Summary: Holy crap. This game is awful.
Review: Garbage. Stay with UT2K3 or get Battlefield Vietnam. Total crap this game is.

As Donald Trump would say to such a game... "Your Fired"

Do not buy this piece of junk.

Summary: Finally.............an improvement on Unreal Tournament!
Review: Having tried to keep up with the Unreal franchise I was disappointed by Unreal II and found Unreal Tournament 2003 (UT2003) ultimately unrewarding and no improvement on Unreal Tournament (UT). I have been playing Unreal Tournament 2004 for the last week and have found the following:
* The look and feel are similar to UT2003 - the graphics have the same excellent quality. Most of the characters are the same but the robots have been romoved which is a shame.
* The maps are generally all new and are a significant improvement on UT2003. I have only yet played a small section of them but they are replayable and well constructed. Most are indoor but some are outdoor - favourite so far is "Roughfinery".
* The gameplay is SIGNIFICANTLY better. This is where UT2003 failed and UT2004 succeeds. The experience is now significantly more satisfying and will have you returning again and again to the game - something which UT2003 never really achieved.
* Guns are generally the same - for better or worse. One improvement is that the Biomass Rifle is far more effective. Also the sniper rifle is redesigned. The accuracy of the weapons seems to have improved.
All in all then a real improvement over UT2003 in terms of gameplay, maps and overall playability. I have no doubt that this incarnation of Unreal will be welcomed with a major thumbs up by gamers in general as well as fans of UT.

Summary: Yawn
Review: Very pretty, but as usual, gameplay suffers. Nothing new here. They ruined the sniper rifle by having smoke blind you whenever you shoot it. And the zoom sucks. Personally, I'm sticking with UT 1999. Like Quake 2, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Summary: This is an awesome game.
Review: This is an awesome game because you can play on the internet with other people, play bots, do a ladder championship. Instead of playing on someone elses server host your own server game. If you have a LAN computor thingy than have a LAN one. You get out of this world guns like the link, sheild, tri barrel rocket launcer, a gun that shoots out little spiders, shock rifle, turrets, miniguns, lightning guns, the best one is the redeemer. the redeemer shoots out a rocket that you can control or just goes where you shoot it. The redeemers are hidden so that it is harder yo find. You can play capture the flag, domination, bombing run, last man standing and many more. I guerenty u will like it because you can have awesome graphics or not. You will love it.

Summary: Amazing.
Review: Everything good about the original put back in, everything bad about the sequel taken out (or left as an optional selection) and a new "onslaught" mode that alone is worth the price of admission.
Works great on just about any hardware, and the quality is quite scalable. Simply the best multi-player first-person shooter there is.

Summary: The Best Shooter Ever.
Review: I have played a few different shooters, Quake 2 Arena, Voyager Elite Force, and even Unreal Tournament 2003 but there is nothing like this game. I have an middle-of-the-road E Machines pc, and it frankily looks and works great. I tried the demo and fell instantly in love. Of course this is nothing like the real thing. (...)

Summary: Hail the new King of First Person Shooters
Review: UT2004 is one of the few games that gets everything right from the start. The best feature is the new Onslaught mode which will be copied by all future games. Onslaught is similar to BF1942 but tons better and has vehicles like hovercrafts, airplanes, and tanks. Unlike BF1942 or BFV all of the vehicles and weapons are meticoulosly balanced so there is no weapon that totally dominates the game. Also Onslaught doesn't require twitch reflexes used in Deathmatch to do well but it does take a lot of strategy and teamwork.

Assault Mode is also back and includes maps that involve escorting vehicles, stealing weapons, and an assault on a space station using fighters ala Wing Commander.

The only bad thing about Assualt and Onslaught is that it will bring even high powered systems to their knees. I'm running a Radeon 9800 Pro and usually get 20-40 FPS in these modes while in deathmatch I get 80-120 FPS.

