Rating: Summary: Fantastic PC Game Review: I anxiously awaited the release of this game, hoping that it would live up to the hype generated by the publisher. Surprisingly it exceeded my expectations. It has great graphics, plenty of action and excellent playability. I was surprised that I loaded and played the game without any problems. I have a PC that barely meets the minimum requirements and it plays fine. To me it is as good if not better than the highly succesful Medal of Honor series. I hope to see expansion packs for COD. Be warned, this is about war and is very violent and graphically explicit. Fans of first person shooters will love this game.
Rating: Summary: Fun, but no medal of honor Review: This game is not worth the $50.00 that activision is asking for it. It lacks the crispness and detail of MOH titles. It is far to busy for my taste, i.e. life packs scattered all over, your squad mates running each way, being able to run up to a door and have it automatically open, furthermore, I don't like the way the german soldiers die after you shoot them. You don't here or see the impact of the bullet. I think activision needs to tone down their rhetoric in making statements that Call of Duty will make WWII gamers forget about MOH. They should rather focus on game improvement. When I play it and get through a campaign, I feel like I just finished a level of pacman. You lured me once, you won't lure me again!!!
Rating: Summary: Medal Of Honor...On Speed! Review: While it's not groundbreaking, it's definitely the best World War II shooter on the market right now.The most impressive aspect of Call of Duty is its immersion factor. From the sound to the chaos going on around you. Instead of feeling like it's you alone against Nazi Germany, you really end up feeling like you're just another soldier trying to do his job and get home. And the action is fast and furious almost from beginning to end. The game involves US, British and Soviet campaigns. At times you'll feel like you're part of Band of Brothers and at others you'll feel as though you're starring in Enemy at the Gates. Both movies are borrowed heavily from, especially the latter. The Soviet campaign has some of the best set piece action, including the crossing of the Volga as you try to make it up the banks in Stalingrad...without a weapon. Simply amazing. Frankly, the game is full of set pieces, including some pretty spectacular firefights in the US campaign, like the storming of a POW camp and the taking of a French village--only to have to defend it against counter attack the following morning. The weakest part of the game is the middle--where you play as a British soldier. Much of the action is singular, in that you aren't fighting alongside your buddies. However, there is the taking and defending of the Pegasus Bridge in that campaign, where you do fight with fellow soldiers, and it is over-the-top. If there are really any weaknesses in the game it's the Quake III engine, which while heavily modified for Call of Duty, is past its prime. (The benefit to that, however, is that even with a modest machine, you're not going to have problems running this game with decent settings!) And other than the fact that it's got better immersion than other World War II shooters, it's not breaking any new ground. It's a better version of what we've already seen. One other negative worth mentioning is the length. Granted, you get a lot of bang for your buck, but if you have any experience with shooters, you'll easily finish this game in under 10 hours. It took me a week of casual play to finish. Unfortunately, this is a growing trend in gaming and I don't see it changing. You will, however, get some added value out of the multiplay options. On a positive note, however, with such a short length, there is very little filler, and this is the only game I've ever owned that I decided to play again, immediately after finishing the first time. If you don't mind paying the full price, this is a "must have right now" game. If you decide to wait for the price to drop, it's still a must have. It's like driving a race car...without a seatbelt!
Rating: Summary: Call Of Duty Review Review: Call Of Duty is what may be referred to as a World War II game. Its the allies verses the axis. You play as three main characters in the game. One is a american, second one is british, and the third one is russian. The gameplay of this game is intense. Realism and accurate landmarks make you feel like your actually the soldier in the game. This game offers you good AI for both enemy and friendly people, so you wont be disapointed by this. Gameplay can extend to over five hours so you will know it will be your moneys worth. Also, theres a multiplayer mode, so the action never ends! Join upon dozen and dozens of servers availiable to play on and kill whomever you see. I recommend this game to anyone whose looking for non-stop action and realistic graphics.
Rating: Summary: Its Good Review: Call of Duty is a great game with lots of historical places and great graphics. It is fun and has online gameplay. I would say the single player is the only reason I like it. The multi-player isn't as good, I dont know why though. The guns don't sound very real either. I will give it 4 stars because of its great single player games and I wont give it 5 because of the sounds of the guns and multi-player. [{--PeAcEoUt<--}] ScCrFrEaK
Rating: Summary: blown away! Review: This is just what i've been waiting for. The next step in FPS gaming. The totally immersive, intense action sequences blew me away. (the car chase scene alone is worth the fifty bucks)Playing for just a couple hours leaves you in need of a break feeling war-torn and frazzled. Multiplayer is the best i've ever played. This will be the new standard that all other FPS games are judged against.
Rating: Summary: Worth to Buy Review: I have the games now (2 CD's). And I can't raise my butts from the chair !!! Heellllppp ....
Rating: Summary: Booooring... Review: Let me start off by saying that this ISN't the worst game ever, but considering this is supposed to be the big follow up to MOHAA(supposedly created by the MOHAA people), I was really let down, especially since I spent 50 bucks on this game. Also, let me say that this is a review of the Single Player Game. This game rocks for Multiplayer! The Good: This game had some excellent upgrades from MOHAA. Certain realism factors were done extremely well: tracers, sounds, character textures, dynamic lighting, and an unbelievably well-done AI. The BAD: The biggest drawback is that the game play gets to be very, very boring. There is no realy story to speak of and all you ever do is shoot Nazis. Yes, this was MOHAA gameplay, but something was missing. The environments, although well textured and lit and all that good stuff, but when I play this game I feel like I might as well be playing Super Mario Brothers on NES. There are no doors to open, no choices on how to move through a map, there are no problems to solve, and the indoor environments are like playing the second level of Contra. There is a house (chateau) that you go into on one mission in which every single room looks exactly the same. And it's not really rooms, it's just a whole bunch of hallways that look exactly the same. I had played the Demo for this game before I bought the full version and I had very high hopes. The gsquad based combat that you get on the demo level doesn't carry over through the rest of the game with the same quality. Each level is exactly the same except you're in different environments. This translates into one word. BOOOORING.
Rating: Summary: If you liked MOH, you'll love this game... Review: I downloaded the Demo game and played it all night long. It was terrific. The following morning, I went out and bought the game. True to its ratings, it IS an excellent game. I would compare it to MOH almost exactly. And contrary to what previous gamers wrote, the snipers ARE extremely accurate as are guards, when you play in the "Veteran" or difficult mode. I rated MOH highly and I do likewise with this game. It's costly, but worth it. The only downside I can see with this game, is that it's short. I started playing it at 4PM in the afternoon and finished it at 4AM. Yeah, it's that addictive...and fun. You can save anytime you want and you can play at varying levels of difficulty. I found a few minor bugs in the game, but still, nothing that made me cuss out the designers... The controls are great, the graphics are pretty darn good, not excellent, but good. I just wish it was ten times longer. One other thing I have to say I was a bit disappointed with, was the multiplayer online thing. It could be me, but I don't see the sense in it. I tried it a couple times and it's kind of boring... The single player mode is much more exciting and fun. Now, to see Vietnam in this kind of realism... Payback... To sum up, the game is well worth the money and a lot of fun. I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: The Best You Can Buy Review: After waiting through three months of hype, this game comes out just as promised, and better. Some of the most emotional gaming you can find around, and with a bustling community this one will be a winner for years to come. Highly recommend to any WWII fan or FPS fanatic.
