Summary: The best game in Vietnam war
Review: For those unfamiliar with the basics of the game, Battlefield Vietnam is a multiplayer-focused shooter that allows you to fight the battles of the Vietnam War against computer-controlled bots or up to 63 other players. In the conquest mode, which is the primary mode of play here just as in Battlefield 1942, players divide up into two teams, one for the US and its Vietnamese allies and the other for the North Vietnamese and its Vietcong allies. You're then dropped into a gigantic map and must battle for strategic control points. In addition to running around on foot with a variety of weapons, you can jump into an assortment of vehicles, including jeeps, tanks, helicopters, jets, and more. Often, multiple players can jump into the same vehicle; for example, one player can pilot the helicopter while two players handle the side-mounted machine guns and two others sit back and shoot out the side with their own weapons. It can make for a wildly exciting experience as the two teams slug it out in a tug-of-war struggle, and a team's fortunes can change in a heartbeat depending on the skill and coordination level between players.

Summary: Not a bad game at all
Review: This game is better with the new patch that was added on. The M60 was a messed up gun which you could kill people like it was a sniper and now pretty much no one uses it. It is true that if you can fly a helicopter well you will get many kills and the games pisses you off a little bit but other then that it's a good game. It is not a single player game if that is what your looking for. This game is ment to be played online. This game has added some fun with my friends in being in the same room and teaming up against everyone. They are coming out with new things for the game such as new levels and helicopters in the next patch so get this game. Based on what others have said it seems like it's a bad game but it really isn't. This game is a fun game and only 30.00 in some stores. Trust me when you are playing against 50 people its crazy!!

Summary: Explanations of things I have seen in reviews
Review: It appears to me that some people who have reviewed this game just don't have much experience with online FPS, the players, or recent happenings with punkbuster. For those of you new to the online FPS community, and it is a community, there are those of us who admitedly have been playing the Battlefield sereis for quite a while. You are going to run across people on almost every server that is going to destroy you because of the difference in skill. I have read complaints about unbalanced this and that. I honestly have yet had a problem with scoring above 35 points a match playing with the people at my local LAN center. You learn to deal with spawn killers and air and land vehicles. Also, depending on when you got the game, a US heavy machine gun called the M60 got some much needed patching. It went from the n00b cannon from hell to the gun everyone avoids like the plague, which is good. So, depending on the time you played this game, experience with that gun may have varied. Also, some of you have spoken of problems with Punk Buster. ALWAYS MAKE SURE PUNK BUSTER IS ENABLED. Servers will kick for not using it and even deny you from joining. This is to stop some of the cheaters from earlier installments from making the game no fun. Unless you are a seasoned vetran of the FPS genre, or you are willing to put in effort, please don't complain about good players on servers. This game has too many good features to pass up, but only if you want to play online, or LAN with your friends.

Summary: What this game is and isn't
Review: First of all, I would like to clarify that I have never played the single player campaign for any of the Battlefield series. It must be stated that the battlefield games were most certainly not made for the single player. Kind of like Counter-Strike. This game was meant to be played online, and if you aren't playing it as such then you aren't experiencing its true greatness. This game is an almost perfect addition to the battlefiled series that was produced by EA instead of the fans this time. With the purchase of this game, you should understand full and well that the only thing you are to pay attention to is the little item choice called multiplayer. The graphics are good as far as online centric FPS games go. I would recomend this to anyone that wants to enter into or expand their play in the multiplayer FPS genre. This is one of those LAN party type of games only good with other people and it is a very good change in pace to my favorite Battlefield franchise. My only complaint, and the reason it is four and not five stars, is that the helicopters are much more toned down over the ones in the fan mod Desert Combat. My favorite part of battlefield is the helicopter combat and the ones found here are sluggish and are more utilitarian in nature. Happy Fragging. ^_^

Summary: buggy and unrealistic
Review: In single player I saw graphical glitches on levels. In multiplayer, I've had the game crash when a server disconnected, and punkbuster suddenly kick me from a server even though I just have a standard install of the game. But the most important thing is gameplay, and in that this game fails for me as well. Get used to plenty of spawn killing and team killing when playing online. Plus, the weapons are totally unrealistic. You can open up a machine gun on someone and they still kill you with one shot. You can shoot a rocket at someone's feet and they don't die but you do. Last I checked, if a rocket propelled grenade explodes at someone's feet, they aren't going to keep walking. Graphically, the colors are too dull and mixed in. Plenty of times online people just walk right next to each other not even seeing one another. I know it's supposed to be hard to see in the jungle, but this is like playing in the fog and at dusk all the time. The vehicles are nice, except the jets and helicopters are difficult to control, which is unfortunate because you need pinpoint control of your guns and missiles to actually accomplish anything. One thing I will say is the levels are nicely designed, with huge hills and bridges, etc.

