Rating: Summary: Allied Assault gets a high recommendation from me... Review: I've been a longtime fan of Medal of Honor since it first began on the PSone. I've collected them and will continue to collect them as I love war games and first-person shooters. Needless to say, when this came out, I had to check it out. I must say I'm impressed. EA did an excellent job with this game for the PC. I hope they continue to make the Medal of Honor series for the PC. I think everyone needs a taste of MOH. It's thoroughly engaging, exciting and intense with reality based objectives. The graphics are crisp, and they make use of the Quake 3 Engine quite nicely. Although, they lack the detail and atmosphere of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, at least to me. The Medal of Honor series has always been famous for its' sound so it's no surprise that this game has exceptional sound. Everything from germans speaking to shotgun fire, everything is topnotch. That's what gets you so engulfed in the game because you feel as though you're actually there. Control is deadon. The gameplay is quite challenging, too, especially the Omaha Beach level. I really loved this game and highly recommend it to all first-person shooter fans or war fans alike. You'll find after playing it that you could be playing one of the greatest shooters of all time. Sure, it may have alot in common with Return to Castle Wolfesntein(which is an outstanding game in its' own right) but this is a reality based game. I salute and honor all those who served in World War 2 just as this game strives to honor them. Thank you for all that you've done.
Rating: Summary: Greatest game ever! Review: In Medal Of Honor you play as Lt. Powell a soldier in the 1st Ranger Battalion. This is one of the most realistic games I have played in my life. Though I have only played the demo I hope the game is even better. One of the things I notice the most is, when you shoot a Kraut in the knee, stomach, or any place that isn't fatal sometimes they get back up and start shooting at you again. This game takes you from North Africa all the way to the Rhineland. The weapons are all real and the same with the uniforms (I know cus I'm a history buff)the only non-realistic thing is that you get shot about 25 times before you die, and you can't kill a teamate. Alot of this game though is taken from Saving Prive Ryan, ex. the cafe in the Demo (Nebelwurfer Hunt), or Omaha Beach (Coast Guardmen yelling "30 seconds!" This is overall one of the greatest games ever made and anybody would enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: As real as it gets in the digital ether Review: My system: AMD Athlon 1700+, Abit KR7A-133, 512MB DDR 2100, GeForce 3 with 64MB DDR.Superb play with the system described above. The Quake III engine performs flawlessly in 1024X768 / 32-bit. The scenarios are very real with some historical perspective included. The landing at OMAHA beach is taken right out of Saving Private Ryan. It sends chills down your back after you realize you've quick loaded 20 times just to get to the beach head. I recommend playing at the medium level until you get a feel for the game. Overall game play is fantastic and requires some accurate shooting in many of the scenarios.
Rating: Summary: This game deserves the Medal of Honor Review: Considering that it is a not so recent game, the graphics are amazing. Not only that but the game play is incredible. It may be difficult but it is realistic and fun. I personally enjoyed this much more than Castle Wolfenstein. The game has great sounds and music. The introduction music is great and so are the credits. I don't want to go full details on this game since it is a waste of time. But if you are willing to lose ... then this game is the choice you should make.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Incredible Review: Medal Of Honor is probably one of the most detailed World War 2 games there is. As a shoot 'em up fan i can say that this game is the best on the market right now. Last year's Return To Castle Wolfenstein was not quite as detailed as Medal Of Honor in weaponry, levels, and graphics. The AI is'nt really taken care of, enemies suddenly come out of rooms where you had already killed everyone, or one moment you're still, then you take a step forward and you're shot at by a group of people that came out of nowhere. In close-combat the enemies are good, they lie down to get a better shot and dodge bullets. If you get too close they'll hit you with they're guns, they throw back grenades, and are very stealthy. Some even hide in closets! The levels are vast and explorable, which is important. Well, my advice is buy it!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best, Most Realistic Game on PC Review: I just got a really good computer, and one of the reasons is because of MOHAA. It is a really realistic and really fun. The sound is incredible, the shells hitting you and the ground sounds like your actually there. The D-Day level is really, really, fun. Can't make it better. The way the enemy AI is pretty good. They act like real soldiers. Some run away, some take cover and wisley and accuratly fire at you, and some take cover and blindly fire at you. The levels are fun, yet challenging (especially the later levels). The graphics are really good, better than Frontline (the MOH sequel for PS2), and it came out after MOHAA. There are six missions, with about five levels per mission. Mission 1- Algeria, North Africa. November 7, 1942. You have to recue a SAS Agent being held prisinor. After you do you have to blow up som flaks and many other things. Mission 2- Trondhiem, Norway. February 12, 1943. You have to blow up a u boat by dressing up as a nazi soldier, kill a prototype, and many other things. Mission 3- Normandy, France. June 6, 1944. You land on Omaha beach on D-Day and clear out a bunker, kill an anti-aircraft gun, and many other things. Mission 4- Normandy, France. June 12, 1944. Your deep behind enemy lines and you have to rescue a downed pilot and do many other things. Mission 5- Brittany, France. August 20, 1944. You have to capture a king tiger tank and defend a base and many other things. Mission 6- Siegfried, Germany. January 18, 1945. I really don't know what you do. Get this game, EA Games got everything right on it, trust me. It's worth the $50.
