Rating: Summary: Valve has went to the dogs Review: I would have to say that valve and the tech responsible for leaving the HL2 source code wide open to hackers has ruined this game for everybody! and if this isn't bad enough valves new gaming engine "Steam" that is now required to play any of Sierra's gaming titles on-line, it is so full of bugs it makes game-play impossible!I would recommend that everybody who is into on-line gaming stay clear of valves Half-Life 2 for two main reasons, 1)It's being passed around the internet into the hands of exploit authors twho ruin on-line multi-player games with writing and distributing cheats that makes game-play unfair for those who enjoy this excitement without. 2)I have tried playing Half-Life and the mods for this engine using "Steam" on two pc's 1 wih Win98se and the other machine XP Home Edition and the bugs were so bad that both of my pc's were rendered useless for up to 25 minutes after rebooting both pc's. Save your money and invest it in other games like Medal of Honor by E.A Games you won't be sorry!
Rating: Summary: probably 10 actually Review: In the 25min high def video i saw, my jaw dropped and i had to pick up the pieces one by one. As the mysterious G-man says at the end of it : "Well, well, Mr. Freeman, isn't it just like...ooold times?" This phrase, for some reason, is the one that told me most :" this game is gonna kick major ass." I think that Half-life is probably the greatest pc game ever made, even maybe the best game ever made. So these "old times" are such a great memory that this sentence pretty much sums up how good hl2 is gonna be.I mean, the graphics for one, are so advanced it's going to take a long time for competitors to even broach that level. (except maybe for doom 3 devellopers, their graphics rip too) But the most impressive thing in hl2 is the physics engine. The way the player can intereact with teh environment is simply awe-inspiring. For exemple, when you see a guy take out a futuristic-orange-glowing-electromagnetic gun, and use it to levitate a wall radiator in front of them as a sheild, and tehn hurl it at the enemy like a massive wreck ball, you say to yourself: "This, is COOL."( for lack of better word, because there is no possible good description of the feeling you get at that time) I sincerely hope that it will not have the same fate as other recent sequels, like jak 2, which tried to add some to their very good first opus, thus making it confusing, rough and left a feeling of unfinished in the gamers mouth. I hope that hlf life 2, will be not only a good looking game, but a good playing game as well. But since valve has pretty much turned out only great games, i trust them for this one. "And we thought Black Mesa was bad..."
Rating: Summary: This will blow our minds Review: This game will PWN you, i've had a chance to see it in action and wow, i get goose bumps everytime i see the video. My expected release date of the game is one year from the announced release date, since with half-life it was one year from thats expected release date, it would only make sense that this is whats going to happen will this. expected release: Sept. 30th 2004.
Rating: Summary: Halo 2 dethroned and release date late. Review: I took a trip to E3 this year and saw it. The best game there. The way it looks so far its going to write a new legacy for Half-Life and next-gen games. Halo 2's release date was delayed so they could add some last minute extra's but Sierra has been on this little project since 1999 when Half-Life Game of the Year edition came out. 4 years and a good base game is an excellent start. Remember the Metal Gear Legacy? So why are they delaying the release date? Not to mention I was dumb and reserved my copy with Gamestop which comes out 2 months later than Amazon. It looked better than excellent at E3 so whats the problem? Hopefully their going to throw in some suprize thats going to be marveled at for years. I highly reccommend this game to even Halo fans. P.S.Get a good computer JUST for this game
Rating: Summary: Simply the best. Review: For those that have Half-Life 1 they know that it will be 100 times better due to their new 'source' engine, the one that gives it it's realistic properties. Those that haven't the slightest clue what Half-Life is but like First Person Shooters, where have you been for the past 5 years? If you want to play for the plot, I recommend you also buy Half-Life 1 with this and play it in order. If you just want it for the graphics, gore (which can be turned off), etc, well, buy it! This game will simply be the best one for many many years to come and it is a must buy!
Rating: Summary: HL2... Will it match HL1? Review: I haven't played HL2 yet, but I'm going to be the first to play it. The first Half Life was the best FPS ever. I just hope they don't screw it up by getting too Quake on us... Let's all just keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't ruin the memories of the first HL.
Rating: Summary: This will decimate all. Review: This game has the right to tell games like Halo 2 to get out of the way. Graphics engine, gameplay, AI will be the best from the day of release and probably months after even halo2 is released. Seeing all the screenshots, in game videos puts shivers all over my body in anticipation for this game. If you think you cant play it because of the stress of the graphics then its time to spend the money to upgrade. Because if u cant play this game well ur out of the loop until u can. Ths is also suppose to be MOD-friendly as they designed the source to be as easy as possible to use so u can expect better mods then counter-strike to be out for HL. Your not paying for only 1 game here, this is a investment in a potental unlimited amount of games.
Rating: Summary: HAHA Review: OMG I just LOVED the part when Bill Cosby had that duel-to-the-death with Roseanne!!!... BILL COSBY IS THE MAN. He's my favorite playable character in HL2, aside from that hotty Steven Seagal, or maybe Tim the Toolman Taylor... Hmm...So many choices...
Rating: Summary: Boring, been there done that. Review: This game will blow the original half life away! Oh wait.... Unreal, Unreal2, 2003, UT, Quake 2, Quake 3, DuesEX, and even the "when its done" trailer for Duke Forever ALREADY did that. hmm big surprise. Unreal2 dissapointed. *snif* Doom 3 will fill the void, and one day fan boys will forget why halflife ever sold.
Rating: Summary: Well.. Review: It was pretty good, but I could have done WITHOUT the Gary Coleman monster, it totally ruined the atmosphere when he came up, EVERY TIME, and they introduce him like half way into the game, so... yeah.
