Summary: Tested it and loved it
Review: This game is awesome, no bsing you its damn good. The only game close to compare it to is counter-strike. Counter-strike is a type of game where you run around shooting everyone you see on the opposing force, no tactics involved really. Unless you in a clan match and have more communication with your team. But in Raven Shield tactics and strategy make your team win the round. If your with your team you have a greater chance of surviving than if you were alone running around. The game doesnt rely on how fast and accuratetely you can put your cursor over an enemy, but it requires you to think before you open a door, and watch your back. The way you can open the door slightly to peak through is a great idea. I've tested the game before, despite its glitches and problems, its a great game. I suspect the problems will be fixed before retail, and if they aren't its just a matter of time before they send out some patches for the game. If your looking for a strategic first person shooter with awesome graphics, this is a must buy.

Summary: Needs lots of Work before retail
Review: After reading a few of these very optimistic reviews, I thought it was necessary to give a more balanced view of the upcoming game from a less biased source.

Rainbow Six (RvS) has been hailed by many, like Global Operations (GO) several months before, as the next Counter Strike (CS) killer, the game that will draw so many bleary eyed kids away from their aging online experience in CS. Well, RvS has got the good, the bad, and the buggy.

Bugs - The MP demo was release months ago, when the original game was suppoed to ship. The game has been delayed mulitple times, and it's launch pushed back 4-5 months total now. When the demo was released it was an alpha release at best. The bugs in the game are everywhere, gun bugs, ladder bugs, sight/scope bugs, most found it difficult to log on or even play for more than 5 mins without one of the games thousand bugs deriding their fun. A patch or two later, we now have a slightly tolerable beta on our hands. Basically, the MP demo for RvS is one of the worst, buggiest, sloppiest demos i ever played.

Graphics - Built on the new Unreal engine, at first the graphics look very nice. Take a look around more though and you will see bland interiors/exteriors, repetitive patterns and skins, etc. Take a look at the detail and graphics of Americas Army (AA), RvS doesnt even compare to the beauty of AA, and they are both on the same engine.

SP vs. MP - If you are going to buy this game, get it for SP (Single Player), not MP (Multiplayer). SP will probably be where this game shines if it does, the MP experience is pretty lame. Only 6 total MP maps, just plain lame for a MP game. No MP game should go gold without 12 maps min. 3 maps are already out for the demo, so that means you're 50 bucks will buy 3 new maps. Yuk. Not my idea of a long lasting game or a good deal.

Weapons - The good thing about RvS is the wonderful selection of weapons. When you see dozens of ARs, SMGs, Snipers rifles, you will be psyched. Well, they take the fun out of this too. First is the horrible perspective on the weapons. They look odd, ugly, poorly detailed. Look at a game like GO, the weapons models done over a year ago blow RvS models away. Also, some of the guns in the game so outbalance any other, you wont choose any other weapon but the G36. Basically, almost every player online now uses nothing but the G36, it so dominates all other guns it makes them all useless.

Gameplay - This is the last area where RvS just falls apart. RvS cant decide whether its a CS clone, or an arcade shooter. There is a one-shot-one-kill mentality, but everyone runs around at full speed with weapons in full burst. So you die in the first 30 secs, you sit there for 10 mins waiting for the next round. RvS wants to be a stealthy tactical game, it is not. Its a run and gun shooter pretty much, so expect it when you play online.

Overall, at this point RvS gets a 5 out of 10, and that is being kind. Maybe with tons of work, somehow the retail release will push it up to a 7 out of 10. The MP is lousy, stay away, just play the demo, dont waste money on a game that wont offer anything more in retail. If you just want SP, then this may be fun for you.

Summary: Played The MP demo, is good...
Review: No Rephase that: Is PRETTY good! I've always slowed my pace down to sit back and enjoy Tom clancy games-especially the Rainbow Six series ones. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 2: rogue spear and it's expansions along with Tom Clancy's: Ghost Recon plus Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell really impressed me and not just because of the engine they used-but because of the hyper seamless real-time game play and storyline and tatics/physics and so on that really made the Tom Clancy games a true hit. Splinter Cells special point? Graphics, Physics, Audio, Environment, etc. Ghost Recon? Similiar to rainbow six, just a lot harder with better graphics ;-). rainbow six? real-time game play tatics and much more. After playing the Rainbow Six 3 MP demo, I was very impressed. The Graphics were very impressive since they were using the Unreal II engine, having it require a p3 600 with 128 mb of ram and a modern 3D hardwat t & L acceleartor(such as the geforce 2/radeon 7500 etc series). The game features realistic graphics, it's lighting engine is good but what really makes it special is it's detail on cloths, characters, weapons, environments(and not just tech-graphicslly), physics, and more. The reason why I give this four stars is because #1: It ain't perfect. #2: It's only MP in this demo. #3final: It can be fustrating. And a few other reasons I don't want to explain in this review. Ran decent on my system. My system is aging compared to the communities' though....:/. Oh well soon I'll be buying a NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128MB DDR SDRAM + for it :) and 256 mb of pc800rdram, and soon after I'll be getting yahoo sbc dsl and a bit more :D! Well what does it matter. Lets just say the demo is great! I suggest it for tom clancy fan gamers :-)

