Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: This game is awesome! You are in total control of how the mission goes. Being able to outfit your mech (the huge battle machine you pilot) makes for a good experience once you get out there and the enemy is pounding on you. You can choose what weapons your mech carries, how much armor it has, even what kind of paint job it wears! The mission play is very cool, the battle field makes you employ tactics- how you confront the enemy, how well you use your surroundings, there are even items on the ground that will help you win the fight. You dont feel like your watching what happens from affar, you deffinately get the sense that your there- making everything unfold the way it does. The graphics are top of the line. An emensely satisfiying game, this deffinately five-stars!
Rating: Summary: Another great Mechwarrior game! Review: I played MW4 from start to finish. My only complaint is that the storyline's too short! Everything works so wonderfully (though my processor and video card couldn't handle it smoothly with any explosions nearby) and the storyline keeps you interested, but suddenly it's over and you're wanting MORE. Microsoft guys, if you're out there -- make an epic for us! Something where you take over an empire, planet by planet. THAT would rock.In the game, you're an upstart young duke whose family has been massacred and planet stolen (how's that for shoplifting?) as an example to all who would resist Katrina Steiner, sister to the Archon-Prince who just wants a piece of the action for herself. You start off slowly, thank goodness, and things get successively more difficult and involved as time goes on. The main objective is to win back your planet and take out the more distant relatives who helped to kill your parents and siblings. It's a bit of a narrow focus, giving way to a somewhat short game... but BUY IT! And then encourage Microsoft to make something BIGGER. I give the game five stars for excellent action that keeps your keyboard/joystick well-used and your nights sleepless.
Rating: Summary: The Best MechWarrior Yet!!! Review: Having played all the MechWarriors, this game offers excellent graphics, great tactical scenerios, challenging missions plus it's a good entertainment dollar to boot. Buy it and enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: Mechwarrior 4 Review: Great Game! Ive been playing mechwarrior right from the beginning and this ranks in my top five. A great addition to the Battle Tech Universe.
Rating: Summary: I would give this game a 10 if I could Review: this game was made to absolute perfection. the graphics are extemely exceptional, one of a kind. I know you gamers out there feel the same as I do, We need a MW5, with even more mechs, and more missions to play. To my opinion mechwarrior 4 vengeance should be awarded the BEST GAME OF FOR THE YEAR 2001, without a doubt, I am sure you gamers out there feel the same way I do. Trust me I bought many games this year, as I state on all my reviews, I am very particular about the games I buy. I am sure this particular game was difficult to make, But they did an exceptional job in doing so, thank about it, and thank you: PEACE:
Rating: Summary: Good, but not great Review: The graphics are incredible, but Microsoft definately sanitized the MechWarrior we all know and love. Another bummer is there is no autopilot and no satellite uplink. The game is worth playing, but I would wait until it's on the bargain shelf.
Rating: Summary: Good Game Review: Mech 4 is a good all round game. You can play many different types of kinds of battles. It never gets tiring. Make sure your computer is up to date though because this game is very graphics heavy. I prefer the heaver Mechs my tactic is stand there and blast away. That doesn't always work because in the missions you can't always get the heaver Mechs. So practice with the smaller Mechs too. The best way to fight with them is to use torso twist a lot and run circles around the other Mechs.
Rating: Summary: Close but not quite. Review: If you are a long time player of Mech games, then heres how to gauge MW4: If you loved MW3, you'll hate (or at least be very dissapointed with) MW4. If you hated MW3, than you'll love MW4. There are many intelligent improvements made in MW4, but ultimately, the look and feel of the game is painfully cartoonish and hard to take seriously. The actors portaying the storyline fall far short of the mark in conveying the intended drama of the story. Missions are fairly interesting, music is superb (composed by Duane Decker, who also did the soundtrack of the MW3 expansion 'Pirates Moon'), terrain detail is astounding, and the early lunar missions skyline is awe inspiring; But despite these pros and a few others, MW4 just doesn't deliver the impact it should. As far as this pilot is concerned, Mechwarrior 3 is king of the battlemech games, even though its not perfect either. If your thinking of MW4; save the cash and spend half of it on the MW3 that comes with Mechcommander Gold and Pirates Moon(...). But dont take my word for it, look at some pics from 3 and some from 4; Then choose your mech...to each his, or her, own.
Rating: Summary: Great Graphics and Gameplay! Review: Mechwarrior 4 is by far the best in its class. It's control system is complex yet easy to learn. The plot is very well developed and the graphics are incredible. The opening cinema makes it look real. Mech selection for the player is excellent although I prefer Mechwarrior 3's mechlab to the simpler, but more limited mechlab for #4.
Rating: Summary: Fun but too short Review: Pros-Fun. Smooth graphics, easy to use the mechlab and a pretty good story. Cons-Way too short. The campaign is not more than a short weekends worth. If you are not into playing this game online, there is very little replay value in this game. But the game is cool and fun to play. If you don't mind not having a game you will play for months, it's pretty good.
