Rating: Summary: Great Game! Review: I have to admit that I waited abit before I bought the game but boy was it worth it. I already have Medal of Honor and Battlefield 1942. This game is a FPS so it's more like Medal of Honor. But what a difference. For one thing, it's not as taxing on your computer as MoH. The graphics are better, the sound effects are better and I like the realism much better. The action was smooth and fluid, not like MoH which really drained my system (2 ghz P4, 256MB RAM, ATI 9700 128 MB RAM).You can really get into it. It was neat to see the paratroopers fall out from the sky and land. The monster fire power of the flakpanzer really came alive as the sound and light lite up the sky. Another neat thing that makes this game stick out is that soldiers don't disappear once they are killed. It's not that I am sick or anything but in real life, when people are taken down, they don't appear. I really enjoyed this game and I'm sure that they are working on a sequel, which I would buy.
Rating: Summary: Sensational!!! Review: There's no doubt that this is a great game,I've played quite a number of them that containe this theme, but for sure,Call of Duty IS THE BEST.......Extream sound,graphics,...everything in this game is great.I've got it a few days ago and eversince I can't stop playing it.But in the begining I had problems because the game is demanding newest drivers so I had to update them.Realy...it's not a big deal,it takes a little time to update, but when you start to play the game,YOU WON'T REGREAT IT.But also I must agree with Jose Unanue, you can finish playing the game in a day or two,I've finished playing it in 12 hours without a stop!!!Realy its that exciting,...and tough..... My real objection---they should've made more missions.Buy it ,you won't regreat it.
Rating: Summary: Good Gameplay/ Short Playing Time Review: The gameplay fells average, just like the "on a track" feel of Medal of Honnor Allied Assault. Not much space to improvise or take another aproach. Just do "that" and lets go to the next level. The sound and graphics are very good, nothing new but really pleasant with attention to detail. There's no "Use" button, you can not open doors or drive vehicles. The movement is slow, no mather how you are aiming. The best aspect of this game is that, for some times, you can feel very inmersed in the story and in the "war" that is going on around you. The multiplayer option needs more development. My biggest complain is the time for completing it. Terribly short time, I finished in TWO days. For a game on this price there are other options in this particular genre (First person) that have a more value for money (Ex. Return to Castle Wolfestein or No One Lives Forever). Get it if you can buy it used for a very low price, but paying more than $40.00 for it is not very wise.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Heir to MOHAA Review: I suppose that comparisons to MOHAA are inevitable. However, I really like this game a lot. The teamwork aspect of it really comes though most of the time. The opening scene and mission are great. You sneak through enemy lines, only fighting a few enemies, until you meet your fellow troopers. Then BAM you are in the middle of a raging firefight. It's one of the most intense gun battles I have scene involving at least 20 or so characters, all moving and fighting around you at once. I found that you really have to think out your attacks in this game. Of course, there's a lot of Hollywood in this game, and several scenes are blatant ripoffs of movies such as "Private Ryan", "Enemy at the Gates" and "A Bridge Too Far". One mission stands out. As a British airborne trooper, you and your men must hold off Nazi armor and soldiers from a bridge until reinforcements arrive. Wave after wave of nazis surround you, and you of course get low on ammo after a while, until you hear the stirring music and the Yanks arrive to bail you out. It's pretty intense. I admit I did not like a few of the levels - one on a dam and another on a battleship - which are Rambo-like FPS. Those who enjoyed MOHAA will fit right in. The weapon sounds are good, and you can even bring any weapon up to eye level for more accurate shooting. There's a lot of mayhem in this game, and thankfully no stealth missions. So far, the Russian missions are my favorite. The Stalingrad mission is brutal and intense, with vicious house to house fighting. One level "Pavlov's House" is really vicious - you pay for every single step you take with no breathing room, not even a few seconds. This game really keeps you on your toes. I can see why this game has been so popular.
