Rating: Summary: Best Futuristic Combat Game Review: Halo: Combat Evolved is the best game you can get for PC and XBOX. Halo's graphics and sound quality are one of-a-kind, state-of-the-art precision. The game story line is excelent. This game is rated 5 out of 5.
Rating: Summary: One HALO of a good time..... Review: O.k., in a nutshell, this game is similar to 'Command and Conquer- Renegade' in many ways. The colors used and the shading used feels almost precisely like it was inspired by Renegade. Even the structures and the graphic 'smoothing' of the edges of most objects. Musically, it's just silly. The music sounds just plain cheap. While there are moments of suspense that the music truly delivers on, most of the time, it's not even worth listening to. As far as overall length, this game has got it. Absolutely huge game levels, and there are PLENTY of them. Surprising for a 1.4 gig game. It all fits on one cd before installation. I actually played this on a duron system with 1 gig PC 133 ram and a geforce 4 4800 video card, and it ran very well. I have heard complaints about a lagging mouse. I have that a little on my duron, but when i switched to my ALIENWARE system with the ATHLON XP the problem went away. I can only assume, for that, that maybe the processor speed is affecting the mouse. SPOILER ALERT *** SPOILER ALEET *** Quite a ways into the game the 'bad guys' turn into the 'not-so-bad guys' , yet you still have to slaughter them mindlessly. Then they become human-like and at that point you just feel sorry for thier deformed painful existance. I know it's just a game, but why must you continue killing those guys after you find out that all they were ever doing was defending themselves. Just a gripe on something i did not like in the game. Lastly, just after you discover their secret, you better have plenty of ammo and patience. The game, for a short time, becomes almost impossible. Extremely hard. Overall, while the game seems lacking for the first few hours of play,it does, much like Jedi Knight 2 did, pick up to a much more interesting pace and offer up some excelent environments later in the game. Look at the first few levels as training levels. Use them as that, you'll need them later. Trust me.
Rating: Summary: Just Like the X-Box (actually, better) Review: The game play is just like that of the X-Box as I've played both many times, but I enjoy the PC version more as it is more customizeable and I have the choice of a keyboard control or using a XBox controller (which works great - see ebay). I'm not a hard core PC gamer, but if you're looking for a fun, first-person action game - this one rocks. (Yes, the technology might be a bit outdated - but a classic game is a classic for a reason).
Rating: Summary: Good game-bad port Review: I'm not saying this is a bad game by any means-just look at the rave reviews it got. However, gearbox (the developer) did a poor job bring this over to the pc. Ignore the game requirements, this game only runs on some systems well. I have 2 computers in my possesion, a 3.06 with a 9700 pro and a 2.8 (laptop) with a geforcefx mobile- it runs amazing on my desktop, but it barely runs at all on the laptop. How such a small difference in system specs (on systems very capable accordign to the minimum specs) can there be such a drastic performance drop? I'm not sure myself, if you have a chance I'd suggest downloading the demo availible for it and see how it runs on your system before putting your hard earned money in a game that has a 50% chance of running.
Rating: Summary: Halo Rules Review: Halo is an awesome game, one of the best games i ever played on the planet. buy it if u can.
Rating: Summary: No Halo, just Horns for the PC Review: I just can't get excited about this game. Outdated, unintertesting and a lag in the mouse that I just couldn't seem to get rid of. Even handing this one off to a friend didn't win it anymore stars with more complaints of mouse problems and boring play. Skip this one, get something without the dated graphics and boring play.
Rating: Summary: Can't get much better Review: Halo on PC. Beats Xbox Halo any day!The missions are the same as the xbox version. The controls are WAY better and much easier on PC. I praise Microsoft for making Halo. If you like FPS games, insane graphics and wide selections of weapons, this is for you! trust me. Think it's to easy? try a harder difficulty, there is bound to be one that challenges you!. Multiplayer Halo, Oh boy! it's to die for my friends. Vehicals-ground and air, weapons of all kinds, plus a few new ones. Costumizable settings...WHOA! The absolute works! My only complaint is that the game on both PC and Xbox is rather linear, I mean there is only one way/path through the game. Except for a few missions which are maze like. GO HALO!
Rating: Summary: Cool Man Review: This game is sooooooooo cool, the game is over very quickly though so don't buy it unless you plan on getting it for multiplayer purposes.
Rating: Summary: Halo: on pc very average Review: not as good as xbox but its still a fair game. but dont go out and buy it on pc go buy an xbox instead you will get more for your money.
Rating: Summary: mmmmm... Review: This game was an XBox classic. the transformation to computer leaves some to be desitrd. the missions are GREAT, but the main reason many people bought it was to play multiplayer online, as the original Halo only supported direct lan hookups, and no XBL. the multiplayer DEFINITLEY needs teamspeak, or an equivilent option. you just cant afford to stand still and type a message and risk being shot in the head. that is my main objection, but also the gameplay over the internet is somewhat reduced by the TREMENDOUS LAGGGGGG! I might be bias, because i live in alaska, but it seems that way to me.
