Rating: Summary: Very good game - poor on remaining stable Review: As I have progressed through the game it has gotten more stable. In the beginning it crashed on start up - had to restart several times to get it to start. Then when saving - crash. Then on loading saves - crash. It doesn't crash your OS - just the game - thankfully. At level 6 it has gotten much better. The game does bog down and run slowly at times - my system is a 900mhz with 256 RAM - The game itself is intersting in that you don't have to be Rambo to get through a level - but you can. When you get done with a level it rates you - which can be humerous. On one level I killed everyone, just to not have to deal with any surprise attacks and it rated me "mass murderer". On another level I only killed 3 people and it rated me "professional". So, getting the target without killing many other people is the object to get a good rating. But some of the levels have snow - which is REAL difficult to shoot through. All in all - good game - but you'll have to do some work on the .ini file at www.eidos.com under support- to get it to work better plus there is already a patch available. When I loaded that it seemed to work a little better. Have fun and don't kill everybody!
Rating: Summary: Cool Game Review: Great Game. Great Graphics and Opinions. Fun and intersting. Get this game. Impressive!... Good job Eidos Interactive.

Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT GAME! Review: After reading so many reviews on this game, I have a few comments to make since I played BOTH the demo versions and the full game, and have both. Any intense 3d game is going to require that you have certain, and better yet, EXPECTED requirements, and that means good hardware to! Bugs 9 times out of 10 are coming from someone not having the proper computer setup, including a good video card, minimum 512 MB of video memory and minimum 1.2 GHz computer processor (and properly and continually maintaining it with good utility software even those that already come with WIN XP and using good virus software and firewall software if you use broadband high spped connections to the internet). I am happy to own the NVIDIA GeForce 4600 TI (from LeadTek), which is the BEST video card there is right now and runs ANYTHING! AND DOES IT 100 percent without flaw! All games depend on not only the programmer, but mainly YOU having the proper setup. I have run, installed and played ALL major 3d games including, but not limited to, MAX PAYNE, both SERIOUS SAM games, No One Lives Forever One AND TWO, Soldier of Fortune 2, UNREAL TOURNAMENT (all versions), HALF-LIFE (all versions), etc., etc and have NO problems to report!... NONE! So if I can do it, then it is not the problems with the games or even with the programmers. The problems lie solely with the person that uses the computer and sets it up, whether they have someone to do it or not. AND BY THE WAY, NO CONSOLE CAN TOUCH THE REPRODUCTION OF GAMES ON A PC THROUGH A PROPER SETUP USING A GOOD GRAPHICS BOARD:) I also find the AMD ATHLON XP processors to be hands down better and smoother than ALL Intel chips! IT IS A PROVEN FACT ON PAPER EVEN. I use ALL forms of PC Benchmarks software from Mad Onion and I have excellent reports. I hope this helps clear up some misguided reports and quirks with some people. No offenses intended or meant. Ernie
Rating: Summary: This game has it all... Review: The graphics and music in this game are spectacular. I like that realism of the shot placement too. Having played the first version of this game, I think that EIDOS has come a long way. To those of you who haven't played either version of this series, this is a shooter that requires a LITTLE BIT of skill(You notice I said a little bit). You can't just run in and start shooting. If you do, your game will be over quickly. Now, on the tech side, there are a few issues with this game that myself and many other people have come across. It seems kind of hit and miss for these problems. There are many bulletin boards out there that have tweaks to help with these problems. My problem was resolved by simpling upgrading my video card drivers(Haven't had time to update drivers lately). I also suggest downloading AM:3D DieselPower. This is a free download specifically for this game.... I found it to boost the sound quality quite a bit. I played the game in both EAX mode and DieselPower mode and preferred the DieselPower mode, but that's just my opinion. Really, the only thing that kept me from giving this game a 5 star rating is the technical problems with the game.
Rating: Summary: Excellent new game Review: This is an excellent game that is very realistic and with really cool graphics, story line, and weapons. Definitely recommended.
Rating: Summary: Big WOW Review: I haven't played the first Hitman, but am very impressed with this game. I'm a huge shooter game fan (Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix is another great game in this category), and was a little rusty on not killing everybody (haven't had to be stealthy since Thief 2). Even after you get the hang of staying hidden, this game is very challenging. I don't recommend it for somebody looking for a game to relieve stress and blow people away. However, if you want an addictive, challenging game that tests your gaming skills, this is a must buy.