Summary: Great Multiplayer Game!!!
Review: I downloaded the multiplayer demo a few days ago, and I've been playing ever since. I normally play Counter-strike, but this game just blows it away. The graphics are 100x better, if not more. It is also a more realistic game. Stealth is as important as shooting skill. You don't have to pay for the guns in this game, but you do need to choose wisely and put on the right attachments. So far, the maps i've seen look amazing, and I know they'll keep getting better. If you are a fan of Counter-strike or any other multiplayer shooter, you gotta check out this game!

Summary: Could Be Great
Review: This review is based on my experience with previous Rainbow Six titles and my experience with the demo.(v. 1.2 Download it if you havn't already) Anyway, It should be great. The graphics are very good, I think they use the Unreal 2 engine, and if you have a good computer, it is really pretty. The sounds are also top notch, from the guns to the footsteps of your unsuspecting enemies... I know the single player version will rule all, if you like realism, because all the other Red Storm games ruled all in single player. This is almost certainly going to continue that trend. With the amount of features and weapons at your disposal you cannot go wrong. Based on the multiplayer demo, I know friendlies and you will move well(as in squad formations) and the enemies will go down in 1 or 2 well placed shots, and so will you. Oh yea I forgot to mention that if you get shot in the leg, you start gimpin around and become a sittin duck.

The game hurts, in the demo anyway, in multiplayer. It is fun and all, but you basically have to have high speed internet, because if your ping is above 150 you will lag like crazy. Also the animations are a little blocky and not fluid. There are also quite a few bug([Darn] Ladder Bug!), but I expect all these things to be ironed out by the time the full version comes. It could be a great one. A must for fans of the series and realistic shooters. If you like unreal and the like, avoid this. It wont have mortar guns and hand held fusion generators at your disposal.

Summary: You like team play?
Review: This game played with a couple of your online friends using a voice program and some practice, you and your buddies will rule the net. If you are a Tom Clancy game fan you will love it. If you thought the older Clancy games were a little to complicated or hard to play, this game is making it easier for you run and gunners to enjoy it. I highly recommend this game when it hits the stores. If the demo is this good, I can not wait for the full release!

Summary: One of the BEST GAMES I have played.
Review: I currently only have the demo, and am eagerly awaiting the full version. The game is very realistic, and plays extremely well. Even on the demo there is a fairly large variety of weapons to choose from, including the assault rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, tons of different grenades, and amazing accessories like the heart sensor. In the full version, there is supposed to be tons more weapons, including shot guns! You can tell they went for realism, and it fits the gameplay extremely well. You first notice it when u fire a weapon. Generally, i like the most powerful guns, but not in this game because of its realism. I started off trying the m14, which has 100 out of 100 on damage, but i soon changed to the easier to use G36K, which is currently my favorite gun in the game, along with the mk23 pistol. The m14 acted like you would imagine a powerful gun would act. I fired off like 10 rounds in automatic mode, and ended up looking far away from where i was origionally aiming all the while when firing in automatic mode i could hardly aim, which then i realized how realistic the game seems to be. Now this might be a turn off to some people, and at first it was for me too. Origionally i liked games like Unreal tournament 2003 with the futuristic weapons, and aiming where it is always ends up hitting exactly where u aim, even while shooting and running. But after i played the demo for a few hours, I was hooked on realism in games. I liked the game so much, i even went out and bought Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon for xbox, which is also a good game. Even if realism isn't your thing, i still recomend u try out the demo from [website], and who knows, u might get hooked on realistic shooters just like i did.
The thing i also really like about this game over ghost recon, and other tom clancy games is that u can finally see your gun on the screen!

Summary: Raven Shield
Review: Its the most realistic 1st-person shooter.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: best game ever
Review: i have only played the demo but i love the game just last night i stayed up intill midnight playing the game.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It is going to be great.
Review: My rating is only a prediction based on magazines and beta versions but I think this game is going to be a hit. It uses the Unreal II engine to provide amazing graphics. You can see the wrinkles in their uniforms. Also the AI is improved significantly. Your teamates don't get their asses blown off anymore. The controls are a little simpler and the planning phase is also less complex. The sounds are very realistic because Red Storm got their hands on all the guns used in this game (except the fictional ones) and fired each one to record their actual sound. If you are into the Rainbow Six Series, or just enjoy blowing the stuffing out of terrorists--This game is a must.
