Summary: Doom 3: Another Mindless Adventure Shooter?
Review: I know everyone is saying "Woah! This game will be the best in the world!" Well, think again. Sure, I know that the graphics are absolutely spectactular, but come to think of it, have you ever seen the 24 minute trailer for Half Life 2? That game has AI, tactics, graphics, physics and can run on a low-end card using a special technique they used in the source engine. The graphics are amazing on it.

Doom has always featured mindless action where you have big guns to kill big monsters in big levels, that takes a big amount of time to finish. I thought the first Doom was groundbreaking. It really was. But Doom 3 is just a graphical remake of the first few.

Lets also not forget to mention the fact that only FOUR PLAYERS can participate in a deathmatch! Replay value counts on multiplayer game modes. Once you beat single player, its done. Multiplayer opens new doorways for gameplay, but 4 players is just horrible. Kind of like having 15 players in a Battlefield 1942 session. Just not possible. I'd say, spend more money on a game that doesnt suck the living life out of your computer. Half Life 2 comes out in September, while Doom 3 comes out in 2004 sometime along the road. Its better, and you dont need to get a million dollar card to use the game! TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!

Summary: Review
Review: Graphics, lighting are very good, but textures are a bit too dull and simplistic. Unfortunently the game features the same cliched story as the original doom, and doesn't seem to be pushing the first person genre forward. Running down corridors blasting monsters seems to be the overall aim of the game - where as ID promissed a atmospheric and scary experience. Yea right.

Summary: Will this turn out to be another tech-impressing sequel?
Review: Ultimately "legacy called" fps such as Doom, Quake, Unreal, Half-Life, No One Lives Forever, etc, have been the most ideal, thus, their SEQUELS, on the other hand, have been a disapointement unless yourself is considering the technical area of rating. So far, from the previews and interviews, the most impressive area has been GRAPHICS ENGINE for Doom 3, so I'll tell ya what. When Doom 3 DOES hit shelves, take a hard long narrow look at your money, take a look at what all these sequels have become out of these old but great fps, and look at a 60-100$+ doom 3 game for pc that has super high system requirements and appears to apparently be most graphically impressive, knowing you'll have to spend all this money to upgrade your computer, plus buying doom 3, and plus tax, and think to yourself: "Is it really worth it to take another chance at another lame-seeming sequel?". Because if you think the alpha is good it only seems to be good for graphics, and it will be SOME WHAT like the final retail of doom 3. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Doom 3 will be the genre changing revolutionary truly great fps, but consider it the other way. What if the most anticipated highly awesome seemingly game of 2003/2004 is just a complete disapointement? Then what? Then you stick with the old games and never trust any new games again because what game developers don't understand is a tech-impressive only game doesn't make a game like 95% of the gamer's population in the world wishes to experience. Heh heh.

Summary: Great game, great graphics, [bad] multiplayer?
Review: the game looks insanely realistic. when the game was still new and they barely worked on much it already put all present games to shame. its intent is to scare the [pooh] outta you and it will do just that. there is only one problem, it is going to have barely any multiplayer, imo if a game *especially FSP* doesnt have multiplayer itn't anywere near as good as it could be. I can't wait until they use the doom 3 engine on quake or unreal or some game like that

Summary: Prepare to spend lots of $$$ for PC upgrades
Review: Everyone is ranting and raving about the graphics and how amazing they are. It is true. The graphics are better than any FPS I've ever seen. The background music, produced by Trent Reznor, is chilling. However... For any FPS to be fun, it must run smoothly with little or no frame- rate choppiness. This game will not run on a Pentium 4 with stock graphics and video cards. The hard drive in your computer right now most likely won't be able to contain the fully-installed game. The real question is, is it worth dropping hundreds of dollars into Doom 3 for just another First Person Shooter with amazing graphics and sound? This you must answer for yourself.