Rating: Summary: epitome of culutural insensitivity Review: The Sikh community is appalled by images and text in the sniper-themed videogame "Hitman 2" portraying Sikhs being killed within their most prominent temple, the Harimander Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple. Eidos 's choice to target a specific religious group in Hitman 2 is not only socially irresponsible, but also potentially dangerous to Sikhs worldwide, as their turbans have made them the focus of backlash attacks in the post-September 11th environment. By focusing on a religious minority and setting the violence in their sacred shrine, Hitman 2 mindlessly encourages racial and religious prejudice. I cannot allow videogame developers to use sacred religious settings to promote killings and intolerance. This game is an embarrassment to the entertainment industry-- DO NOT BUY
Rating: Summary: first impressions Review: i haven't been playing this game long, so my opinion is subject to change, but so far i think it's got some really cool ideas. i would recommend that people looking for a fast paced action game should stay away from Hitman 2. Sure, you CAN go into a situation guns blazing, Doom style.. but you won't last very long. So far, i've been dreading any time in this game where it even LOOKS like i may have to use force against someone. because i know that many guards will follow. However.. stealth isn't at all easy to maintain. i think every guard in the game was secretly handed a picture of you without you knowing it, because no matter how careful you are.. no matter what disguise you have, they will instantly recognise you. In fact, i haven't noticed too much of a change in wearing a disguise vs. not wearing one.. almost all of them instantly make you as a foe. this is frustrating, and it makes the game very very difficult. but it's also a big part of the game's charm. it makes you think of better methods of accomplishing your goal. a lot of talk in these reviews is about the save-games. i never played the first Hitman, but i don't think it's a good idea to use the save games in this one. one wrong move can cost you the mission, and you may not even know it until a few minutes later. i say it's best to play the missions straight through without saving. the game will auto-save in between missions. all in all, i'd say this game rocks, and if you like games like Deus Ex and Thief, or if you want to try a different kind of shooter, then i'd say this is a good purchase. the only thing keeping this from getting the full 5 stars is the overly intelligent A.I. it would be nice to sneak by at least one or two people effectively.. but on the other hand.. that facet of the game alone might knock the replay value up a few points.. just to see if you can get your stealth score higher than last time.
Rating: Summary: Fell short of my expectations Review: I never played the original "Hitman" because it had no in-level save function, but I was eagerly awaiting the release of "Hitman 2". It definitely takes a leap forward as far as being the "thinking man's shooter, and it has a handful of levels that are so good, they make the game worth buying. This game falls short in a few crucial areas though. The AI for this game is extremely tough, and the best I have ever seen. Not when it comes to firefights, but when it comes to remaining undetected. Doing anything suspicious while you are disguised will almost certainly get you caught. The AI is so sophisticated, that you will arouse suspicion if you carry an unusual weapon. For instance, if the guards in the area normally carry AK-47's, and you're carrying a sniper rifle, you're going to get attacked. For the most part, the graphics and animation for this game are great, as well as the music. The voice acting is great. "Agent 47" is simply a great main character for a video game. He's like Garrett, from "Thief", except he's big and bald. The graphics are so detailed, that you can look at shadows on the wall to see what weapon you are carrying. Some of the environments look astonishing, like a snowy mountain valley at night, and a penthouse apartment overlooking the big city. There are some truly fantastic levels in this game. These are the parts that exceed the game's lofty expectations. This is the only game where you can sneak past 25 guards and kill your "mark" without firing a shot, and then sneak out. In this game you can pose as a flower delivery man, a doctor, a Russian soldier, a bodyguard, a patient, a pizza delivery boy - the list is endless. The variety for completing these levels is also endless. You can frequently find circuit breakers and shut all the lights off, and in one level, you can start a false fire alarm to distract everyone. Using lots of stealth requires immeasurable patience (not to mention tolerance for reloading your saved games), but it's worth it. I love that feeling of devious satisfaction that you get from nonchalantly walking out of a building past the clueless guards (right after whacking their boss). The "professional" kill is a feeling that no other game has. Unfortunately, every time that I was ready to fall in love with this game, it would throw out a stupid and poorly designed "commando" level that spoils the "Hitman" theme. There are some really bad levels in this game that appear to be in there just as filler. They generally involve the "boss" being so well-guarded that the only way to complete the level is by gunning down everything in sight. There is one level where you have to kill a guy who is guarded by four thugs in the room, and then plant something on his body. The only way to finish the level is by killing all of them. This ends up being absurdly easy, since your "hitman" can take more bullets than a tank. There is another level where you have to avoid a bunch of snipers who can somehow see through your disguise from 1,000 feet away. Thus, these bad levels are impossible using stealth, and way too easy using aggression. It's poor level design. The storyline for the game is weak. It's too bad, because the game could have been better if it had an exotic plot to match all of the exotic locations that you go to. "Deus Ex" and "No One Lives Forever" succeeded at this, but this game fails. The interface and the controls generally stink. It's probably due to this game being a multi-platform game, instead of just a PC game. The camera is very unresponsive to the mouse, unless you crank the mouse sensitivity up to the highest setting. When you do this, it makes the menus almost unusable, because of the hypersensitive mouse. The mapping function is mediocre and underdeveloped. The maps look bland and ugly, like something you would have seen in a game made five years ago. This game sorely needs a mini-map, but as-is, there is only a map screen. When you look at the map, you must remain stationary, but your enemies continue to move. This becomes annoying when you are trying to plot a path to avoid the guards. Should you buy this? If you are a huge fan of the first "Hitman", or if you enjoy thinking man's action games like "Thief" and "Deus Ex", then you will enjoy this game. It still gives you an experience that no other game can give you. The great levels in the game make it worth playing through its faults.
