Rating: Summary: A great game Review: I love this game... I'm a great fan of Hitman and I love the game. I think it's well thought-out, original, has has fairly good graphics compared to the system requierements. I own it, I've played it over and over, I've beaten it, and I can't wait 'til the next one comes out (vague rumors are indicating 2005). If you like to play stealth, or if you like challenges, play this!
Rating: Summary: some bad flaws but otherwise good Review: When i first got Hitman 2 i was expecting a realistic 1st and 3rd person tactical/shooter. I was dissapointed when i found that you(47) could take about 25 shots from a 9mm pistol and not die. Also if the AI had an automatic gun they would shoot it like was a pistol. They would never switch to rock-and-roll mode and shoot at you. When you shot a 3 round burst from the m4 at an AI player's foot they would still be able to fight too. I was dissapointed with the unrealistic way the guns handled. The first person view was also a failure in my point of view. The perspective was way off. All the guns were too small in first person. I only play with 3rd person view. Other than all that, the graphics are great, The AI smart, the missions good, and the variety of weapons good.
Rating: Summary: engrossing Review: I never played the first HITMAN, although many friends liked it a lot. So I picked up this a few weeks ago. So far I am an addict. The slow pace of it may put some gamers off - you don't run in blazing away a la DUKE NUKEM (buy DELTA FORCE: BLACK HAWK DOWN if you want to pour hot lead). The scenery is beautiful. The point in mission 2 when 47 emerges from the sewer into downtown St. Petersburg made me gasp. But of course it's very violent. Missions have a similarity to them. Choose your weapons, sneak in somewhere, kill your target, and get out without raising attention. Hiding, crouching, dragging dead bodies, etc are all part of the game if you want to survive. This game gives you the satisfaction of walking away, as if nothing happened, from a perfectly carried-out killing. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: Better than Splinter Cell (sorry) Review: Hitman 2 is a real cross between the aesthetics of Splinter cell and the atmosphere and design of Theif 2. in Splinter Cell there are many pre-scrpited moments that try to create times of tension and fail miserably. Hitman suffers from none of this. the biggest difference from Splinter is that you can disguise yourself as various employees of big bosses. You can then pass by various guards/undercover guys unoticed as long as you walk calmly and don't attract their attention. This creates fantastic tension and is on a par with Theif (almost). Graphics are superb and sound also. Also the map is big, big help providing you with the power to plan your attack or getaway. All in all Hitman 2 delivers the stealth of Thief (without the medieval backdrop) and the graphics (nearly) of Splinter cell. I would recommend you play this before SC and it should be cheaper now!!!
Rating: Summary: Baldie strikes again. Review: Hitman 2 is a fun game offering creative missions with multiple pathways to reach your goals. Although I enjoy a challening game, at times unless I sat back and really surveyed the entire level ahead of time, I found myself in perpetual reload. Agent 47 looks a little goofy when he creeps, which is distracting.Pros: Great graphics. Lots of room for variety in your game play. Challenging. Cons: Annoying controls. No quick rotation. I can't tell you how many times I ran 47 into walls and couldn't rotate him away fast enough. Buy it, play it, and enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: One of the best games ever Review: After playing all the levels i decided to write a review of this game. From what i can see this game can not be matched. An amazing storyline beautiful scenery and nice locations. it is a great break from mindless "kill them all games". To add to it is an extremely profound ending which really wants you to look forward to a sequel. Its great the way that you can go back to your shed and test your new weapons on birds, sheep ect. Overall i would say this game is amazing exept for 2 flaws. 1. NOT LONG ENOUGH, I BEAT THE WHOLE THING IN A WEEK END 2. THE GAMES DESIGNERS ARE GOING TO HAVE A HELL OF A TIME MAKING A SEQUAL TO BEAT THIS. i really hope that they do make a sequal. and can you really shoot guns out of peoples hands. it says so in the strategey guide. it also says you can shoot through doors.
