Summary: Starts Off With a Bang! . . . and Ends With a ???
Review: Being a 1st person shooter, WWII history and Saving Private Ryan fan I was looking forward to this game for a while. It starts off with one of the best opening levels I've ever played (and that's saying allot). The heavy scripting is so well done it completely immerses you into the world of a WWII soldier. Trying to keep this short so I'll hit on the major points;

GRAPHICS
Very good. Nice explosions and character modeling. Lacked some of the punch of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but will not disappoint you.

GAMEPLAY
Fantastic. There are different types of levels from running around like in most FPS, to being the gunner on the back of a jeep, it's all fun.

SOUND
Great. From the 'clink' of your rifle's clip running out, to the enemy soldiers yelling out 'Actung!'. Music is always appropriate and adds to the overall effect.

LEVEL DESIGN
Amazing. This is where it really shines. I have never been going through a level and caught myself thinking, 'This is a great game.' while playing until now. The opening level draws you right into the action. The Omaha Beach Landing mission, yes it is straight out of Saving Private Ryan which I think is a great thing, absolutely amazed me. I had been reading about it for months before release and building it up in my mind the whole time. It did not disappoint. Having said that, the last couple missions were not that good (kinda boring actually), but the first 3/4 of the game are well worth the cost. The last level gives you no warning that this is the end which did upset me a bit.

CONS
The ending [wasen't so good] and came on too quick. You will need a good system to enjoy it...

Buy it and enjoy . . .

Summary: GREAT WWII GAME; BEST EVER!!!
Review: If you like WWII and you like first person shooters, than this is the game for you. It is really great. Simmilar to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but still with big differences. By far the best scene was the storming of Normandy. Right out of Saving Private Ryan. Really great. Very realistic. The only reason I give four stars instead of five is that the missions are a little boring, at least so far. It's mainly kill everyone and get to the end of the board. But I am only half way throught the game. Highly recomend!

Summary: BEST 1ST PERSON SHOOTER OUT THERE
Review: What can I say. I waited and spendt a [lot] load of money on Return to Castle Wolf and was very disappointed with it. BUT ...MEDAL OF HONOR ROCKS!!!!! One, if not the best game of the year.. I would deffently suggest buying this one if you buy just 1 first person shooter this year.. The online play is great (over 4000 people on always), and the levels hold my attention, unlike other recently games that have come out....BUY THIS GAME.. Works great on my old system (P3 1000ghz, geforce 2 mx 64 meg) Says that it incorporates the new GEFORCE 4 technology, but I cant see it.. Can you?

Summary: I've changed my mind!
Review: After reading the reviews of this game I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. But when I first started playing it I thought, 'what are all these guys talking about - its not that realistic?' Well I take that back - this game is great. I still think the characters look a little bit cartoonish but the gameplay is amazing. I only have a few small criticisms but they in no way spoil the game, they're only slight irritations. Firstly, there's no blood and guts. Call me gruesome but there's something deeply satisfying about lobbing a grenade into a bunker and watching a load of arms, legs and heads come flying out. Obviously they wanted to get a PG rating for greater sales. Secondly, there's a couple of levels where you're in a forest and it really pi**ed me off. It took me forever to find my way out of that damn forest. Finally, the game is a bit of a system hog. I more than meet the system requirements but I find I always have to start the game in safe(600x800 16bit color)mode or the thing wont start. Then I have to go back out to the options screen and change to a higher setting. Other than this - the game is just superb.

Summary: Excellent Game
Review: This game will take you in. The game is very similar to the movie saving private ryan. Excellent graphics, excellent sound,
almost too good of sound you can hear everything. The beach landing alone is worth it. This game is the closest you can get to ww2 combat without having been there. It really makes you appreciate what they must have went through.

Summary: Good game, but not great
Review: I was really excited about this game. The prospect of a realistic WWII first person shooter definitely caught my attention. The graphics are great, the sound is phenominal, and the game is hard (in my opinion anyway). I disagree with the comments on the multiplayer. I have spent many hours at LAN parties playing Quake III, Unreal Tournament, and Halo to name a few, and I am eager to play this game with my friends on a network.

There are deathmatch, team and objective based categories. For objective based, you can choose to play the D-Day invasion, infiltrate a German factory to blow up a rocket, blow up a bridge or make your way through a grave yard to dismantle German artillery. The level of detail is astounding, but I wish that there would be more interactive vehicles. (The only vehicle that you can actually drive is a Tiger tank). Also, Germans can fire around corners, drop to their stomachs to fire and pick up your grenades and hurl them back at you. You, however, can do none of these. Also, the Germans know where you are before you even see them, day or night. Their snipers rarely miss, even from a great distance. I think there should be a bit more stealth in the game, but oh well, it is still a lot of fun to play.

The missions are varried (though there are only 6 official missions with 20-30 submissions in between). The game draws heavily from Saving Private Ryan, from D-Day to the defense of a bridge from the advancing German army, but I think this enhances the excitement of the game. I would have liked to see some elements of Enemy at the Gates here, but that could easily be done in a mod or a patch = )

I only buy a game once in awhile when I think it is going to be a great game. This is one of them (ok, so I lied a bit in my title-that's just based on the minor problems i have already mentioned). Enjoy

Summary: Stay away from this one...
Review: This game held so much promise. EA has produced some great stuff in the past. I reckoned this would be no exception. I was wrong.

1) How can one have a first-person-shoot-em-up game with no joystick?!! Believe it or not, the game does no allow for joystick control. The programmers at EA expect the player to aim, fire multiple weapons, move (including sidestepping), look in every direction, jump, crouch, reload, strafe, lean, and then some, with just a mouse and keyboard.

2) Overhead - If you have a boss machine, the game will use all resources up. If you don't, it'll try to anyway.

3) Bugs - Even with a patch, no program has ever crashed my machine more. The licensed Id/Quake engine is tried-and-true, but it appears that the EA programmers have added so much unworkable garbage over it, the end result has reached a point that the game has become one big self-destruct mechanism.

4) Realism - I'm no big fan of blood and gore, but EA's political correctness has completely eliminated that part of the realism of combat from the game so they could claim a 'T-Teen' rating.

Sorry for the bad news regarding a game with so much potential - but the bottom line is that it's very unfun and problematic. Despite ample drive space, it's so bad that it's been removed from my machine.

Summary: Worth every penny
Review: I purchased this game as well as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and I can say that Medal of Honor is significantly more fun in single player mode and has very few problems (video, continuity, etc) that I thought Wolf had. In fact, I gave up on Wolf before I finished the single player and bought this game. Most of the levels are well designed and follow a fairly straight forward storyline. Graphics, sounds, AI are all very well done for the most part. The Omaha beach landing level is particularly amazing. I haven't played much of the multi-player yet - initial impressions are positive although not nearly as fast-paced as Quake 3/Team Arena.