Rating: Summary: Won't run more than 5 minutes on recommended hardware Review: This would be a five star review if only the program would run for more than 5 minutes. I'm running on a 1GHz P3, 256M RAM, ATI Rage 128. The demo runs fine but the full program doesn't like the video card because it keeps causing it to send an invalid signal and I have to reboot. I have the latest drivers. I don't have this problem with any other games. If you have the same video card as me, I don't recommend this game.
Rating: Summary: Lacking a few elements Review: First of all, the game is fun to play. It's fairly exciting and the array of environments cant be beat. Like others have said this game is comparable to RTC Wolfenstein, except with worse graphics. The biggest problem with the game is they try to make it as realistic as possible, but forgot that when a granade goes off between your legs, a body becomes "bodies". There is no blood, and a wounded person is only wounded for a few seconds. The editorial review pretty much says it all. If you want a more realistic feel go with Operation: Flashpoint, if you want a little more sci-fi and better graphics go with RTCWolfenstein. Overall this game is worth the money, but only if you have the ones i've already mentioned.
Rating: Summary: Allied Assault Bringing the Pain!! Review: I have never played the MOH series before so I was brand new to the scene when I picked up MOH: Allied Assault last week. I was very impressed. Medal of Honor is a very well made game and is a lot of fun to play. Here is a quick rundown of my opinions on the game: Graphics: The graphics are very good, but I have seen better. (Namely, Return to Castle Wolfenstein) The game somtimes can get very dark in some areas and you have to adjust the brightness level accordingly. Gameplay: The gameplay is great. A great weapons system and the gameplay is easy to pick up on quickly. Storyline: The storyline for the game is awesome as it is modeled after real events of WWII. Right down to storming the beaches of Normandy (which by far is the hardest damn part in the game) Overall: Overall, I think the game is great. It has a few flaws, such as a couple graphic glitches but nothing that can't be overlooked. One of the things I liked best about this game is that it has a lot of variety in the types of things you have to do. Not just shoot the bad guy. You have to steal battle plans, plant explosives, disable vehicles and so on. Very cool. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. MOH is a great game but it just can't hold up to the level that RTCW is at. I would say that this is the second best FPS I have ever played. RTCW being the best. Both games are great and if you're a fan of FPS or WWII games, either one is a safe bet.
Rating: Summary: Great game, but the Graphics engine is dissapointing !!! Review: This game is great in all aspects, but it`s engine designing is really something which even high-end hardware is fed up of. Really, I presenty own a very high end MONSTER, truly yes, A pentium 4 1.6 ghz northwood (faster than a Williamette 2ghz) 256MB RDRAM pc800 (faster than 32MB RDRAM in Ps2) A geforce3 graphics card (MOre advanced than Ps2) A Creative SBlive5.1 DE (very much advanced than in Ps2) I`ve got the latest drivers for all the hardware and am using WindowsXP which is said to be very compatible with this game, BUT the game with FULL and MEDIUM detail also never goes smooth. I mean the frame rates touch 40fps but the game consumes very high RAM which RTCW, more beautiful in graphics goes smooth around 110fps with AA enabled, I think EA should release a patch and make the life of gamers` easy
