Review: Um, let me start out by saying... wow. This game is terrible... in the beginning, but for some reason, the thrill of getting a decent record looms before you. Before you know it, youve been playing the same thing over and over again for 5 hours. Then, before you know it, youve been playing the same thing over and over again for 1 year. I cant begin to explain the effect this game has had on me... I simply could not stop playing. If you have a *whole* lot of time on your hands, then buy this game. Incredible graphics, gameplay, sound, and THRILLS! Make friends from around the world, compete in worldwide tournaments, and even play 1 vs 1 against your friends from school. Either way you do it, this game will leave you yearning for more.

Summary: Greatest game of my life
Review: Dont even bother reading about other games, or upcoming games. CS is it. The pinacle of online gaming. Granted Im a gun freak...but this is the peak of gaming enjoyment. CS will never ever get old, and if your psycho about every aspect of a game..then Cs will allow you to change anything...from gun models(there are people who make models that have literally 10 times as much detail as the default ones) and you can replace sounds,and then theres the voice communication...I could go on for days. But my point is CS will never ever get old to me. Every round is different, no game is ever the same. And it being the number 1 online game worldwide helps its status. I want "Counterstrike was his life" written on my tombstone.

Review: This is a awsome game! But you dont have to spend the money to buy this game jus get it downlode it off online! All you need to do is buy halflife and download this! You can also download other great half-life games like day-ofdefeat ( dod) and Team Fortress. I think Counter-Strike is the best but it's al good.....

Summary: Sketchy at least: Can we say "HACKERS?"
Review: Don't buy this if your just going to play counter-strike. you can download it for cheap/free. if your buying this, it means your connection is slow. If your connection is slow, YOU ARE GOING to get slaughtered in multiplayer. even cable modems are slow. 56 or 28k modems are not going to stand a chance in the game. you need minimal DSL, preferably dual cable lines, or a T1. If you don't have the connection to download it, your not gonna survive in the game.That's just the connection speed. Contrary to belief, Counter-strike (CS) is FULL of hackers. people use external programs to change things for them in the game. they have hacks that let them see where you are, shoot through walls, auto-aim hacks that aim for the head. No flashbag or smoke hacks, so special weapons that are meant to stun/confuse you have no effect. there are also no damage hacks/scripts which make people INVICIBLE. you CANNOT kill them. these hacks also make it possible to fall 40+ feet and take no damage. there are also weapons hacks. They can make a shotgun get a headshot at 400+ meters aganist a full health, fully armored opponent. it's totally not cool. They can shoot through brick walls with berettas and get HEADSHOTS. they can even use these hacks to get jumping headshots with sniper rifles. the online CS serveres are full of hackers. there's a new hack whicha allows players to run extremely fast, essentially you can be in their spawn point in seconds on the game starting. Meaning you, if your new, haven't bought weapons are are almost totally defensless. There's not much you can do, even the server moderators use hacks occasionally. Now the other players. there are alot of players with no respect for anyone. they will kill you to get your weapon if your on the same team. they'll finish off the guy you've been stalking because they want a kill. they'll just shoot you if they're feeling mad/angry/sad. there's alot of uncool people outthere. New players, beware, there are alot of older (2 or more years of CS) out there with fast connections and good vid cards. they will own you. There are even a few with T1s, Gforce 4 128ddr, with 2+ hacks and are better than 95% of the players WITHOUT hacks. they're extremely hard to get rid of if your new. they also memorize the maps and camping points. Campers: alot of servers don't have scripts that stop campers (they damage you until you move) . alot of players simply wait in camping spot and wait. it's boring and a form of cheating. The game is NOT realistic. you can get shot in the foot and still run at normal speed. you can shoot a AWP (sniper rifle) while climbing a ladder. how, i don't know. you can open doors and still shoulder rifles at the same time. you can fall 20 feet and still run. the game is far from realistic. there are barely any weather conditions and no gravity. the weapons are cool, sorta realistic. the terran is ok...graphics are good, online with exception of hackers/cheaters/riggers is good. the game is overall good, but it's been abused beyond belief. beware. Not everyone is bad, but there's enough of them to ruin the game for you. beware.