Rating: Summary: Amazing... Review: Call of Duty's single player game is second to none as far as immersing you in the gameplay. The visuals and audio are simply unbelievable. If you enjoyed M.O.H., Call of Duty will surely make you forget that game. It is superior to any WWII shooter on the market in terms of realism. The selection of weapons is great, the scripted events are movie-like, and the Stalingrad offensive is mind blowing. Although the single player is a bit short, and finished easily, you will not get bored with it's superb multiplayer package. It sports deathmatch, team deathmatch, search and destroy, and recovery modes. All of which are a joy to play. If you are a fan of the genre, you owe it to yourself to pick up Call of Duty, which is the most fun I've had since Battlefield 1942 was released. Highly, highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Best WWII Game Ever! Review: I have never played a more intense and exciting game in my life. The single player spans four different campaigns, each of which is more exciting than the previous one. However multiplayer stinks. This would make it receive a four star rating, but since the single player mode makes up for it, I gave it a five. Get this game!
Rating: Summary: Great Game Review: This is a great game to have. If you love WWII you want this game. Some people think Battlefield 1942 is better and vise versa. Battlefield has vehicles. COD his guns and Maps. They both have really cool stuff.
Rating: Summary: Great Singleplayer, Mediocre Mutiplayer Review: The singleplayer game in this is extraordinary. Without a doubt the best FPS I've played to date. But the multiplayer is a different story. It is mediocre at best. Snipers dominate most maps. A lot of maps are poorly designed for multiplayer. Weapon balance is not too good. No anti-cheat program. And Infinity Ward has been pretty quiet when it comes to addressing the public about a patch or anti-cheat program.
Rating: Summary: Call of Duty more realistic Review: In so many first person shooters, the enemy is a gaggle of moronic automatons. Cover is their bane; they rush out from behind walls and from under bushes firing their guns into the air and screaming a bloody warcry. Scores of their ilk are mown down in action hero cinema. None of their bullets hit true, they run into fists and occasionally they've been known to perform gymnastics after being blown into the air by a fragment grenade. My friends had a name for these guys: scum-guards. Their only purpose in life is to die for the hero. I mention this because a few elements of Call of Duty impressed me. In this game, you won't make it as a 'bug-hunter'. Think William Dafoe doing his jaunt through the jungle at the end of Platoon- the scene where he haphazardly rampages through enemy lines, killing twenty guys in two minutes. That strategy will not cut the mustard in this game. The enemy knows how to take cover, and he knows where you are after you've peeked around a corner. If he has a large caliber mounted machine gun, you'll get a heavy spray of lead directed at you that almost seems to chip away at the wall you're hiding behind, making you back further away from the edge. Also, the enemy will rush you if he's close enough and start hammering on you with the butt end of his rifle. The one trick they haven't learned from Medal of Honor is to pick up the grenade you just threw and toss it back in your direction. But lets face it- grenades were totally useless in Medal of Honor. Here they will kill the enemy- they seem to have a greater area of damage and the enemy doesnt panic their way out of rooms as fast. Also, I don't know what kind of breakaway plaster they were using in Medal of Honor, but in this game a few well placed shots will take you out of the action quick. The enemy can shoot and their bullets hurt. A few other nice touches are the moments of shell shock, when a mortar lands too close to you, and of course the last scenario, when you play a poor Russian peasant being ferried across the river to Stalingrad. It's the best survival horror I've seen in a video game aside from the Omaha beach landing in Medal of Honor. Stalingrad is a wreck, the mood is visceral and dirty and the ground looks cold. This is a great addition to what is becoming a very interesting sub-genre. In six years or so, when a few more leaps in graphics capability have been reached, you're going to see a game that will do this even better: steaming breath, splashes of mud, clouds darkening the sky, crawling wounded- the works. But this will do for now.
Rating: Summary: MOH still owns Review: I am not going to say that this game is bad or anything but it does not make me want to switch over. I still play MOH and I did not find COD to be significantly better, in fact I enjoy MOH alot more. The gameplay of this game is not equivalent. Also random spawning is not all that great, plenty of times I spawned surrounded by enemy only to be turned into swiss cheese. Anyway I pass on this one because I am a stubborn bastard.