Rating: Summary: Like father, like son... Hitman 1, Hitman 2... Review: Not much difference in this game from the original. Had some difficulty with the controls, especially switching weapons... The original was a nightmare... Hitman 47 and IGI were both nightmares! I kept playing them until I couldn't stand it anymore... The controls were terrible and I still see some problems with it in this game... The game is interesting and it's definitely fun to blow somebody away, but the controls are still a bit awkward... I'm on the fence with this one folks...You might find it a lot of fun and manage to work the controls better than me. EADOS needs to do some work on this game before it's really top notch... It has the makings of an excellent game with some deficiencies...primarily contols... The demo didn't allow me to save either, n'or did the first Hitman game. Like IGI, EADOS was supposed to have addressed that issue in the new game...
Rating: Summary: Tried but failed Review: I bought this game because it had an interesting premise. I was very intrigued at the notion of an action game where the goal is not to kill as many people as possible, but to achieve an objective without anyone knowing you were even there. Great idea. Unfortunately, the result is not so pleasant. For starters, it is very nearly impossible to complete the missions in the manner the game suggests--quietly, without much unnecessary bloodshed. As an example (and without giving too much away) there is a mission with the objective of sniping a Russian bigwig through the window. You are dropped off at the subway nearby and have to navigate through roadblocks and patrolling guards to set up your kill point in a nearby apartment. Cool idea, right? Expect the sniper gun is stashed in a locker in the bloody subway. That's right. In the middle of the afternoon, in a crowded city subway station. How do you nonchalantly carry a four-foot sniper rifle through downtown St. Petersburg, and not alert any civilians or the dozen or so guards patrolling the neighborhood? Oh, that's right, you can't. Why didn't the shadowy ops who left your gear in the subway not simply leave them in the apartment? Oh, that's right, because its a game and you need an unrealistic challenge. So you're left with two options: blasting your way through every guard post you find, then setting up for your 'stealthy' kill from afar, or leaving the rifle in the locker and attempting the equally ridiculous feat of sniping the Russian with your handgun. Utterly ridiculous. And let me remind you, before you simply write this off as someone who doesn't want a challenge in the game: this is your FIRST mission. There is zero margin for error. Where's the learning curve? Am I the only one who did not buy the first Hitman? In yet another level, you are expected to choose your kill point from several different areas, then set it up. The only problem is that you have no time to case the neighborhood, because the target is only in area for a few minutes. You have nothing to go on but a cumbersome map interface and some incredibly vague instructions from your employer. You can't even jump over curbs or low (2 feet high) walls. This is realism? Amazingly, despite these glaring discrepancies, this game was touted by its producers--and hailed by consumers--as realistic. Only in today's video-game driven culture would this in any way be considered realistic. If the targets were really this hard and they absolutely needed to be taken out (to the tune of a six-figure fee), why wouldn't they just be strafed by a gunship? Just as stealthy and probably cheaper. If you like slow, tense FPS' with a lot of atmosphere, than you may like this one. But if incessant replays and unrealistic challenges frustrate you, skip this game.
Rating: Summary: Splinter Cell + NOLF 2 = Hitman 2 Review: GREAT GAME! Overall score: 8 Graphics score: 9 Audio score: 8 Storyline score: 10 Game play score: 8.5 Replayvalue score: 7.0 GET IT!!!!!(powerful computer recommended)
Rating: Summary: Excellent game! Review: This game should be game of the year for 2002, the graphics are supurb, the music is well done, I wish they would come out with the sound track for this game, and gameplay is awesome. This game is suppose to have got some bad reviews because some people deem the content objectionable, well, being and American of Italian decent, (who are depicted as Mobsters in the game) I still think the game rocks! It is just a game and people that get all bent out of shape over the way people are depicted in the game should just not buy it. I would get this game over Max Payne and Grand theft auto, is is better than both. My favorite is the improvements that were made in the game, one of which is the gameplay itself, you can now save the games, which could not be done in Hitman 1. I can't wait for Hitman 3. I would give it 10 stars if I could have!
