Summary: Pass - Stick to Ghost Recon
Review: Nothing really new. Looks fine, but expected more from all the hype.

Summary: If you buy one game this year...make it Raven Shield
Review: I've been a big fan of Rainbow Six ever since reading the book. Raven Shield had lot to live up to based on the amazing quality of the first two titles in the series. It has met all expectations and exceeded them. The unreal engine makes all the difference in this game. Sounds, sights, lighting, and weapon details are phenominal.

True, there's not a lot different to the basics of the game. As in the first title, you pick you team, equip them, plan your mission, and then execute. The difference is in how much the realism and detail has been increased. For example, you now have the ability to cuff tangos who give up the fight. Weapons can be given different modificatios. Weapon inventory is enhanced. And even though it may be petty...this is just a pretty game to watch. When I play a game I want to be immersed in it. I want to forget reality for a time and take on the role of someone else. Raven Shield delivers. Turn down the lights, turn up the volume, and you will become a counter-terrorist operative such as the world has never seen.

Summary: not as good as Rogue Spear/GR
Review: Ok, I've been a VERY addicted player of all the RS games + Ghost Recon. These are almost the only games I have played for years, and I have played them constantly. Since this is the sequel to Rogue Spear, here's a quick comparison. They basically rewrote everything, and left out features that were in Rogue Spear. The result is better graphics, but more of an arcade-style action game. Using strategy (creating plans) is not useful, because even on the easiest level your computer-controlled teammates...get shot constantly. They sometimes turn and stare at a wall or cleared area instead of where the threat is. After playing the first several maps, I've noticed a boring consistency-there are no interesting scripted actions carried out by enemies. Their AI stinks (although they will 'nade you pretty effectively). I'm still amazed that they'll run out bravely into the line of fire, walking over a huge pile of corpses only to join the pile shortly. The AI stinks equally for both "good guys" & "bad guys." I've read that some of the maps are used for more than one mission...You still can't really customize your weapons. You can only use one weapon accessory, as opposed to the REAL SOPMOD M4 which Spec Ops can configure however they wish. Ie. You can't put both a scope and C-MAG on an M4. No flashlights either. No option to use Aimpoints, Reflex scopes, or ACOG 4x scopes. You can't use both high-cap mags and a silencer on pistols (or rifles for that matter). There is still MUCH lacking in the way of realism.. IMHO its gotten worse since Rogue Spear. You can't shoot through chairs and other paper-thin objects. ALL doors make noise when you open them (easily heard by nearby people). Shooting a person in the foot 2 or 3 times will kill them. Computer-controlled snipers (teammates)-evidently don't believe in the "one shot one kill" creed. Characters can run around for hours with a machine gun held at ready position without ever getting tired. In summary, the game seems more geared towards arcade-style "spray and pray" gameplay and MP games (because the AI doesn't matter when all the players are human). It really annoys me that the game industry does this...they always dive for the better graphics/animation and rewrite stuff instead of IMPROVING existing code. There are very very few new features in RS3 that I've noticed, and I'm disappointed. I would have been much happier if they had reused the pre-gameplay (briefing, planning, etc) stuff from Rogue Spear, and ONLY focused on adding new features and improving gameplay. I should not have paid...for this. There are plenty of bugs. I would wait for a patch or two to come out, then pay less for the game. Or just play the MP demo, since the game...in SP mode anyway. All that said, the graphics/animation are pretty nice...

Summary: playa, wha?
Review: can someone who has actually played the game throw out a review? please?? no offense to anyone else, but i've seen too many games that gave the appearance of seriously owning in previews/screen shots, but turned out to be 10 lb of steaming dung in a 5 oz poop bag. thx!

