Review: Features: This game features pretty nice graphics, realistic damage, and easy controls. There are hundreds of maps to choose from to play in, as well as dozens of great weapons. It is an extremely addicting mutli-player game that sharpens your reflexes, aim, awareness, and much more.

Comments: This game is REALLY fun and addicting. It's a great way to spend time with your friends, believe it or not...killing each other. If you have 56k, then I suggest that you DO NOT buy this game. Only people with DSL, LAN, or higher should play because then you will lag and your gameplay will be spoiled. I admit, this game can get tiring, frustrating, and you may begin to get bored with it, but the majority of people are in love with it and continue to play for years to come. For best performance and gameplay, you need AT LEAST DSL and a very decent, fast computer. It's a great game! =]

Review: OK. I do not own this game..YET i just orderd it. I have played this game many times at my friends house. This game beats Unreal Tournament any day. Though Unreal has all these special wepons and power ups and things, it cant compare to the more realistic CS.

One thing to all Unreal fans, this game has no respwan. Which means that after you die you have to wait for the round to be over to get back to playing. There are no health packs and things in this game. The only stuff you pick up is dead ppl's guns. This makes the game more realistic, unlike all other fps.Also you dont run at a 100000000000 mph. you run at realistic speeds. This game is more thab just run in and shoot everyone u c. If u do that, U will get your @$$ clapped. This gmae actually requires teamwork. Running in and blastin will only make you dead. try it a\in a pub sever, and u'll c. It works in other fps but not here.

Now to Just the game. The graphics are a bit grainy. But not too bad. The gameply mkaes up for the slight lack in graphics. There is endless play in this game. Weither u r playing bots, or real ppl. This game never gets old.EVER!there are three modes to play. depending on the two letters followed by a _ b4 the map name. The modes are bomb,hostage, and VIP. Bomb- Terrorists try to plant bomb(or kill all Counter Terrorists). CT(counter terrorists) try to defuse the4 bomb or just kill all enimies. But if tghe bomb has been planted already they must defuse it. Hostage- Simple really, Terrorists try to keep hostages, and CTs thry to rescue them. Or kill all on the other team. VIP- if u are CTs you must protect VIP, or kill all T's. T's try to kill the VIP, or kill all CT's.

When you start out in the game you only have a knife and a pistol, and hardly ay money to buy a new gun or ammo. To get more moeny, get kills, and win the round. In this game there is no auto aim, unless you use a hack. so it requires more skill. You cant hit anything when runnin and trying to shoot. So dont try. This game is much more complicated than any other fps. Besides guns and ammo, you can buy grenades and bullet proof vest, helmets, and other things.

One gun you must fear, or love in this game, the AWP. It is a HIGH powered sniper rifle. This gub kills in one hit no matter if it hits you in the toe, or head. When you kill an enimy by shooting him in the head, it is called a headshot. HS kill in one hit, unless they have a helmet. But the helmet will only stop some guns, it wont stand against an AWP. Besides the AWP there is a large varity of weapons. From a glock and duoble pistols to AK's and Mp5 to scouts and AWP's

If you like any FPS get this game. It will b diff. then your unreal tournament. But MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better. It will take some getting used to for you unreal fans.

Review: This is problably the best Half Life MOD/add-on ever made. In this online only version, you get to play either as terrorists or counter-terrorists on four scenarios. In the hostage rescue scenario (cs maps) The terrorists are sopposed to guard the hostages and prevent counter-terrorists from extracting them. In Bomb/Defuse maps (de maps) the terrorists are to plant the bomb at a certain "bomb zone", while counter-terrorists guards it or defuses it when it is planted. On escape maps (es maps) terrorist team starts at a strongpoint and they escape together. Once half of the terrorists escape, their team wins. The counter-terrorists try their best to shoot them before they escape. Last but not least are the Assassination maps (as maps). The VIP on the counter-terrorist team must escape to a designated zone. The counter-terror teammate must protect him at all costs or they will lose. The terrorists job is to try their best to kill him. Unlike other online first person shooters, this game lets you buy weapons and equipment. However it does not allow you to gain health from first aid kits, nor does it allow you to respawn until the end of the round. Spray a few rounds and he's gone. The weapons has a wide range of damage amount you can do. Depending on the weapon, a 9mm pistol often takes more than half of a clip's worth of bullets. Serious though 1 9mm pistol bullet can kill in real life! A rifle like the awp, for example can frag a player when you hit anywhere above the waist. The game is based on many real life weapons. Because of its' high accuraccy and damage, the M4 rifle is my favorite weapon.
Counter-Strike has long waiting times if in case you die. It also takes time getting used to. At first I had to admit that I really a newbie. My aim was terrible, I was getting shot at all the time and I don't know where do take cover. Then, I found out my biggest problem was that my holding down of the trigger did not make me hit anything. You have to really try your best to fire in bursts. A lot of the FPS are like that. It's about 3 times more recoil in guns than in other games. I focused on my tactics of hitting and hiding and good teamwork. Teamwork is one of the most important aspects of the game, since its not like unreal tournament or quake 3 where you to shoot everthing that moves. A truly victorious CS team will use planning, tactics, and communication well every new round.
The graphics are not bad nor good. The graphics are basically the same as Half Life, and Half Life's graphics are very outdated, but are OK. Oh well, at least it's super smooth and isn't laggy at all, even on a low-end PC such as a Pentium 2 350 with 128 megabytes of RAM and a very low-end Nvidia Geforce 2 graphics card. The weapons have realistic sounds and same with the radio commands. The most popular maps are de_dust, de_dust 2, de_aztec, de_prodigy, cs_italy, and cs_assault, although there are a lot of custom made maps made my ordinary players. This game has a few glitches though. For example, when a player leaves its game when he's alive when other people frag him, the image shakes violently and lost its' solidness. It's like you have died and the spirit leaves but the body remaines. The gameplay and idea is what makes this game so special and addicting. If you already own half-life, you can download this MOD. Otherwise you will have to buy it. Follow my advice and BUY THIS GAME!
Ups: Extremely addicting gameplay, very smooth and no lagg at all really, realistic sound effects, and realistic weapons. Well made maps.
Downs: Outdated graphics. It can be pretty buggy sometimes, but nothing too big to worry about.
Bottom Line: This is by far the best online action game I've ever played.
If I had to give it a score on a scale from 1-100, I would give it a 96/100.

