Summary: The monkey island starter pack
Review: I got all the monkey island games when they first came out. The first one was great for 1990, a good plot a fair amount of gameplay and over all the graphics. The makers of this game invented a new programming languge that helps produce an adventure game like this. This languge shure worked for monkey island 1, and a couple years later when monkey 2 came out it worked again. The first two games were a huge success and a 3rd game was expected but that didn't come out until 1997. And die hard monkey island fans expeced a great reward for their wait, Boy did they get it. The graphics had greatly improved and a whole new monkey island world was created. The "cast" of the game took on a new look, and over all that a new aspect of the game was added. Sence the first two games were made during the turn-of-the-decade compurers did not have enough speed or memory to suport voiceovers in games, but this new monkey island game did and fans raved. Of course they expected this game to have voices in it but not this well suited to the characters, Guybrush's(the main character)voice especilly. Every thing about the 3rd game excells, and the first two are like perfect introductions to the 3rd. No one should play monkey 4 whithout playing the 3 included in this pack.

Summary: Monkey Island Series absolutely WONDERFUL!
Review: I have played many games for a very long time, but the Monkey Island games far out weigh any! The game is not only complex with mind challenging puzzles, it is also HILARIOUS!! Even my children (who are 8 & 6) can play it and get a good laugh. It is not easy for them to figure out all the puzzles, but it is a good test of their creativity and problem solving. These games provide hours and hours of family fun (sometimes it takes the whole family's input to solve some of the puzzles!). In order to follow the whole story, you should play it from the first game to the last. It is a wonderful game, very much worth the price paid!

Summary: What more could you want???!!
Review: I used to play the monkey island 2 (LeChuck's Revenge) back in early 90s and I really enjoyed it - then, I found out that there was 3rd MI game! I bought it right away and I couldn't have been happier. It was funny, the graphic was fun to look at and the puzzles were well written except for a few of them - then the 4th MI came out in 3D last year and I loved it, too. It was same monkey island with 3D graphic - they also changed the control method from mouse to keyboard which is a little annoying at first but not bad indeed.

Anyway, I really wanted to go back to the beginning of it all and experience the whole thing. Until I found out about this archive series, I was faced with too over priced games in floppy. I was so very happy to find out that Lucasarts had published the MI archive. for this price, it's well worth it even if you already have the curse of MI. You can see how Guybrush has changed from the beggining to the end. The graphic isn't that much to look, at but considering how old they are, it's very good. Non-linear puzzles make it less frustrating when you are stuck at one spot and even when you are having a little problem, Guybrush always manages to give you a little hint. Highly recommended!

Summary: Monkey 4Ever !!!
Review: I was just a kid when I played my first adventure game, that game was The Secret of Monkey Island or just Monkey 1. As far as I remember, no other game makes me feel so glad to have a computer ! Since then, I just could not stop to play Monkey Island, so I bought the Monkey 3 and Monkey 4, and finally, after many years, I bought this pearl, the Monkey Island Archives. Monkey is a mix of fun and jokes, and is the only one wich can bring to you the mistery of the Disc 28 and many others ! If you know what I mean, luck you, you are part of the great world of Monkey Island, if you don't, buy it now !

Summary: One of the last great adventure games...
Review: I've gotta hand it to Lucas Arts. In every adventure game I've ever played from them (And I'm going all the way back to Maniac Mansion and Zack McKracken for the Commodore 64), there is always at least one thing that really cracks me up. I mean fall on the floor laughing. I dunno what it is, maybe the writers (and these are some of the best written games out there) and I just have the same sense of humor.

I'll never forget Indiana Jones' insistence at sharing his Squab-on-a-stick, or Manny Calavera's "Run, you pigeons! It's Robert Frost!" (Those who have played Grim Fandango might get it).

But, I gotta say, no Lucas Arts game has made me laugh as hard or as often as Curse of Monkey Island. From Wally the failed miniature pirate, to the giant block of Tofu mask, to ... well, I don't want to give it ALL away, but believe me, I lost it quite a few times.

I could go on and on about details, but the long and the short of it is this: Curse of Monkey Island is a clever, well written, hilarious, and beautiful game. I absolutely LOVE the cartoon graphics, and feel they work so much better for this genre than the everpresent 3-D polygonal stuff we're getting now (Grim Fandango notwithstanding). In fact, I may never play Escape from MI just because of that. Call me old fashioned, but if a game plays like being in a cartoon world, it should look like one as well. Except for the gorgeously rendered ships, of course. They're OK. :)

If you've played any of the others in the series, play this one. If not, play this one anyway. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Amazing
Review: Im a major MI fan (i spent a lot of time tracking down all the games- had no idea it was on amazon :() Anyway, i'll review one at a time:

1: My first video game. It is witty, charming, and kid appropriate. After playing, i couldnt WAIT to see if they would release other games, and maybe even a movie!

2: A very nice sequel, and while it relates to number one, its ok to play without playing the first.

3: By far my favorite, this is the funniest. The grapics have really evolved, and insult swordfighting is back (you fight like a cow!)

By far one of the best game series ever. I'll go rate 4 now...

p.s GET THIS FOR YOUR KIDS FOR CHRISTMAS!

Summary: Is it possible that someone does not know Monkey Island?
Review: It is strongly improbable that some adventure games fan would not like Monkey Island series. Even the very first game of this package - Secret of Monkey Island - still exceeds lots of contemporary games although it has been created in 80's of the last century.

What makes Monkey Island so perfect and unforgetable? It definitely is a great balance of storyline, graphics, music, humor and playability. You will play these games again and again, just to recall an uncountable number of comic scenes, memorable quotes and original ideas, just to see the main hero Guybrush Threepwood, ghost/zobmie pirate LeChuck, beautiful governor Elaine Marley and other characters in action. It is simply a masterpiece of LucasArts and I am not afraid to say that Sercet of Monkey Island established a new standard in adventure games world.

Moreover, you will get three excellent games at one excellent price. I strongly recommend Monkey Island series!

Summary: Heaven - and in a computer game!
Review: Monkey Island... a series thought by many to be one of the greatest in adventure gaming history.

They're right, you know.

The Monkey Island series follow the adventures of young Guybrush Threepwood, an aspiring pirate in the Tri-Island Area governed by Elaine Marley. During the course of his adventures, Guybrush meets Elaine and they fall in love... and he also meets the ominous Ghost/Zombie/Demon (he's different in all three games) Pirate LeChuck. LeChuck has the hots for Elaine, and a few of the games center on his quests to make her his. Guybrush and LeChuck are arch-rivals in each game.

While many I know have complained about the dated graphics of some of these games, most are willing to look past that to see a brilliant, witty, and fall-out-of-your-seat-laughing game. If you are not a believer, you will be soon - I know that I am.

Summary: leaps of logic
Review: Most of the puzzle solutions were out of the blue. There were no hints what so ever at what needed to be done.
