Rating: Summary: Pyromaniac's Paradise Review: This game is just, just so awesome because it appeals to my obsession, lighting things on fire. Yes, The new arsenal of weapons (which is a LEAP over #3) makes this game just so amazingly addicting. Yeah, so ya hear people dying, and blood flows like in Mortal Kombat, but what makes this game so "rad" is that it let's the truly disturbed gamers, like myself, to act out our inner most desires. For example, I come home in a bad mood, load up the game, run over a few people, light some cars on fire, blow stuff up with the Apache helecopter, I feel right as rain. I could leap for joy. For those who think, "Yeah, but is it good for little 8 year old Timmy?" The answer to that is: NO! YOU HEAR ME? NO! This game is exteamly graphic and violent which is why it is labled 17+. I am not quite there yet, but I have been disturbed for a while now so do NOT give it to young children or let them even be in the same room. But other than that. KICK ASS! Yours Truely, YeezPunk
Rating: Summary: Addictive and fun Review: After playing GTA2 and GTA3, I decided to buy GTA: Vice City. The gameplay feels the same as GTA3, but there are a few minor improvements. Many of the things I didn't like in GTA3 are still in Vice City (such as ability to start running after shooting a gun: you must wait a second or two, which is enough time to get slugged by a cop and get busted). Tommy still can't swim (actually, nobody in town can swim), so avoid water. You can ride motorcycles and fly helicopters (can be hard to control, but fun to jump out of in mid-air), but I wish there were more minor improvements, especially real physics like Half-Life 2. Some bushes are 2D and almost non-existant, while other bushes are harder than concrete. Like Paul McGrath stated in his review, Vice City is a "first-person shooter, racing, real-time strategy, arcade, and to a smaller degree, even role-playing." This game has almost everything and can please most people. It has fast cars, chics in bikinis and strip clubs, disgruntled cops, taxi and ambulance driving/missions, bombs, motorcyle and boat racing, helicopters, prostitution, disguising as a cop, pyro, sniping, high-speed chasing, protecting friends, running down stairs in your mansion, yelling at people, hijacking cars, being two-faced between gangs, fist fights, and more! The town is much bigger and fun to cruise. The AI is a bit stupid at times and act like zombies, but no biggie. Cars tend to disappear when you turn your back on them (if you see a car you love driving away from you, and you turn 360-degrees, it most likely will disappear). Game play is quite smooth (I'm using 1 GHz Athlon XP, 768 MB RAM, 64 MB GeForce4). You can go inside many buildings (and even buy some of them to generate revenue). If you fail a mission, you must go back to the guy that gives you the mission, then drive where he tells you to drive. It takes a long time to do this, and it gets tedious if you're on a hard mission. To save, you must drive to a specific building, walk inside, and save; there is no QuickSave feature. If you die or get arrested, you lose a little bit of money, and you must re-buy all of your weapons. Realistic, but it takes a long time to do. The missions are very fun, nonetheless. The storyplot is great! The voilence is excellent, although Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix is much more realistic. Lots of blood, bone crunching, screaming, etc. The rating is Mature (ages 17+, although many people 35+ don't appreciate it). The radio/music is great. I remember many of these songs, too (like Sunglasses At Night). If you have MP3 files, you can use them as a radio station. It doesn't come with built-in multiplayer, but you can download unofficial add-ons that work. I played multiplayer with my friend on our LAN/network, and it worked smoothly. There's also no mod tools included. Overall, this is the funnest and most accictive game I have ever played. On a typical Satuday, I can play it almost 10 hours straight without becoming nautious. Because of the features that are missing and the minor, tedious bugs, I give GTA: Vice City a 9.5 out of 10!
Rating: Summary: Worth it Review: Actually better then the PC version. With a memory hack (aka trainer) you could have no cops mode, or unlimted health, and stuff like that. And you can customize the radio with mp3s off your comp which you can play while riding in a car! BUY IT!
Rating: Summary: Vice City kicks GTA 3 in the pants Review: I played GTA3 and thought this is a great game nothing is better for a port with improved graphics on PC from PS2 and open ended gameplay until Vice City came along... It has extremely good grapghics, Vice City is almost twice the size of Liberty City, there is lots to do even after beating the missions or not even starting the missions. There voice acting is awsome and new weapons and new vehicles makes it better. You can touch water and not drown. You can buy places so if you're parents are around they don't catch you in the "innapropiate" parts of the game.(i.e. the strip club even though thats only one building) This game is for more mature gamers with its coarse language and brutal realistic violence(another example: headshots are as bloody as hell), but sometimes controversy is better! There are some frustrating missions and there is some graphical issues if you don't have at least a 64MB videocard or higher. One more thing, the sound, graphics, gameplay, and the high replayability make this game a must buy, more liklier though if you're a bit older and have the right hardware...