Summary: Best Rainbow Six ever
Review: I don't have time to write a full-page review so I will tell you about the game quickly. The graphics are better then any Tom Clancy game I have ever played they are amazing. There are 15 single player missions and a whole bunch of multiplayer ones. You can have as many as eight soldiers on your team and as little as one. You can customize every thing on them from their camo to their weapons to there gear and body armor. Here are some of the weapons and items you can choose from
PISTOLS
-desert eagle .357cal
-USP.40cal
-Micro Uzi 9mm
-TMP 9mm
ASSAULT RIFLES
-M4 5.56mm
-FAMAS G2 5.56mm
-AK-47 7.62mm
-M16A2 5,56mm
GRENADES
-Smoke grenade
-frag grenade
-Tear Gas grenade
-Flash Bang
EQUIPMENT
-Night vision goggles
-Gas mask
-Suppresser
-IR scope
This is just a small amount of the weapons and equipment available to you. Your team is very smart and without your team you will fail. Your team can do a wide variety of things: they can snipe, go on recon, defuse bombs, open and clear rooms and they can follow waypoints. The terrorists are very smart too, so you'd better be up to the challenge. THIS IS THE BEST TACTICAL SHOOTER EVER, EVEN RAINBOW SIX HATERS WILL LIKE THIS GAME.

Summary: The Ultimate Close Quarter Battle Simulation
Review: This installment of Rainbow Six is by far the pinnacle of urban operations/CQB simulation. Having both been trained and taught Urban Operation tactics, techniques and procedures, I can say this simulation is spot on.

The graphics are top notch. From the details of the weapons, to the movements of the fire teams as they clear a room, no detail has been left out. The scenes within the buildings or moving through a snowy swiss town are breathtaking. You will find yourself peering cautiously around corners looking for any signs of an enemy. Footprints in the snow, breath condensation, and the clatter of spent round casing pinging off the floor only enhance the realism.

Tactically, this game is the best I have ever seen. Your fireteam pulls 360 security, when breaching doors, one man covers the door while the other primes the entry device. Flashbangs and tear gas incapitate accurately along with door breaching charges. Your sniper assumes an accurate posture while scanning for targets and, based on your orders, will engage as they present themselves.

I have played all the Rainbow Six series of simulations and this one, Raven Shield (based on the Full Version), is years ahead of the previous installments. Tactically and graphically, you will not be disappointed in this sim!

UPDATE: After playing the game for about 2 weeks now, everything above still stands for the single player mode. However, both his game and UBI are having serious issues trying to make the multi-player game work. Be forewarned that the multi-player portion of this game is having some major problems. Hopefully UBI steps up to the plate and fixes the issues.

God bless our troops.

Summary: Big Step Back
Review: With the Ghost Recon franchise, UBI Soft built a quality game with excellent interfaces, huge flexibility for multiplayer action, and an exciting new on-the-fly planning system that allowed players to create complex tactics they could adapt to the mission situation.

So what does UBI do for the next title? Remove all of these things.

Many faults include:
-A multiplayer map shortage.
-A return to the pre-mission waypointing system with no hope of adjusting the plan on the fly.

-Bizzare, counter-intuitively-designed interfaces.
-A complete lack of respawn-based play, (I know a significant group of players dislike respawns, but come on, it's an OPTION, not an imposition.)
-And a goofy regression to dopey "neo-fascism" instead of the people American gamers desperately want to ventilate.

On the plus side, however, the game's physical presence is superb.
-Weapons are plentiful, varied, customizable, and impressive to operate.
-Character models (A Red Storm signature) remain excellent.
-The rag-doll physics (which I grew to love in Hitman 2) may not have been neccessary, since Ghost Recon had excellent death animations, but they do work well, and handle concussive explosion deaths better than their pre-animated counterparts.

With some patches to add a respawn option, more maps (Which, I'm told, can be fan-made) this game could be a showstopper. As it stands now, it seems more like a missed opportunity.

Summary: Awesome
Review: I just bought this game and i love it already. The controls are very hard at first, but you get used to them. You really need to complete the training portion of this game to know how to do basic controls. The game is worth every penny and it is very fun to play.

Summary: Great Game, Must Buy
Review: This game is great. It is just as fun or maybe even better than the previous Tom Clancy games. This is a must buy for any Clancy game fans

Summary: Yeah
Review: ... there are 6 dedicated MP maps, that means they are on a server setup by the producer or ubi whatever, you will be able to use all 15 16 maps in multiplay, yeah it was very buggy but they got alot of it fixed I have not seen repeative textures or anything yet. I would say everyone should get this game that has played tactical shooters, I know the tactical shooters are the best specially this one, I have noticed over time in the mp demo that there is alot of good stuff on it, and the ladder bugs can be annoying but I played the SP demo and I have not seen 1 bug yet, Great game forsure