Summary: DOOM III Alpha Leak
Review: I recently found my self-holding a copy of the E3 demo of DOOM 3. Even though this was just the demo with three playable levels, it is amazing. I am running an AMD XP 2100+ w/768mb pc2700 ram and an ATI Radeon 9500 pro 128 mb. This may not be the fast rig around but it still looks great this pc. The shadows in the game are outstanding. Watching a light swinging back and forth casting terrific shadows was the just the beginning. The monsters even cast shadows on themselves when in light. This is a truly dark game and the great lighting effects really jump up the scare factor here. The character models are great; the main character that you play has a 5 'o clock shadow and the details are amazing. The three levels I have been playing are just a taste by all the articles I have been able to read and I cannot wait to buy the game when it comes out in November.

Summary: The next step of 3D gaming evolution WILL begin in early 04
Review: ...and that evolution will be started by DOOM III. When DOOM was first released in 1993, IT was the game that displayed gaming evolution. DOOM 1 offered what no other game has at it's past time; a whole new atmosphere to interact in. It set the new standards for FPS gaming and GAMING. But compared to today's standards, it looks like a ant compared to mike tyson, 2x worse.
Let's just put it in those terms. Doom 3 will not only put you in pre-rendered CG PIXAR quality graphics with amazing realistic sound effects, having you not notice the difference between reality and video gaming, including mp and sp modes, it'll put you in amazing game play atmosphere that will begin a new era of gaming. Not the third party* era of gaming, NO, the fourth party era of gaming. Expect Doom 3 to show up at E3 once again soon and be released on March 1rst, 2004. Yes, a little far aways from now. Doom 3 WILL be a very demanding game though. In may 2002, when it was previewed, it was said it would require at least a geforce 3 with a 1ghz p3 or equivelant processor with lots of RAM and more. It sounds huge. It seems like your at least gonna need a beefy fairly-state of the art system(WinXP Pro, P4 2.8-3.06ghz+, 512-1gb of ram!, DirectX9a, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5800 ULTRA or ATI Radeon 9700, Sound Blaster Audigy 2, a huge hard drive, etc...)to turn on all the fancy-prancy visuals and other effects that add amazing depth and realism to gaming. Multiplayer will be seen in a whole new way. The beyond-revolutionary light and shadow will be actually put to use in doom 3, as it was in splinter cell, just looking at a much higher quality and more realistic and a lot more use of it. The shadows look so freagin' realistic, your gonna need at least a top of the line graphics card to enable real-time shadows in doom 3. Lightning also looks very realistic. And more. All I gotta say it come with a prepared system and cross your fingers when you install doom 3 to gain the ultimate without lurching foward into a universe of video gaming. Good luck! ;-)

Summary: Wait before you judge....
Review: .....

The game is more terrifying than anyone could ever have imagined. For instance, you see creaking pipes and ominous noises, you look around, and then suddenly a giant pinky (hideous monster) comes out of the wall and starts mauling you. Or when you enter a shady room and all you can see is the shadow of the zombies and can't tell where they are, until they start bearing down on you and ripping you to pieces. It's truly frightening. The lighting system is unbelievable, the game looks amazing even at VGA resolution, and the character models are some of the best I've ever seen. It has the potential, on a good rig (and it will) to put the unreal engine to shame. Everybody should own this game.

Summary: THE GOOD,BAD THINGS AND UGLY MONSTERS
Review: yeah its true doom3 is not only cool but also taken over the word fear.doom 3 is one of the most scariest and violent games the pc is gonna see and you better believe it.the monsters are really scary and bloody and cool cause the original doom1 nad doom2 had a lot of monsters and even at that time they were straight out of hell and in doom 3 when these monsters enter the 3d world, there gonna become way more scary and thats the best thing about doom3 ,but there is a downfall because doom 3 may require a machine almost 256 or 512mb.the minimum should be 128 because most gamers have p3,s with 128mb!heck,there are games like hitman 2 which can run on a 128mb machine and they have amazing graphics.so i hope doom 3 will run on a 128mb machine and more people will buy it and it make take over the gaming industry as the world's most scariest game.
