Summary: Great game but...
Review: I wouldn't recommand purchasing this game unless you have a regular CD / DVD player. I spent the last couple weeks talking to UBI and online forums. Finally figured out their retarded copy protection (smartdisk I think it's called) checks if you can burn disks. If so then it will bring up a GPF screen. I've tested it on the same hardware with a regular player. Works fine. The DVD burner (a Sony) works great for HL2, Doom 3 and other mainstream games. Even installing with the player and switching to the burner didn't work. You must have a player. Period. This is why I rate the game 3 instead of a 5.

On to the game. Yep, Sam Fisher is awesome (I installed a DVD player now along with the burner). I just arrived at the US Embassy in E. Timor. Graphics are AMAZING! I've played SP1 and expected SP2 to be at least as good. Game play very well done. I recommend it IF you don't have a burner (Sorry UBI, that only slightly slows pirates and annoys people who actually purchase the product).

Summary: ZERO, ZILCH, NADA LAPTOP SUPPORT
Review: If you are buying this for your laptop, DON'T. I walked into a retail store and picked up a few games. This one was one that DID NOT MENTION anything about no laptop support on the box. I bought it and opened the box only to read in the instructions INSIDE that it did not support some laptop chipsets. Boy, did my opinion of UBISOFT just go down. I installed it anyways in hopes of still salvaging the software, but was met with a notification that I didn't meet the requirements. Hrumph, big surprise. Nevertheless, it doesn't work on a laptop, so don't buy it if you are in hopes of that.

Summary: Some great updates to the original.
Review: If you are coming off playing the original and thinking about getting Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow then chances are you liked the first one. If you liked the first one there is nothing about Pandora that will disappoint. It exceeds the original in almost every category.

There are a few new moves in this outing. They are easy to learn and incorporate if you are already accustomed to the first game. If you have not played the first SC, then you will have a much higher learning curve. I would also recommend playing the original first, as it is extremely cheap right now and very fun. The original will hone your skills for taking Pandora on.

Pandora bests the original in graphics and also corrects some strange behaviors that were in place in the original game. The most noticeable is the absence of bullet-proof light bulbs. My friends and I use to have fun pointing out that flaw in the original. We would joke around about how terrorists shouldn't be in it for the money if they had enough to install so many bullet-proof lightbulbs. We would also go on about "boo-let-pruf-leit-bulbs" in thick russian accents - good times. So far all light-bulbs in this game are breakable. I still do not understand why there is no option to simply unscrew a lightbulb. You still have to waste a bullet (or find a throwable glass bottle) to create some cover of darkness.

A new welcome feature in Pandora is the quicksave/load. I played the original on the X-box, so this might not be new in the PC versions. I don't know how many times I had to execute a sequence of events that took 15 minutes just so I could mess up time and time again at some difficult spot right before the checkpoint. No such headache here.

A few new improvements include an indicator that tells you exactly how many times you can be spotted before the mission is compromised and an indicator that tells you when bodies are sufficiently hidden.

Pandora is a fun continuation of the original. It suffers from the sequel syndrome - that it may have not lived up to expectations of some, but this is certainly a great outing for ubisoft - irregardless of their attempts to curb piracy that only serve to alienate their fanbase.

Summary: So your having CD-RW Issues eh...
Review: If your reading this, scan down and read about the person who blames this game and the company who made it because of CD-RW issues, and because it won't start up at all. I have a tip for that person. Read the "Readme files", most games don't run good or run at all on CD-RW drives, which are "CD burner" disk drives. da... That's why your game is not wanting to load. The game like most PC games only run on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drives. Always read the "Readme Files" Any game with Tom Clancy's name on it, believe me it has been tested to work on Windows 98, me, 2000, XP and on quite a bit of hardware too.

I just bought this game and have not really finished it yet. So I don't know how good it is all the way through...

Summary: Save your money, buy the first one.
Review: In as short a review as possible... This game is identical to the original. The only difference is that you are playing different missions. I have noticed no real changes in the technology used to make the game or the game play. You might as well buy the original for half the price. If you already have it, e-mail UbiSoft and ask them why this wasn't an expansion pack for $20.

