fresh air for the stale FPS genre Review: Humor, memorable characters, and unique weapons all make this game stand out from the crowd. Plus it still has great graphics and sound by today's standards. If you like FPS and want a little break from the usual dark games in the genre, then what are you doing reading this? BUY THE GAME!