UT2004 also includes a new easy to use voting system for selecting new maps. Any player can nominate a map to play and others can either vote on the map or nominate their own. Also their is voice chat which is really useful in Onslaught mode.

In conclusion I think UT2004 is probably the best game and the value for your gaming dollars. It has tons of gameplay modes like Assault and Onslaught which are tons of fun. Also there are over 100 maps and work is already getting started on new community MODS that will be free to download.

Summary: This game is worth $69 but is priced less than $39.
Review: I just bought this game yesterday and let me tell you I am impressed.

Within the last month i had picked up Ureal 2 and began playing it again. I had forgotton what a quality game it is. Now don't get me wrong - some things were just plain BAD - like using a flame thrower to torch alien spider monsters ala ALIENS, and some really annoying NPCs. But the graphics, sounds, locales, textures, lighting, details, etc in the game were absolutely superb. I had been playing Halo and Half Life for months - when I loaded up Unreal 2, it was breathtaking and so refreshing. In comparison to other games, Unreal's graphics just shine.

That leads me to UT2004. I think people are spoiled rotton. UT and UT2003 were great games. Each one took tournament gaming to a completely new level. Each one was new and unique and had so much to offer above other similar games. UT2004 takes this section of computer gaming to the next level. Above Halo, Quake3, and the Half Life consortium, and even above the Unreal tournament predecessors, UT2004 adds so much new content to the mix.

Returning is the Assault mode, which was my favorite. And they've added 4-5 completely new game modes to this version. They have revamped 2003 weapons, brought back the popular UT sniper rifle, and created completely new weapons. They've added vehicles. And the voice-over-IP is amazing. Not many players utilize this feature yet, but I have heard it a few times and it is crystal clear, unlike the similar feature implemented in Counter Strike and Team Fortress. Also, you can have the game translate typed text for you via a computer-generated voice. This is hillarious some times, when the computer voice says hahahahehe, or Noooooooooooooooooooo - which comes out like "No oh oh oh oh oh oh oh ...." :)

Unreal and UT2003 were pathetic in their packaging. For $49 Unreal2 had a jewel case but the manual was in black and white. For the same $49 UT2003 had no jewel case and it manual was red text/graphics on white paper. BUT FOR $3x (I paid $39) Unreal tournament 2004 comes in a very nice glossy cardboard CD case with a portfolio for the 5 install CDs required for installation. They sit in a slim portfolio that slides into a slot in the side of the case making the whole thing the size of a large dual-CD jewel case. The manual is a book about 6"x3.5" and is full color printed on glossy magazine-quality paper, about 50 pages long.

If you bought UT2003, there is a $10 refund you can claim, if you don't mind tearing off the front cover of your U2003 manual and sending it in with your UT2004 receipt.

All in all, I am extremely impressed with Epic's game. Well worth my money.

Summary: Stunning - Best FPS Ever
Review: I don't write many reviews, but, in the case of UT2004 I felt it was my duty too. I've been running UT2004 on my top-notch 2.4 GHz AMD with 9700 Radeon Pro and the game literally is so amazing to watch I'm having a hard time focusing on fragging my opponents. The enviroments are so totally diverse and captivating, they really create a sense of reality to the game. The Onslaught mode is not as good as you have heard... its better!! The vehicles, voice chat, HUGE boards, and ability to configure the link-set up makes the Onslaught game mode the shinning star of UT2004. With Assault back, along with CTF and Bombing run (a cool UT2003 addition), UT2004 is well worth any price you see online or in the store.

This is the most excited I have been about a FPS since Quake 2 and I have played everything since then. If you have played and enjoyed any of the fantasy-type FPS like Doom I-II, Quake I-III, or Unreal I-II... UT2004 will satisfy your every desire to frag (and drool)!!

Summary: Like Old Times
Review: I must say this is the best Unreal Tournament yet. There is a little bit of the old with the new and I love the assault mode.
This version remind me of the original UT, but better. This is what UT2k3 should of been. This game rocks I'm speechless! Buy it you will not regret it
