Rating: Summary: Exactly how I imagine WWII! Review: I'm a WWII buff, and spend most of my waking time emmersed in a in a WWII era daydream world. For me, WWII is the center of the universe. I am also an avid gamer and usually like the Rainbow 6 series for its immersive quality. I've just played the demo, and it has taken parts of that WWII fantasy world (American perspective after D-day) and made it as real as possible. Outstanding! Playing it is like living inside a Stephen Ambrose book. MOHAA has just totally blown any of the R6 games out of the running for the most immersive game. The only complaint I would have is the lack of control that the player has over their squad. I'd like to be able to tell them to get back or to get down while I snipe an enemy for example, instead they end up getting killed. At the same time, one develops a sense of responsiblity for their men. You really don't want them to die. Unlike R6 where one could care less. This is all in all the best game I've ever played in my life. Avid gamers may disagree, but WWII buffs shouldn't miss it!
Rating: Summary: Simply the best game of the year Review: I'll make it simple for you: The graphics are kickin', the gameplay is superb, the multi-player rivals Counterstrike, and the single player beats all. You will not find a better FPS game on the market right now.
Rating: Summary: My Bad Review: This game runs super slow and the graphics and gameplay fall well short of Castle Wolfenstein, which runs beautifully on my system. Hoping the actual game will run properly, because I've always thought that the Medal of Honor series is pretty nice.Above is my original review after only playing the multiplayer demo... After playing the single player demo, however, I must admit that my original assumptions were incorrect. Though I feel that the graphics still fall a little short of Wolfenstein, the more true-to-life style of gameplay more than makes up for it. Though not entirely realistic - i.e. being able to walk w/the scope enabled and carrying over 100 lbs of equipment/guns, but it's still all good... highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Disagree with Andrew Review: I'd have to disagree with Andrew from Illinois. After playing the multiplayer demo and single player demo, I'd have to say this game has used the Quake 3 engine well. Return to Castle Wolfenstein has to be the biggest joke when it comes to reality for a World War II game, although I can see it being a fun game for some. The Medal of Honor demo immerses the player in the environment it creates with its beautiful shadow effects, terrain, ambient sounds, and clever AI. I was most impressed with the game and can't wait for it to come out. If you play the demo and want some closer to realistic battle damage, play it in hard mode. The reason I gave the game 4 stars is because I haven't played the full game, just that one level and the one multiplay map. From that, however, I can tell the game will not disaapoint.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Amazing Review: You've all probably heard about the great graphics and sound of MOH:AA, but thats not actually its strong point. I just played the single player demo and I can definitely say that this game has the best artificial intelligence of any game EVER. The only games that come close are Half-Life and Unreal Tournament. Both your friendly squad and the Germans behave exactly like real soldiers would and provide a real threat. The enemy can take cover behind almost anything, they work in squads to flank you, they shoot around corners, they snipe while hidden in foliage, and they cover each other's advances toward your squad. Your squad on the other hand covers you when needed, clears garrisoned buildings in a very realistic fashion (grenades around corners, use of point men), and will also call out any and all threats that they see ("Germans, right flank!"). Your team is a real asset in missions. In games like Ghost Recon, your team is not necessarily essential (its fairly easy to beat the game with one or two people on your squad and using very little saves). In this game however, you develop a real dependency on your squad and you WANT to see them to survive. If they die, the game becomes one hell of a lot harder. If the grahphics, sound, and every other aspect of this game were not good (which they aren't by a longshot), I would still highly recommend this game from the AI I've seen in the SP demo. Simply amazing.
Rating: Summary: Medal of Honor, Allied Assault Review: This game rocks. I've played both single and multiplayer demos. The guy who says that it sucks with gamespy probably had a bad server. Not the games fault. I have RtCW and it's not quite as good as this. Will buy the instant it's available.!!!
Rating: Summary: Pathetic online play, single player is very good Review: While the single player demo shows how good this title can be, the multiplayer portion represents some of the most flawed online gaming I've seen in a while. EA touts this title as being "realistic" but the MP aspect feels more like Quake 3 Arena with terrible weapon damage that in no way reflects WW2 combat. It did not take half a clip or more from a SMG/MG to take out the opposition nor could a soldier fire a rocket launcher at their feet and take minimal damage while wiping out everyone else in a small room, lol. The MG42 sound is not even close to correct while other weapon sounds are right on target. This title reflects EA'$ track record of poor MP implementation in their sports titles and disregard to thier customer base for not allowing the true developer, 2015, to finish the multiplayer code. Expect a slew of patches if they are serious about improving the currently poor netplay. If you want to play the best, BY FAR, WW2 FPS onlne then make sure you have a copy of Half Life, ...
Rating: Summary: Nice! Review: When I first reviewed this game, I based everying on the multiplayer demo. I had a shakey experience but that wasn't the game's fault, it was the server I was connected to. I just downloaded the singer player demo and I am impressed. Very rich war like experience and the graphics are amazing. I am a big Quake 3 and recent Return to Castle Wolfenstein fan. This game is more along the lines of PG-13 which is just fine. This game is designed to be a war like experience. A huge improvement over the previous installments on Playstation. Great job EA!
Rating: Summary: Never Before... Review: ...has there been such an amazingly real depiction of war. Other games which seem to stand out in my mind are Return to Castle Wolfenstein (minus the monsters/zombies) and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. The sound, the graphics and the gameplay are all outstanding. Fan or no fan of the previous Medal of Honor games, this is a must buy. The first two were great for thier time but in an era of constant newly-made technologies, EA does a great job not only to transfer platforms for the series of games but to update the series accordingly.
Rating: Summary: Medal of Honor:Allied Assault Review: Like many others,I have both Medal of Honor games for the PSone. I have to agree that it's an experience you don't want to miss. If you're new to the series, you ought to do yourself a favor and pick both of them up and check them out. They're part of the 'Greatest Hits' line now and are really affordable... I look forward to MOH:Allied Assault because this will be the game that brings the series to the next level. More realistic graphics, more immersive missions, more intensity. You can rest assured that I'll have my copy once it's made available. I'll be there with bells on. Dreamworks Interactive has did a fine, outstanding job with Medal of Honor in the past. I think they will continue this tradition and take it to even better heights. If you're an MOH fan(like me) or an avid history buff...you'll find alot to like about this one. Check it out.