Summary: Good, but not a great game
Review: cs is a good game, but not a great one. I don't know how this game makes so much succes. Its graphics are bad compared to other game and there's no single-player mode. I don't have a cable modem or ASDL, and I don't have the game either, I played it on LAN. It's really fun, but if you aren't someone that lives to play computer you'll be disappointed with the difficulty level. It's almost impossible to survive playing with people that spend the whole day playing it, you have no chance against them! You can download the bots, but they play better than the human players.
In CS, the bodies lie in the air ( unlike Hitman ) and the bulletmarks are terrinly bad done. Other problem are the level names. It's not like "Tobruk", or "St. Petersburg Stakeout": they're strange names like "cs_mansion" or "aim_map_glock". When you want to make a votation, it's still worse: you have to write "admin_vote map" and the mission strange name. This games seems like it wasn't finished.
If you want a good battle game with bullets flying and no boring missions, buy Battlefield 1942 and its expanssion packs, and don't buy CS just becouse everyone says it's great.

Review: Yes, the amazing Counter-Strike. I have heard about this game for many, many years, and it has suprised me quite a bit. It is a very enjoyable game, but it also instigates much anger through these pixeled graphics. While I was playing online with other anonymous people, I encountered people who used much profanity and provacative words. But this is a very obnoxious factor to a review. Now to the point. I feel this game requires some computer knowledge, a basic understanding; at least. The graphics are a bit pixely, and not the greatest, but they show quality. The gameplay is what creates most of the Counter-strike addicts. The gameplay is very vast. The many weapons and equipment alter the combinations of play, thus making the game more enjoyable. I have been playing this game for a while, maybe 6 months, and I have become pretty good at it. It is amazing how people can become so attatched to Counter-strike. I feel sometimes this is not healthy for some people, especially students. This should be a free-time game, and not an obsessive factor in one's life. That would just "...".

Review: This game is a lot of fun if you like sniping terrorists who arent comp charecters.Or if u love to be in intense combat with your teammates. So get some buddies of yours and join a server and have an intense battle where it just keeps getting better and better, ya=).My point- BUY THIS AND HAVE GRRRREAT FUN BABY!!!!=)

Review: Half-Life: Counter-Strike is a very basic but fun loving that can appeal to anyone who's ready to shoot a few people. CS, although not the most advanced fps is a great shooter in its own right. The game is about two diffrent sides, one counter-terrorists, the other terrorists. Both teams go up against each to other to do various missions. The missions consist of planting bombs, getting VIP's out of trouble and saving hostages. The other way that you can win are killing the opposing force while still having living teamates or having youself live. Although there are only a few specified missions and it seems very basic, trust me the game will keep you playing for days and days.

CS consists of real weapons and variety of them. The great thing about these weapons are that the sounds are actually taken from the weapons, giving you a real time feel of each and every weapon. There are a variety of pistols, shotguns, sub machine guns, (assualt or sniper) rifles, and machine guns. Of course however, your not going to be able to buy all these weapons right from the get go. You must win rounds, kill people or attempt to rescue hostages to get money. If you dont you will lose money making it harder to win because now you have less money to spend on guns. Dont think that you can only spend that money on guns though, try spending it on grenades, helmets to protect from from headshots, kevlars which are body armor, primary ammo (your top gun ammo), secondary ammo (your pistol ammo) and other accesories like defuser kits and night vision.

CS has a basic setup that works. When your put into the game you will start off with a pistol (they are diffrent for terrorists and counter terrorists) a knife and a radio for radio commands. Radio commands can tell your partners everything from if you need backup to the enemy is spotted to get in position and even saying cover me. When you start off the basic amount of money is 800.00 to spend on a new pistol, grenades and other accesories. In the game you have options to put weapons and such in, each with a specific reason. You can hold a primary weapon (optional), a pistol(optional), a knife (mandatory), a grenade (optional), and one accesory which is optional (kevlars and helmets dont count.)

The games graphics are semi par. There not excellent but not horrible. There something you'd expect from the late 90's. They do get better depending on how good your graphics card is. The speed of the bame is great. However if you have a slow computer you should stick to training mode until your computer is faster. The great thing about the speed is that if you lag (latency is not fast) then its your problem, not anyone else's. If you dont lag you'll be fine. Beware though, some servers lag and make a whole game lag.

All in all a great game filled with basic shoot em up fun. It gets even more fun when you have plenty of friends to play with or if you have joined a clan and you play with your clan. My adivce is definitly look into the game if your skeptical about if your not go out there and buy it