Summary: Graphics Chip?
Review: It appears that the game will not work with Mobility Radeon 7500 with only 32 MB of RAM. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on whether or not it is worth it to purchase this game if I only have this card. My other specs exceed the minimum requirements. Thanks.

Summary: It's good
Review: It is refreshing to have a game that feels mature and intellegent. I've only just started the single player and I already know it will be a classic. It's quiet and relaxing.

Summary: WARNING to all CDRW drive owners
Review: Just a friendly warning to all CDR/CDRW/DVDR/DVDRW drive owners. UBI Soft as a "feature" on their PC software that prevents installation from any drive with write capacity. Why they feel that will slow down a game cracker, and why they don't mind blowing off an entire segment of the market, is entirely beyond me, but that's not the point here. Call UBI Soft tech support BEFORE buying this or any other PC game from them, and check to make sure whether or not you will be able to install. Software (such as Chessmaster 9000, just to grab a random example) doesn't come with a warning on the box (in "some" cases, they claim -- I haven't found a single box that does), nor is there a warning on the Amazon product pages (short of reviews like this). One could speculate that they're perfectly happy to let people buy their software knowing some won't be able to install it, but I'll leave their motivation to give no warning to consumers to your imagination.

UBI Soft's tech support has said that this "feature" extends to *all* of their PC titles. So fair warning, particularly to folks with laptops where DVD/CDRW drives came standard, ask before you buy. Perhaps if enough people have a problem with this flawed policy, UBI will smarten up. "Flawed" because limiting installs to drives without write capacity isn't going to slow a determined game cracker/pirate down, it's only going to prevent normal consumers from being able to install the game. Worse, they don't find out until they've opened the package and tried to install, which in some cases is enough to prevent a return and refund from the seller.

I'm certain this game deserves more than 1 star, and suspect it will see some good reviews from people who are able to install, but I can't give it more than a single. That's a commentary on UBI Soft and their "feature", not about the game itself. In fact, when I get around to writing a review of the XBox version, it may well merit a 5-star rating.

Summary: Take a deep breath...hold it...now release slowly... Better?
Review: Let's all just calm down a bit. Is there a problem? Perhaps, ... I don't know. However, let's just ponder a bit on the "overall" issue raised which was - Would a large company REALLY release a product that WILL NOT install or play with a cd/dvd burner?

To answer that, NO they would not. Consider how many computers are sold, and already have been sold, with ONLY 1 cd/dvd burner. Millions. So, they would be cutting their own throat if they purposely did that. If you just think about that for a min, you will realize that this is being blown out to be WAY bigger than it is. Now, is there a problem with it not installing under certain conditions, etc... Perhaps. Well, what game in recent history did not have to be patched? It's just as simple as that.

The problem, if it exists at all, WILL be fixed by the company ASAP. There is no malicious or intentional programming to keep persons from playing the game. That is just ridiculous. Also, I agree, you really can't "review" a game until it is released, so all those doing so here are just stating their own "personal" opinion as to what they "hope" it will be like. Me too... I hope it is GREAT.

Summary: Best game i ever played
Review: Overall, the secone installment of splinter cell has been a joy for me. Currently I'm on the 7th level (the TV station level) and like it alot. The single player gameplay is much like the first game, but with a few improvements. To be successful in this game, Sam must rely on his stealth more than in the first game. I feel the locations are many times better than the original, with much more lifelike graphics. Also, the storyline of this game is easier to follow and more understandable than the original splinter cell. Sam only gets a few new weapons, but they are cool, and only add to the good gaming experience. If you have played the original splinter cell, this game will be a bit easy, so i recommend using the hard difficulty setting. AI has definitely been improved in this sequel, the guards are smarter than before, adding difficulty to the gameplay.

I have only played the multiplayer twice, but like it alot. It kinda feels like CS, but even better.

I would recommend this game to anyone. It rocks!!!