Rating: Summary: Welcome to Vice City!! Review: Talking about a excellent, long game GTA:Vice City breaks all expectations giving you the best game ever. You are Tommy Vercetti a maf guy that was busted 15 years ago by Sonny, the boss, now Tommy gets out and Sonny puts him in a busisnes, but Sonny sets him up and now we have to find the "merchandise" and the cash. The graphics are really great, the old 80 songs, a good story and lots of hours or even days or weeks or MONTHS of playng gives you the idea that you really got a really good game. Talking about the needs...., you will need a good computer to make this game go in a aceptable speed because a friend had a bad computer, bought it and it worked very bad.... This was a great experience, the 80 and the early miami, the crime and all that fun and laughs from tommy that is quite serious. NOTE: This game is For TEEN, some bocabulary or sceenes are quite "for grown ups" and not for childs, so keep that in mind. Really this game is one of a kind and is a MUST for people that like action, shooting, adventure, driving and for who ever wants to bring back the 80
Rating: Summary: Sadly not great Review: Well I've just got GTA Vice city after it being so highly recommended....and I'm not blown away. There are some good aspects to this game. The '80s setting is great allowing for the use of some great tunes to choose from while driving : ) Also, as a "child of the '80s" I think Rockstar did a great job of capturing the mood and feel of the era. It really does feel like an episode of "Miami Vice" or classic movies such as "Scarface". Another bonus is the addition of good voice talent from some very respected actors. This adds a nice toutch to the essence of the game I feel. Additionally, having not played GTA III, I was very impressed with the new perspective and usse of camera angles in GTA:VC definately a HUGE improvement over the first 2 installments in every respect. However, where I feel the game ultimately falls down is in it's gameplay. While I found the game reasonably easy to "pick up and play" I soon found the gameplay to be a bit on the tough side, frequently having to restart whole missions because of a minor mistake,a difficulty setting would have made all the difference here. Also it seems, unlike GTA 1 and 2, you can't take on new jobs to get money etc if you find a particular mission tough going - BIG MISTAKE in my book. I also found the graphics to be rather poor considering the recent release of the game on the PC with only the lighting and the framerate being anywhere near impressive, Another missed opportunity I feel. It does seem a shame that a game that is generally so highly recommended has been such a let down and while I may pick it up now and again in future I doubt I'll be playing it for long
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: A game with great graphics and the ability to live your darkest dreams will make any gamer buy this game. a definate 5 star game that anyone will enjoy to play
Rating: Summary: this game is superb Review: Hi i would like to address those who gave this game less than 5 star. I have a P-3, 256 ram and no graphics card, but still it runs like dream in my computer. There is so much to do in this game, you can drive, perform mission, act as a cop, fire fighter, hospital staff drive a cab. you cant just get bored of this game. But only prob with the game is flying a heli it is very tough to fly one. But it is fun to blow off cars people, cops. there are some beau stunts that can be done by bike. However I was unable to have sex with the horr as mentioned in the other reviews, if any one knows the tip please feel free to e-mail me at my address. And after buying the pole postion club it is very boring to wait for the $600 bill. anyone having some tips for this game please feel free to email me, I will be delighted to get any response. Bye.... I got some serious business to do with Mr. Versetti in Vice City.
Rating: Summary: One word: Limitless Gameplay! Review: That pretty much summarizes this latest edition to the GTA family. Just like all other siblings in the GTA family, Vice City has that trademark-----Limitless Gameplay(make that 2 words). So to cut things short, I have read enough reviews about this game, and to those who gave anything below 5 stars for this game, (not that i work for rockstar or anything), perhaps it's time you take a pause from gaming and lock up your PC, and go take up golf or yoga instead. Really, I am serious. I would love to write more, But i just remembered that I had to go take on some bad guys with Tommy---so i leave you all with a point to ponder- What do you get if you mix a bit of Max Payne, Need for Speed and Flight Simulator----the answer: GTA: Vice City Only this time WAY BETTER than any of those! Till next time......