Summary: The Best of the Best
Review: This game brings out the best gamers of many regions. A must-have for any die-hard gamer, but make sure to have a broadband connection or you will be left in the dust. However, it also brings out some of the best hackers who have various cheats, as well as people who are so good that it seems like they may be cheating. Needless to say, it is a game of a lot of trash-talking and teamwork, but in the end it all comes down to your kill:Death ratio.

Summary: Defeat your enemies with skill, cunning, and strats
Review: I've played a lot of online first-person shooter games, and can honestly say that Counterstrike tops them all. It's just the right combination of strategy, thinking on your feet, learning to master the weapons/controls of the game, and teamplay. One of my favorite features is the voice communication with your teammates. If you have a decent sound card (full duplex to be more specific), you can speak to your teammates through your microphone. This makes for stronger teamplay, as you alert your teammates to an enemy's whereabouts or call for backup. This adds to the realism of the game -- it really makes you feel like you're part of an elite military team like the Seals, infiltrating an enemy compound. The game never seems to get old, thanks to a strong community and an open API for writing maps. New maps pop up all the time, and the game will automatically download them from servers when they come up. There are even several online leagues where "clans" compete for glory and even cash prizes. Counterstrike is paving the way for a new generation of athlete -- the cyber-athlete!

Summary: Awesome Game!
Review: Very good game! Counterstrike is, without a doubt, Sierra's best work! Whether you are a serious hardcore first person gamer, or just like to mess around shooting chickens in Italy, this is a great game. You get the choice of being a terrorist or a counter-terrorist, both sides have their ups and downs. All in all, I strongly recommend counterstrike for any person with Half-Life and a computer.

Summary: Good Game, Poorly Debugged At Any Rate
Review: I must say Counter-Strike on its own is great, and this game is superb. Weapons are modeled closely to the real ones, and while some do have differences, I'm not one to complain. The Visuals are surprisingly splendid, and the variety of multiplayer levels is great. Sound effects are excellent, and while there really isn't much music, that's really okay. However...Sierra didn't take much time worrying about debugging, this thing. It crashed constantly, sometimes in the middle of a game, othertimes while connection to a server, or while playing, or when you're at the main menu. Another problem, regardless of how high your specs are above the minimum requirements, you can still suffer from severe Latency (or lag) problems. The lag can be crippling for deciding the outcome of the game too. For instance, one can actually "lag out" and as long as they keep clicking keys to move, they will not move fluently through the level, rather their body will simply jump to locations so as to keep up. Anyone every try hitting a target that can simply appear and disappear? Not easy. Then we come to another flaw. You need the patch downloaded to run the game, and Counter-Strike.net only links you to sites that have it. Most will be page cannot be displayed, or be in some foreign language. Of the ones that you can actually download from, the rates are very low, and considering the patch is 150 meg (approximately) on a slow bandwith it take quite some time. Cheaters are another problem altogether. True, you can enter games with hack prevention, but there are times when all of those servers will be full, or unable to load. Not everyone cheats, but the kinds of cheats there are available are staggering. Instant head shot, no matter where you shot, see through walls, another that has enemy players name appear over there heads. That about does it, this game is full of errors, latency problems, hackers, and more besides, but if you can overlook that, there is a great online game inside. I suggest trying it out first.

Review: this game is the best game out so far besides nolf 2. there are lotsa mods and maps and [stuff] out there for this game. you can use many guns, including- an AK-47, M4A1, benelli 12 gauge, CT 180 i think and alot more. so if you dont already have this game, ... then GET IT NOW.

Review: hello this game i have not playd i will be playing this soon i heard it was great free of download yes but what about virus bugs errors not good buying it for ... saves you from all that its a great game to have if your a fps nut i am a expert at these games and i will have to say i dont like unreal tournament its great mutlplayer action but theres realy nothing good for it say mods,skins,weapons and the main missions are [substandard] it does not even have a story line but counter strike is based on killing and shooting those that are evil will thats all i have to say