Alot, and I mean a lot of bugs in the game.
When it first came out, I thought this is gonna be the best.
But was I wrong.
The only good thing in the game is the graphics, and multiplayer.
Wait when the price goes down, then buy it, and play only multiplayer cause thats the best.
I am realy disipointed at this game, and they could have done better, a lot better!

Review: This game stinks. I have Pentium IV 2.66mhz, 512ram, 128 NVIDIA Geforce FX video card, and DSL and this game stinks. Heres what is good: 1. Great soundtrack. The music is awesome.
2. The idea. the idea is great. The way it plays out is not. I first decided to play the single player mission to get the hang of the game. The graphics weren't very good and even this part of the game lags. The movements are jumpy and it takes along to load. So I decided to try on-line and see what it was like. I couldn't even log onto a game because I had the wrong version. I just got the game that day and it hadn't been out long. Plus this game comes with some software called Acegain Liveupdate. It is supposed to automatically check and download any patches and updates. Well, it didn't. So I said OK to update. I waited and waited and waited and finally after 1/2 an hour, I cancelled it and went out on the internet and looked for the patch. After waiting a little over an hour, I finally got the patch and loaded it. The patch did let me enter an on-line game and it did help with the graphics, but the game was way too laggy. According to my ping, I was running less than 70 and I had the 3rd best ping out of 16 people and I still couldn't move very well. I was warping all over the place. So I tried another server and another server and after 17 tries, I found a game with only 5 other guys. And guess what? It still played like crap. Not sure how the other 5000 + people that are on everyday keep playing this, but they are. I thought the idea of doing helicopter drops and firing weapons from a helicopter and some of the booby traps you can set sounded cool. And it looks like the maps were done very well and there was lots of potential here. But somewhere along the line something happened. And it isn't good. I have also read some reviews here that said you had to have certain video cards and computers. Why? This game should have been made to work with computers no matter what they have as long as they meet the minimum requirements. My computer which is a Dell beats those requirements and the recommended requirements by alot. But the game still lags on single player and multi player. It is just unplayable. I have not had this problem with any other recently released games and should not have had a problem with this one. But it sounds like I am not the only one. Having been a pretty big fan of Battlefield 1942, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone right now. Maybe more patches are on the way but after trying to play this game for around 12-15 hours, I just can't do it anymore. I will keep checking for new patches to see if it improves, but for right now, I would tell you to wait for Battlefield 2 which is coming sometime. Until then, I will get back on-line and continue to play Medal of Honor.

Review: Absolutely the worst game I've ever spent money on. Game play is jerky and often stops entirely. Don't waste your time or money on this piece of garbage. I'm very disappointed in EA, they usaually have very good products.

Review: i gave this game 3 of 5 for a couple of reasons. the gameplay is the same for the most part as BF1942 and the graphics are better. the ai is fairly decent as long as u customize it and put the bots up. some people on here are complaining that it slows down your computer than obviously your computer is crap. i have an alienware area51 extreme this is why it doesnt suck. if your PC meets minimal requirements DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. if your computer exceeds the requirements you will have no problems so BUY THIS GAME. it is full of action with vietnam era songs weapons and realistic terrain. the music is outstanding on the loading screens and the online play is outstanding. everything on this game is good but not great and if u like war games you will like this

Summary: GREAT ONLINE GAME
Review: This is probably my fsvorite online multiplayer game so far. There are lot's of levels which are huge. You can have up to 64 people on a server. There are lot's of weapons including bazookas, machine guns, pistols, mortars, rifles, knifes, bombs etc. There are also traps you can set on the ground like spikes and others.There are also a lot of vehicles. Tanks, scooters, jeeps, planes, helicopters. You can get up to like 5 people on one vehicle. There is only a two minor problems. It gets laggy sometimes and it takes a while to get onto a server. Almost four minutes. You get to listen to music while your drivin vehicles and that's cool. Songs I always play are songs are "Wild Thing" and "Surfin Bird". There are like 20 songs all together. Still this is a great game for anyone thats a fan of war games and just good non-stop multiplayer action.
