Summary: Good but is it good enough?
Review: Well, first off if you've played any other shoot 'em up, you'll probabally be no stranger to CS, you'll probably get used to the system quite easily.
Counter Strike is a game I like to play every Saturday with my friends down at a Internet Cafe. It's extremely good fun playing with your friends (and killing them) however, there are just some things about CS that I do not like.Fact is, once you're dead...you're dead, you have to wait for the next game to come back alive. Also, they've included real guns in the game, however they've used fake names for them, for example in the real world there is a weapon called the H&K MP5, but in this its got a fake name something like K&M...
Grahpics are ok, but you either get a beefcake character or a skinny rake character. As for the game modes, not very varied, just hostage rescue, bomb defusal etc. Also, games are too short, games only last 5 to 10 minutes, which just isn't long enough. YOU HAVE TO HAVE INTERNET OR LAN CONNECTION TO PLAY COUNTER STRIKE!!!!!! There is NO single player missions AT ALL, except a pitiful excuse for a Training mission. If you want a Counter Strike clone that has, better weapons, better gameplay, and better everything, I suggest you get Global Operations, however, Counter-Strike is still a decent game and can provide hours of fun when playing with friends that you know well.

Summary: Great but slightly overhyped
Review: I personally preferred Unreal Tournament, the graphics are better, you don't have to sit and wait each time you die for a restart, the characters and voices are far more developed and funny, etc. Even so this is a great game.

Review: Thsi is one of thoes games where it takes great amount of practice to be good at. One of the down parts that my friends allways point out is the people that you are playing the game with are not very nice. You can here them over the microphone. My friends are all newbies at this game, so other players would allways make fun of them and call them racist or crude names. But dont let them get you down. After you play for a fw monthes you start to learn different strategies like camping and rushing. This game has good graphics and fun maps to play on. My favorite map is fy_iceworld. I recommend this game to only thoes who have a fast cable modem and a good computer so it doesnt lag.

Review: This is THE best game I've played. The game is fast paced and very exciting. The graphics are rather good and the realism is great. The blood isnt so bad and looks kinda fake (i dont care and neither should kids my age because this is something that you can tell your parents) or you can turn the blood off. Another fun thing is clans. There are clan wars and you can have a special spry and name. For example im in a clan called DnA (Deadly 'n Accurete). So my name is {DnA}Fado-Zer0. There are also alot of other things like that the guns are real guns and so are the terrorist factions and counter terrorist farces. Over all id recommened it!!! -{DnA}Fado-Zer0

Review: OMG< GET THIS GAME< IT IS EXCELLENT! I have been playing it for 2 years now, and NEVER get board of it. I garentee that you will abslutly love this game. There even coming out with this game for xbox thats how good it is! Get it, you will enjoy it alot, and plus, you can download FREE mods for it, new maps, models, and MORE! I have became so obsessed with this game, i learned how to make maps for it and models! The graphics are amazing, especially if you download new models for your cs, it will look like your really on a mission. You can also befreind with people and join clans. If you love shooting games, you will love this, get it, play it, own it today!

Summary: Bestest, Awsomest, Team FPS ever
Review: Maybe even best the game ever... but I don't want to argue about it. Heres some quick ratings for those of you considering this game.(Out of 10):
Control: 9.5
Key Binding helps out, and the default keys are very well placed. However, it does take a long time to buy weapons if you haven't memorized the hotkeys, which is a pain for beginners. Graphics: 8
This is the only area where the game suffers at all is in the graphics department. With a good video card, things look fine, but everything looks slightly gritty. Compared to modern graphic superpowers, like Morrowind and Splinter Cell (for PC), this game is lacking slightly. Sound: 8.5
The excellent real-world weapon sounds keep the mood right, and adds to gameplay tremendously. Sound can be a major strategic aspect in Counter Strike, and the way it was excecuted in the game was pretty good. Overall Rating: 9.5
Bear in mind, this is not the average score from above. This is more of a "fun-factor" (sorry gamepro). This game is a must have for any PC-Shooter fan. The only compaint I have is that in public, online games, people tend to steal kills and not play with the team, which can't be helped. The only solution to this is really to form a clan of your own, and play with your friends. Once you get a game going playing with people you know, devising strategies, usinging teamwork, this game truly shines. It's plenty of fun without using a whole lot of teamwork, but I would recommend playing more organized games if you can. Just my 2 cents

Summary: And Then There Was Counter-Strike
Review: Hands down, the best multi-player FPS to date. Other newer games such as 'Soldier of Fortune 2' and 'Medal of Honor: Allied Assault' are also really good games, however... Counter-Strike... its just got something special. Other games are right there, but they just seem to miss that special something that makes Counter-Strike soooooo perfect. Bottom line is this: If you enjoy playing 'first-person-shooters' but do not currently own Counter-Strike, you simply have not experienced the pinnacle of online gaming that is currently available at a server near you. BUY THIS GAME NOW, and prepare to become addicted!
