Summary: Best game I've ever seen.
Review: I just finished playing this game all the way through, and I was very impressed with everything. My jaw became unhinged because it was always hanging from the AMAZING graphics. Everywhere I went in the game I just kept looking around so I could see all the detail. I don't do that with games. The only complaint I could have is that it all takes place on an island, or more than one. So, there are not many environments but tropical. With the power of this engine, and the detail of the maps as it is, I'm sure it would have taken way too long to program new environments. Maybe they'll have some if they release an expansion pack. I would certainly stand in line to get it.

This game was full of surprises. I was a little freaked out on some of the levels. There is just no end to the fun on this game. The great thing also is that many people are starting to put out their own MODS and maps. I'll have to try some of them.

Now go and get this game already!!!

Summary: A TRUE NEXT-GENERATION SHOOTER; AWESOME
Review: The graphics, enemy AI, and sound have already been covered by others - this game is outstanding for all those reasons, including its lenghthy game play and physics. The levels are insanely large and completely open-ended. I am near the end (I think) and have yet to hit any of the invisible lines that artifcially limit where you can go in similar games. I have grown weary of "on the rail" shooters that provide only one, predefined path through a level. This game instead drops you on one of the many islands in this game and you can walk and explore anywhere on that island, and accomplish and approach your objective in almost any manner you can think of. The physics must be seen to be believed. The levels are best measured in terms of virtual miles - they are that big. You can steal a boat with a rocket launcher and launch against enemy soldiers from close to a mile away - watch with your binoculars as the smoke trail from the missile streams to its objective and blows your enemies away. Nothing ever happens the same way twice - enemies patrol based on truly amazing AI. They are rarely in the same place twice. Enemy bodies react with amazing realism to their environment - hit them with a grenade and they realistically go flying. Shoot them in the head and they literally crumple to the ground. Every object in the game has an incredibly realistic mass to it. This game looks graphically as good or better than every movie and screen shot I have seen thus far in Half-life 2. Its an overused cliche, but this game is to the shooter genre what the original Half-life was in its heyday. Truly the next evolution in gaming that future games will be measured against.

Review: look this game is so stupid I would give it 0 stars if I could.

Summary: good stuff
Review: Far Cry is an enjoyable first person shooter with entertaining physics and very good AI. The enemies, the genetically engineered ones anyway, are genuinely spooky. Had more than one episodes of the chills playing this game. The game graphics are beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Complaints about the game? The vehicles drive like my 72 pinto, lack of in game save abilty, lack of character progresion, and a lack of interesting weapons.

That having been said the game is so well balanced, that you don't mind so much about those shortcomings.

Till doom III, Deus Ex III or half life 2 come along this is a great fix

Summary: A fluid cross between Splinter Cell and Half-life
Review: This is the greatest FPS to date, hands down. The graphics engine is the most ambitious I've ever encountered, lush jungle foliage and waving grass are only the beginning. Do play this game with some good headphones, as the sounds of this world will immerse you. The enemy AI will give most players a serious run for the money. Enemies will lay down cover fire while their comrades try to flank you. They'll never send a lone unlucky soldier after you if you flee. Expect at least a pair to be sweeping the area for you. Some enemies will actually seek a strategic position and await your return. Others will hose bullets into the foliage where you last disappeared, hoping for a lucky hit, while some will panic and pump ammo all over the place. Stealth tends to be the quickest and safest way through many situations (your "6th sense" stealth-meter tells you when someone can see you). But it's certainly not mandatory, just expect your killing spree to be a very challenging affair. Be warned, though: a powerful system is needed to run this game in its full glory. I'm running a 2.8ghz pentium 4 prescott processor, and a Radeon 9800 pro video card.

Summary: nearest thing to hl2 and doom3
Review: first off i am a huge fan of doom and half-life and if you are waiting for doom3 or Hl2 then get this game it has great graphics and good AI.

the story is very intresting but i wont spoil it.
it also has drivable vehicles which are great fun to drive

i must warn you though my computer is 1.200 mhz, geforce 4 mx440 128 ddr ram and 512 memory and it only runs on low detail so you may have to upgrade for this game and those to come eg. hl2, doom3.

overall it is a great game and i love it so go buy it as soon as possible but make sure your pc is at least as good as mine or check the back of the box to make sure it will run on your pc

hope this was of help,
huge hl and doom fan.

Summary: bling bling what's this
Review: This game is aviesly a show stopper. Very many people have been waiting for a game like this. And I was waiting for half-life 2 but when I tried far cry out at my friends house I just had to get it. If you like very realistic and sniping games your gonna wanna take a good look at this. The only problem with it is you gotta have a pretty good computer to play.

Summary: Awesome Visuals and effects, But...
Review: I have to hand it to UBISOFT as they have finally produced a game with stunning visuals and effects that buries the competition hands down. The most awesome thing is the feasability of the terrain. If you hide in the grass you are actually hidden, you can also throw rocks to distract enemies or toss a grenade to give them the rest of their life off. This game rocks in all aspects except one. Frankly put, the multiplayer "blows" and I mean REAL BAD! If you are fortunate enough to stay connected more than 5 minutes or spawn and receive your weapon with a reasonable time (under 2 minutes) you will enjoy it. If you are looking for the most beautiful multiplayer environment you have ever seen, this is definitely a find. However if you are planning to run around and see the environment be prepared for the roller coaster ride of a lifetime as you frequently disconnect, reconnect and get rejected because your CD key is invalid...um no wait its okay welcome back.... (I am sure you get the idea). No other game I have seen can come close to Far Cry when it comes to overall eye candy and playability. The single player game is challenging enough to keep you occupied as well as the AI which is pretty decent save a few bugs where the soldiers do stupid things while you pick them off just outside the range of their guns. I have heard that the game murders a high-end 3GHz+ machine but I am only running a P4 2.4GHZ HT 800MHz FSB on an Intel D865PERL Motherboard with 1GB Kingston HyperX DDR 3200 and a Radeon 9800 Pro 128 and the game works just fine with the settings maxed out. As for the connection I am running 3.4MBps cable and have one of the lowest pings in the room when I get disconnnected. I in no way recommend passing this game up at all I am just warning you that the multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired and if you are one that only plays online this title will test your tolerance. I am sure a patch will eventually be released to alleviate the issues but right now I'll stick to single player.

Summary: One of the best all around FPS games ever
Review: I just bought the Dell Inspiron XPS, with the 3.4 GHZ P4 HT, and 1 GB or DDR 400 RAM. And I had read that this game is a computer drainer. I ran this game at full graphics and it ran seamlessly. The graphics in this game are just unreal, and the gameplay is so smooth. The best part of the game is that fact you can interact with everything. I also like that the enemies are smarter than your usual FPS game enemies. These guys actually flank you and sneak up on you. It makes the game that more intense. This game is one of the best games I have ever played. I recommend it to anyone who loves FPS games, but make sure your computer is beefed up, because if you are running less than a 2ghz, and 512 of RAM, you are going to miss out on what this games has to offer.
